Oo la la! C'est magnifique! What a wonderful French bakery! The pastries and breads are beyond compare. The delicate layers, expertly crafted with dedication and love. You truly can taste the passion for excellence in every bite. It's right there in The Krate, off I-75 at SR 54 in Wesley Chapel. There are limited parking spots along the street out front and ample parking just steps away. The adorable little shop has only one or two tables inside but there are several cute outdoor tables. When I walked in, around 9am on a weekday, it was so bright and cheerful inside. The woman who took my order was very nice and made good recommendations. I ordered the gorgeous croissant a l'emmental and a beautiful berry pastry. I wish I could tell you I ate one there and took the other home for the next day. But that's not what happened! I got to the car with the second one and savored the whole thing right there. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy both of them popping fresh. They were melty and so incredibly delicious-and I so appreciate the obvious talent and care baked into each one. They import butter and flour from France, which makes a difference, too. Located at Krate and the Grove plaza in Wesley Chapel. We came on a Friday night after 8pm and they had BOGO pastries. The Pain Suisse is divineeeee. If you like Pain Au Chocolat, which is the rectangle chocolate croissant, the pain Suisse is more fluffy and soft with more chocolate. The Madelines were buttery and moist too. I forgot to ask for the pastries to be heated and they didn't offer so that was a blip in the experience. read more

It was a warm & tasty type of croissant with an interior of chocolate chips. - The almond croissant was a flat out miss for me as I didn't like it all. Amazing croissants. We had a birthday party in this area so I asked Chris W. what I should do. I didn't want to drive 45 minutes just for Chuck E. Cheese. He sent me a link to here. I got an egg and cheese croissant. It was later in the day so there were two sandwich croissants that were already sold out. Darn, but I can't blame them. I swear I thought I heard the employee say she would heat it, but maybe what she said was I should heat it. It's not clear, but what I got definitely wasn't heated. I took a couple of bites and decided it would be way better if I heated it myself. 45 minutes later (since that's how long it takes to get home) I finally could heat it. It was so good. It was buttery and flakey and just overall superb. It is a little on the expensive side. It was $10 for the croissant and since I always tip 20% that makes it $12, but the quality was amazing. At 3 p.m. on a Saturday it wasn't crowded, but they also didn't have everything anymore so you don't have to deal with lines, but you'll be stuck with what's left (which to be fair was almost everything other than the sandwiches). If you like croissants, this is your place. You'll be a fan for life. read more

Located in the Krate. They have limited indoor seating and covered outdoor seating. When I read that this was a French bakery I had to try! Upon walking in, it's very cramped given it's a small crate container location. The parties sitting at the tables just stare at you when you walk in making the feeling uncomfortable. I wasn't greeted and actually stood at the register for a good amount of time before even being addressed. I was almost to the point of walking out. That's because the staff member was actually right in front of me and saw me walk in. She finally turned around and took my order. I ordered the chocolate croissant. She didn't ask if I wanted it warm. Just put it in the bag, rang me up and that's it. No thank you for your business, nothing. The gentleman the walked in as I was leaving was acknowledged. Hmmm The croissant I waited until I got home so that I could warm it. It was very soft and you could tell it was fresh baked. Limited amount of chocolate on the inside which was a disappointment. I've been to Paris and they fill that chocolate and Nutella to the brim of their pastries. Overall disappointing with the service more than the croissant. read more

I loved it!! I was super impressed with the Pain Suisse au Chocolat. It was fresh & light, and unmistakably French. You know if you know. Honestly, I wanted to take home everything in the pastry case. It was also a good quality double espresso that went so well with that chocolate and pastry cream filling. I think I'd be their every day if I lived nearby. I'm kind of happy that it's not too close. What also stood out to me was the café décor, and the amazing service. There is limited seating indoors, but I can totally see myself using the café seating outdoors when it's cooler. The pastries were also affordable for the quality. If you go early, then you may snag a bag of day old pastries for $10. I'm kicking myself for not getting one, but I just didn't want them to sit in the car all day. However, I will make a special trip to get a bag next time. I especially want to try the cheese croissant and one of the Emile Vergeois juices. They have so many yummy flavors. I briefly skimmed the area since it was late and I wanted a snack before driving home. I had seen Karen V's review and was intrigued. It is a very small interior with only seating 3-4 people. They serve various coffee drinks, pastries, and some other dessert items. There are a few covered tables outside the main entrance for customers to sit. I ordered the pain suisse au chocolat. It is a rectangular flaky pastry roughly 4 x 2 inches. It is filled with chocolate chips and a type of custard cream. I took it to go and microwaved it for 30 seconds when I got home. It was very flaky and tasty and very rich. It is MUCH better than anything from Publix and Walmart. The woman behind the counter, who seemed to be French, mentioned that the dough is imported from France. Cool. 9/10 They also have some French imported juices and items, but I was too much of a hurry to get anything else. If you like pastries , go there tout suite! read more

Excellent beyond words. Came here for my second time. This time my friend and I did a Krate Crawl As I Call It and Came here for One of Our Stops. The girl working was so sweet. She told us that the almond croissant was the best seller, & we had to have it. She warmed it up for us and it was the best we have had. It was nice and soft and the layers were amazing and buttery and perfect. They have a mystery bag which she says is about 8-10 of the croissant selection from the day before. She said the bags are all different depending on what's left. My friend bought one, and there was about 12 big and small ones. It's such a deal. I've also tried their raisin one and another one. Definitely put them in the air fryer for a handful of minutes and they are the best. Can't believe they are so close to home and the place is adorable inside and out! read more

They offer many different pastries, sandwiches, and drinks. They also offer imported butters, flours, and desserts. Like any bakery, it's best to come in the morning as everything is made from scratch and baked fresh. It amazes me how many reviews complain about not getting their croissants warmed, only select few know that's not how it's intended to be eaten. Bakery- X is a delicious French bakery situated in Krate at the Grove. This coffee shop is just what Wesley chapel needed. I always find myself having to travel a bit to get my hands on the prefect almond croissant but this is no longer necessary. The pastries that are offered are all fresh and perfectly flakey. I love that they have savory options such as the egg croissant. This pastry in particular was the perfect morning treat. I especially loved the caramelized onions inside which really set it apart from the average egg pastry that you find at other bakeries. The coffee was great too but a smaller size than you might be accustomed to. The place is a bit small and seating is limited. This makes it more of a challenge to order when there are lots of people. Wish we went sooner. Absolutely inhaled these incredible treats from Bakery-X. The baguette was delicious. The Pain Suisse and croissants are such a treasure. We also picked up some amazing butter from France to enjoy and that was equally amazing! Absolutely dangerous how good everything is. The staff was very helpful and friendly. She explained how they sourced everything from France, including the flour, butter, and all the primary ingredients outside of the water they use. It's a cute store which was kept nice and tidy. Everything was organized in an easy to decide manner. You can tell they take pride in their work in the way everything was presented. As they say the way you do one thing is the way you do everything. We're definitely looking forward to going back as often as we can make the excuse to do so! read more

I drove all the way from St Pete to try their baguettes. Of course, they were sold out of almost everything by 11am on Saturday and Sunday. So I guess it is a pre-order business. There was tons of bread and items behind the counter but 90% of it was reserved, just for show. I tried a savory and a sweet croissant. Both were just ok, nothing that amazing. I love their chocolate croissant (or if you want to be Bouggie "pan du chocolate"), they also have a Pan Suisse who's is delicious. It's like a chocolate croissant but also has a little cream in it. Delicious warmed up! The shock is the Crookie. It's a croissant with chocolate chip cookie dough inside: game changer! Have to try.
