Best place I have found to purchase Tabouli in Tampa. Great little shop.

Sami's main draw are the baked goods which are all prepared in-house. They ship all over the country and it is a huge operation. You may find their items at your local grocery store. They have a small store front where you may purchase their goods. They offer vegan and gluten free products as well. They have a strong following and are known for their quality. I come here for the tabouli, red pepper hummus and pita bread. The tabouli has a tremendous flavor and is made without bulgar. The hummus is nice and is not overpowered by garlic, which I find many are. You can make a nice light sandwich with these items. Sometimes I add feta cheese to this and lettuce. Simple and delish.

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I did a bakery tour of Tampa. We hit a few well known spots and some lesser known spots, seven total. This is a warning that 7 short reviews are coming in about the local bakeries we visited. The first spot we hit was Sami's Bakery. I would describe this as a middle eastern bakery that offers traditional and vegan breads and pastries. We arrived a little late, so most of the pastries were gone. We picked up a chocolate covered baklava, tzatziki sauce, grape leaves, and a warm cheese bread fresh out of the oven. Everything we had was very tasty and they were very friendly. There was one table outside that we stood at and enjoyed our food. You can find a lot of there items in local stores.

I've drove pass this bakery numerous times with the intent of stopping in one day to check it out. My friend told me about this bakery that cater to those who may have a gluten allergy, looking for low carb breads or watching calories. This is the bakery for all those things! Super happy to find so many choices for my gluten allergy life! I paid a total of $18 with a purchase of 5 different items. They also have Tabouli that do not have Bulgar in the recipe which is a huge plus for me! It was delicious There is refrigerated section for gluten free muffins, brownies and cheesecake. What!? Also have a glass booth full of fresh baked items that was reasonably priced. The checkout lady(didn't get her name) for sweet and patient. My go to bakery to fulfilled my once in while cravings!

So my family is really trying to watch our carb intake and one of the main ways to do it is to watch how much bread you're consuming. All the bread at the local markets and bakeries are full of sugars, like 20 carbs in one slice, that's a lot! Enter Sami's Baker!! All of their products are fresh and homemade and as this is my second time trying them out, I knew exactly what I wanted and to expand my tastes by trying some of their other items. Definitely try their cinnamon raisin bread! I was skeptical because I like raisins but not a lot of them in my bread, quoting the owner, "you're fortunate to get more than three raisins in the whole loaf"... SOLD!!! And his statement is true. Great tasting bread without an unreal amount of raisins. Which means you don't have to worry about being shortchanged when eating your Raisin Bran, lol! This bread is wholesome, fresh and good for you! At 3g of sugar in a single slice of cinnamon raising bread (subtracting the 8g of dietary fiber) And 2 grams in the regular bread, this is so much what my family as been looking for. From now on, ALL our bread and baked goods are coming from Sami's!!

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

They were huge and priced to match. Having been to France where they are a few euros, it feels inconceivable to pay $10 for a croissant but perhaps it's like getting 2. Yes, I would get it again but sticker makes it a treat opposed to a regular buy...sorry that's my one knock. Good lamination of the pastry dough with a cream filling made it both a great breakfast or snack treat to share. The pistachio crusted was wonderful. Guava cream even pleased a friend who tried our bounty. Service was pleasant but we didn't interact much since it was boxed and ready to go. Nice bakery with more goodies that we may need to try next time. Parking was easy and had a cool vibe. Can feel their passion. See hand in pic for size! Enjoy!

When I spoke with the person behind the counter she told me she could make up a few more for me but that it would be about ten minutes or so which I was okay with and glad that she was willing to do so. I told her I would visit the other shops in the plaza and be back. I waited the time and returned only to find out that she was told by someone, the owner or manager that she couldn't make anymore. So I wasted my time and spent unnecessary money on a drink elsewhere to only have that result. I know it wasn't her fault but I thought that was bad customer service. Probably more than a year later, I was down in that area again so I called ahead to see if they had any available. They did so I stopped in and got one. Now, I know Pistachios are expensive but, I do not believe what I got was worth $10.00. Even with my love of Pistachios, I thought that the top of the croissant was too covered with them to make it an enjoyable bite as it was over powered on the half that was covered. The croissant itself was a little over baked as well. I do not remember what flavor I got the first visit but the croissant was properly baked that time. I know there can be off days and maybe I visited on those days given the customer service during the first visit and the over baked goods on the 2nd but I won't rule them out, just won't go out of my way to return either.

Paris Baguette has EVERYTHING I love. Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot whether I just want a tasty healthy lunch, or I seek to indulge!

The bathrooms were very clean but were out of toilet paper and when mentioned to the staff, they said someone else would take care of it and blew it off. Meanwhile people were using paper towels and disposing of waste in the trash cans... gross to look at, as the trash was overflowing..and smelly They have a larger parking lot in the plaza and many outdoor tables with umbrellas, as well as indoor. This new location is massive, but the food is still the same. I have several critiques, but the only things I'm going to mention are these: first, the pastry counter is way too high. No one can really see over it at the employee behind unfortunately, and patrons don't seem to understand how to get in line or order. There needs to be permanent markers set up so people can view from behind the counter areas and then order once they are called it has been a cluster the five times I've been into the shop. As well as the employees are visibly stressed because of the above Second, I don't think there was any reason to bring in a name-brand coffee shop. You are a huge Tampa brand that has been around for a very long time, and you could have sold your own coffee for a much cheaper price. kind of crushed the charm of a true cuban coffee experience. Lastly, there should be a one-ticket system. I enjoy buying something from every area of the store, but having to swipe my credit card three or four times is a buzzkill. There is no reason, in this day and age, that this should be a problem. You should be able to carry your ticket until you're ready to check out. This is one of my favorite places of all time an the new location is very nice, I'm sure it will just take some time to get everything figured out.
