We brought our work vehicle in for a standard smog check yesterday and failed (we've been unplugging the battery following a theft, and it caused the OBDII to reset). Spencer was kind enough to advise us it would require "a few hundred miles" to clock a full drive cycle. Luckily, we had a lot of driving on today's schedule so we were able to come back for a re-inspection today. When we arrived, Spencer was quick to get our vehicle into the bay and run the test again. I wrote a review about them before and deleted it in an attempt to be as fair as possible. I double, triple and quadruple down on what I probably said before. Not only are they, Spencer specifically, not personable or friendly, they seem to be incompetent with odd doses of sarcasm and will ultimately have your car worse than it was before you took it to them. Being asked the simplest of questions, you'll get responses of, "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" and the easiest of them all, "you should take it to the dealer." I don't know, it could be just me but I've stopped taking my car there for oil changes as it seemed to ride different after the two or three times I had them do it. I also, trying to pass a simple smog because they are conveniently located down the street, can't get an answer on how to get an issue that seems simple and minimal in cost, to fix, to pass smog. Like I said, it could just be me, but my suggestion would be to pay attention to what's going on with them over there when they are communicating with you about your vehicle because they just don't seem to care about or be good at helping a general public. i had been here before only for a smog check - and that was a seamless experience the guy is a bit boisterous but he's kind and funny (he may make some dad jokes but i still remember the joke and plan to use this to others) - he's trustworthy and not trying to take advantage of you like a dealership or other body shops would i was quoted 160+ for just the labor for replacement at the dealership. i had the new battery itself from the dealership but they wouldn't just do it real quick at a lower cost lol. i didn't know how to do it myself and my husband didn't have time until the evening bc he had to go into the office. Lee's quoted me a very very reasonable price for the replacement labor. i'm so glad i made the call. it's also a perk that he speaks korean fluently - and i'm korean! if you want no frills, no price gauging kind of service - this is a place to go. he also finished in about 20 mins instead of the 40 mins he initially said!!!!! saved a lot of time and money - thank you! would highly recommend - and i made sure to add tip for the service he provided! read more

Came for a smog check. While I was there I asked for a quote for spark plugs since I was in need of that. They charged me hundreds of dollars LESS than what I was quoted at my usual oil change place. They performed my smog check and immediately ordered the spark plugs, took care of everything the same day. No BS and finished before the day ended. Definitely coming back! read more

Spencer is amazing, I can always show up in peace knowing that he's going to be honest with me and not try to scam me. As a single mother that's always in a budget knowing Spencer exist is a blessing. One time I showed up walking and crying overwhelmed because my car left me stranded two blocks away and he walked with me and figured out how to get the car going long enough to get to the shop! Last time I showed up so scared because my car was "burning" and to my surprise it was only a $100 repair, that's because he's an honest person. There's also the older mechanic, I'm sure he does a lot of the work, he doesn't speak/interacts much but always smiles to greet you when you cross paths with him. Warning!!! Don't ever bring your car here for repairs. Spencer told my daughter, that she needed to replace her catalytic converter in order to pass the smog check; which he estimated at $2,000!!! I took her car to my mechanic, who said her catalytic converter was fine, and passed the smog check. Furthermore; Spencer has the worst social skills. My check engine light came on so I went here for the first time since it's so close to me and was told I needed a part replaced that would cost $2,000 and that he couldn't pass me for a smog test. This shop is owned and managed by Mr. Kim (he took over Mr. Lee's shop). Mr. Kim was incredibly kind and fair when it came down to my auto repair.
