Other places in LB (NOT JB Smog) we're sexist in their pricing, trying to take advantage of me being a woman when quoting me astronomical prices in the $130-$200 for a smog check (i have a normal car, 2014 Hyundai)-- which I know damn well other places in long beach would NEVER try to charge a man that because it wouldn't fly. Terrible place, go elsewhere if you are considering bringing your car here. Stopped by because it was slow and they had a yelp deal expecting to be in and out. They charged me and told me that their machines weren't ready and to come back another time. Next day I came back they tried to offer me only a discount on yet another service which I never received the first time! I disputed the charge and got it back from my bank. Consider calling ahead, as this is a parking-impacted location. Only two spaces on a tiny lot and scant street parking. That was incredibly fast. I arrived in the morning and there was just one person who was in front of me. When it was my turn, I sat at this nice little table waiting for my inspection to be done. I called the store and was able to walk in. Brian was very friendly and outgoing and explained the process to me since I was registering a car from out of town where there is no smog testing required. There is a nice little shaded area to sit and Brian offered me cold water. The testing was done efficiently, and did not take long. Sometimes my engine light comes on because my car model has no gas cap. When I came to the shop the engine light was off, however it did not pass. Brian patiently explained what the problem could be and suggested to drive the car for another 50 miles so the computer can reset itself. I had no clue what all that meant and was totally confused. I called him from home after talking it over with my daughter, and he explained it to us again. I went back 2 days later and passed. I highly recommend this business. Brian went above and beyond.
