One of my favorite hobbies is visiting every bakery I can find. I am crazy about bread! Let me tell you! JB3 is one of the best bakeries I've ever had the pleasure of visiting! The staff was exceptionally friendly, the bread was incredible, and the pastries had this rich flavor to them that was like nothing I've had before. I especially loved the cinnamon rolls! When we stepped inside the store, we loved all the things they were selling. One could tell they were made fresh by the smell. We found some sourdough bread that was fresh too! After leaving Ybor city, we started to head to amateur Works when we looked over and saw a line out of this bread spot and decided to give it a shot. We looked up their menu prior and they have some incredible baked goods. One thing we noticed was a giant pretzel for $10 and we knew we had to get it for the kids. We only waited a few minutes before heading inside and it was hard to resist buying anything other than the pretzel but we stuck to it and got it. Now this pretzel had to be one of the softest pretzels I've ever had and my kids were shocked when they saw it. It had a good and the flavor was perfect. We ended up saving some of it and using it for sandwiches later. Definitely will be back to try some more of their baked goods and bread options. read more

I drive by this shop often and finally decided to pop in this weekend. I was craving a bagel and so I picked up a bag of their Plain Jane Sourdough Bagels, and they are some of the most delicious bagels I've ever tried! The shop has both a refrigerator with some cold items and shelves of packages breads and treats when you enter. Then, when you get to the register, there is a bakery line where you can request the more specialized treats and anything that needs to be warmed up. The place is popular and the line took a little bit, but the items I tried were well worth it. One thing to note is the parking is a little interesting. There is a partially paved lot near the shop, but it is what the cashier explained to me at "off-roading," and I recommend either parking along a side street instead or navigating VERY carefully through the parking area which can be tough on your tires or low cars with the many uneven areas. I will definitely be back and can certainly understand the hype after tasting a few items they make. Looking forward to trying more items! read more

Great bread bakery with nice variety showing talented bakers. I chose a tarte flambee, $13, full of bacon, onions and a wonderful cheese (warm), a Panela Mediaslunas 3 pak $9, sweet & nutty, and an Eastlick Ace GoJoe Coffee Shot $3.33. I also brought home their softer sourdough sliced loaf that is vegan, gluten-friendly & with finely cut flour so its soft & less crusty than the traditional "boules". Can't wait to go back and try more things like the bread pudding and eclairs! *The only thing horrid about the experience is the City parking lot next door. I found this place online when searching for "European style bread in Tampa" and I am so happy I did. I went for the first time 3 weeks ago, and I'm already a convert. I've been once a week since. This is truly a hidden gem in Tampa. I feel like I can eat this bread without worrying about feeling low or heavy. Every time I eat the SD with butter and the preserves it's a treat, it's just so good. I have my eyes set on so many other items too. These saltines are the best I've ever had. I tried the small bag last week and this week I got the big one. I tried the sun-dried tomato cream cheese today too, and oh my gosh. It's amazing. Saturday 9/14/2024 I came across this spot multiple times as it popped up many times when I was searching for "best bakery" and "best cinnamon roll" so I had to find out for myself. While looking at the menu highlights, I saw that they had cinnamon rolls and a carrot cupcake but only the cinnamon roll was available. I got the JB3 big ole' cinnamon roll $7 and looks wise it looked really good but taste wise was just alright. The breading/dough of the cinnamon roll was THE standout as it was soft & fluffy but the other aspects of the cinnamon roll didn't impress me. The icing was good but there wasn't enough and the cinnamon factor wasn't really there for what I expect from a good cinnamon roll but that's just me. read more

I'm in trouble now! My friend took me to JB3 Dough Joe because it's close to her house and she keeps raving about it. What a mistake! Now I know it exists and won't be able to stop thinking about it! Yes it's a small store, but it really doesn't need more space. I mean, where would I put all the extra goodies I would buy? Seriously?! So you walk in and it's a closed loop. As you walk around the center display, you see dozens of amazing breads, pastries, dips, and god knows what else, that you cannot live without. This was my first time, so I decided to go slow. I picked up a loaf of sourdough bread, a small bag of salted crackers, one - yes, only one - cinnamon roll, and a loaf of pretzel bread. The sourdough was so wonderful. Thick and flavorful. How am I supposed to go back to Publix sourdough now? The salted crackers were delightful. I made lunch out of them yesterday with some smoked fish spread that I had at the house. And the cinnamon roll. I can't believe I only bought one. That was a rookie mistake. I had to share it with my husband. Yeah, not gonna happen again. I didn't try the pretzel bread because that was for my hubby and my FIL, both of whom love pretzel bread, so I sacrificed. The ladies at the register rang me up quickly and we were on our way. Exceptional bread and baked goods. The menu constantly changes so some items are there a couple weeks and then disappear for a while, and certain things are a once or twice a year thing based on holidays. The kouign amann was the thing that brought me in. The extra flavor profile isn't super strong but the execution of these bad boys is spot on. The ciabatta rolls are lovely and need nothing else for the bread connoisseurs. The yeast rolls for holidays are a hit with my parents. The unusual filled croissants also won me over (I will relent on being a purist re:croissant just for the DoughJoe). The tidy Joe/jim/bolo/whateverspecialnamethatweek is a sweet ass lunch choice, and getting a half sandwich out of the cooler makes me regret not getting a whole one. Caveat - only open 3 days a week and limited hours. They recently opened up online ordering during business hours so you can get whatever item you really really want and not have a temper tantrum because it's sold out. Blue and all the folks there are super nice, give excellent recommendations, and otherwise give me the warm and fuzzies. The only downside is money and freezer space are not unlimited, so difficult choices get made here! The best bread and dough products in Tampa! The sourdough is absolutely incredible. I waited 2 hours before virustmas to purchase bread rolls, English muffins, sourdough sliced bread, pizza dough and whipped feta because it's that good. Whipped feta isn't too hard or expensive to make, but their unique flavors and ingredients make it a must! The pizza dough is small but mighty. Perfect for one very hungry person or two people to share. Light, thin and doughy but still with the perfect outer crisp/crunch. The English muffins are potato based and have little chunks in them. Hearty, a good size and such a nice consistency, not your average dry English muffins. The new location is in a random area but plenty of parking and super homey inside. read more

Great expierence but keep in mind close to the holidays there is a wait. The process is very efficient and everywhere there is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing a lot of items. Froze the ginormous cinnamon rolls and a couple other items for Christmas. They give you bags to freeze if you need them and tips on what you can freeze. I did eat the croissant, wow...so flaky and buttery. It was heavenly. I also had the pretzle bread, very good. Overall A plus, if it wasn't so far, I be there all the time ! read more

First timer, and though I did love most things, there were a couple items I wouldn't get again. This is one of the only businesses that I can remember waiting in line for it to open. I was about sixth in line, and once the doors opened, the line moved quickly. The business is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday; thus the line. The store is small, but you walk along in an orderly manner, picking things up from both the cold case on the left and the table on the right. For a newbie, it can be a little overwhelming to look at everything, and keep the line moving quickly. This leads you to the check out, where the employees hand you certain items you couldn't pick up yourself along the way. For me, one of these happened to be the pizzatta, but unfortunately she handed me the garlic and spinach (and more garlic) pizza (which I never would have gotten) instead of the pepperoni one I wanted, but I didn't notice until I got home. Heated up later this was so garlicky that it was inedible to me, and tossed out. Since pizzas are $15-ish - that hurt! I also wish they included instructions for heating these up. Things I did love: the cinnamon roll, the peach tart, the pretzel baguette, and the Italian sandwich, which was also $15-ish, but at least it was big enough for two lunches. I popped in unplanned last Friday because I was downtown with my two daughters. We were greeted right away and my girls had lots of questions on the baked items. Not only were they answered but the employees offered all three of us a slice of pizza bc my girls were complaining of hunger lol! It was so sweet and unexpected. We bought a big pan of cinnamon rolls, a beautiful apple crumble pie, and turkey bacon Brie sandwich. Everything was amazing! The cinnamon rolls were so moist and tasty! I went to DoughJoe on a rare cold and rainy afternoon in Florida. I'll tell you this: I had to restrain myself from trying all of their products. After circling the store twice before making a final selection I narrowed my purchase down to their cinnamon raisin sourdough bread, a French bread, their double chocolate brownie and a twice baked blueberry almond croissant. It was all spectacular, the service was great - the cashier was attentive and even offered complimentary freezer bags for the sourdough loaf. Great bakery for bread and other treats. I have done the whole Jameson's Breadhouse order ahead and Saturday pick up, but that required a lot of advanced planning. Now that they have a real storefront, it's a lot easier to get artisanal bread. Right now, they are open on Thursday through Saturday, but check their Facebook page to verify hours. We got a loaf of ciabatta bread, a kouign amann, a giant brownie, and a pepperoni focaccia pizza. Everything was excellent. The brownie was enough for six people to share for dessert as it was VERY rich (but absolutely delicious). My son couldn't get enough of the kouign amann. Everything not eaten immediately heated up well in the oven. They have a large but mostly unpaved private lot for parking. read more

About 3 months ago I had some friends get married in St Pete. The caterer they selected did not come through with brunch items for the bridal party. Jamison blue bakery started out of a warehouse by the train tracks in Ybor city. It is now a lovely bread shop just by seventh Avenue in Ybor and a worthwhile destination for any day. They are open which is Thursday Friday and Saturday. Breads are beyond expectation flavorful we bought a sourdough. We also bought the Yukon gold English muffins along with chocolate, olive oil, cupcakes, pistachio apricot, croissants, guava, Keylime tart peanut butter tarts , and of course we tried the Cuban bear claw sandwich. These are gourmet bakery items not to be missed if you were in the area and even if you're not make a short trip down, there's a place to park right on the side of the building it's easy access with friendly staff. Hands down the best bakery in Tampa!!! I've never had anything I didn't like from here. I recommend going as soon as they open since it's not a big place/only a limited amount of fresh made goodies. Their saltines are a staple & put regular saltines to shame! They have the best, fluffiest croissants. Every week they open up online for Saturday pickup since restaurants are ordering less due to the Rona. I am happy to help Jamison B get through it. Today we picked up a Sourdough loaf bigger than my head, (2) (huge) Foccacia with mascarpone, tomatoes, sausage and honey, (2) Asiago Milk bun harrisssa sloppy joes, Olive bread, French baguette, blueberry hand pie (gone already), Butterscotch blondie, and carrot cake. For about $70. We will be eating great this week! Pickup was super easy, drive up service, fully masked and gloved. My neighbor recommended this bakery so decided to finally go. It's only (Thur - Sat) and they tend to see out of most items quickly. I came by on a Thursday about 10 minutes after they opened and the line wasn't that long. I bought their Japanese Milk Bread (light & airy), their Pumpkin Spice Croissant (creamy inside & tasty) and their Original Kouign Amann (sweet & flaky). It was my first time there yesterday and I just want y'all to know you now have a FOREVER customer. There were people waiting in line before the place opened which is very telling. I have been to other bread shops in the area that do not compare. The loaf of sourdough bread was $9 and it is huge and had a beautiful color. Worth the price! I also appreciated that unlike another bread company nearby the DoughJoe does NOT use canola oil in their sliced sourdough options. I am so impressed. They have sourdough english muffins and bagels. also, the homemade whipped feta is 10/10. They offer other things like premade sandwiches, teas, delicious french butter, and desserts. I've been a couple of times at 11am sharp just so I get to try everything i want to try on the menu. I really love the idea of weekly menu because it keeps me interested and trying new things. Appreciate a small business like this that's trying to break the norm. The place itself is small but it's surrounded by amazing pastries/bread.
