Time for dinner and a drink. Such a cool bar with reasonably priced food and drinks. Always seems to be a special if your looking for the cheaper night out. Lots of karaoke, and they seem to do it year round which is nice for those that are traveling , those in college, or the local looking for a bump. Bartenders are nice, and they enjoy their job; don't see that much anymore. I would recommend highly, and I will let you know how my opinion changes once school is back from break. read more

Had a blast while in town on a Saturday night doing karaoke. We recruited another group from our hotel establishment to tag along with us, so we brought a large group in. The bar was otherwise slow when we arrived. As karaoke started and it got later in the night it got busier and we had a great time throughout our visit. At the end of night we had a small hiccup situation which occurred and the biggest accolade of this review is the managerial customer service being stellar in response. Im rather tall and had a huge issue going through the doors of the bar, i hit my head nearly 10 times in a row almost cartoonishly and the employees sat their and laughed. Stopped in at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. There was three cars parked at the building. Went in and music was playing but no one inside. We waited around, looked around and literally there was no employees, bartenders, patrons nothing. We weren't sure if it was open or closed. The dot said it opened at 11 but there was no employees. We ended up just leaving. They had beer pong set up, giant jenga and a few other games. It looks like it would be a fun place. There was a menu on the bar and it looked like it had some good options. The rating was simply because there was no staff anywhere that we could see inside the building and therefore were unable to rate anything else. read more

Overall I had a great time! The atmosphere was great! Live band and everyone was having fun! Other than that the few times I went up to the bar to get a drink while I noticed my server was busy. The bartender behind the bar seemed like she couldn't care less. She seemed to want to give other costumers (males) more attention than anyone else and was just overall rude.. Definitely won't stop me from coming back but I will try to avoid her when I come in.. Hanging out having drinks. Didn't think I would eat here or really enjoy the "bar food". Had the beef taco on Monday when you can buy singles for $2. Regular price is $8.50 for three. It was REALLY good. I had one and it filled me up. I could maybe handle two but I think three would be a bit heavy. It's served in aluminum foil which gives almost a steamed vibe to it while the Chipotle mayo gives a subtle heat that is just... comforting. read more

Had the grilled ham cheese sandwich which was really delicious it was made with real ham not the cheap processed stuffed which made it all the more delioucs to the pallet. The spicy jalapeño chili was made to perffection loved the bits of hamburger in the chili definitely worth checking out. read more

I have had good service and good meals here twice and most recently, had a gristly steak and abysmal service. To my surprise, while the quality of the food went down, the price increased. My friends and I used to speak of what a great deal this place was for its food specials but the prices nor the food seem so special anymore and sadly, I can't imagine subjecting myself to that kind of service again for any reason. read more

We used them to provide the bar for our wedding reception. Staff was incredible to work with. Very professional and organized, very clear while we were busy planning the big day! Working with Marissa was a dream- she answered every question we ever had. Our big draw to chumleys was that they let us customize the bar! No surprises in any charges. Really cheap drink specials, pretty fast service. Big crowd for weeknights! Karaoke was fun, good dance floor. Lots of country music. All the help was really nice, and the vibe was party and a touch oversexed. This place just feels very Fargo (though technically it is in Moorehead MN) it is a bit trashy, a bit generic, a bit over-flashy, and the ladies dress very... scant. Lots of hook ups going on here; people are out to get laid. Horrible, horrible taps, and terrible mixed drinks. Great prices and a fun dance floor give them three stars.. I go to Chumleys almost every week. They have a great selection of original burgers and the best trivia night in the Fargo-Moorhead area!

To start, THIS IS A COLLEGE BAR, I went to MSUM and come here every Tuesday night for .50 cent beers and two for one drinks. Since leaving in 2012 I've heard it went down hill due to the switch to a DJ instead of karaoke, they also remodeled the place. Chumleys will always have a place in my heart since I had many great nights here. Never ate here so I can't comment on the food. read more

I've never had a good lunchtime experience here. Frequently slow service and incorrect orders. Most recently there was apparently some old ketchup or steak sauce on my chair (didn't see before i sat down because the lighting isn't that bright) so i had to walk around all afternoon with a sticky dark stain on my butt--lovely! I wanted to like the pork roast special--the portion was good and the meat was very tender, but it was horribly over-salted (i think the roast was brined, and then over-salted). The "mashed potatoes" were awful--I don't mind Potato Buds or Hungry Jack instant potatoes, but these were those awful powdered potatoes from elementary school that taste like an old cardboard box. So the two main items on my plate were inedible...the frozen mixed vegetables and the gravy were good, but hardly a meal. This was the last straw--Chumleys, I'm quitting you! The crowd was mixed and by "mixed" I mean either young or much older! Felt pretty uncomfortable from the moment I stepped through the doors and being from NYC it takes a lot to get that kind of reaction out of me. Not sure if it was the super thorny stares from the college guys or the "you don't belong here" type of glares from the older patrons. Eitherway, didn't stay long. The bartender lady was giving off a kind of racist vibe. I didn't feel unsafe just unsettled and the feeling stuck with me for awhile. So the "Cheers " of Moorhead is quite fitting, seeing how there weren't any black people on that show very often neither. read more

This place has come a long way under its new managements. Fights are non existent, food is good, crowd is classy, and decor and staff are solid. Its gone from being the mix of mexican tough guys and college kids mentioned below to being a mix of blue collar, white collar, students, adults, and general coolness. read more

We used to love going to Chumley's for karaoke. But then it turned into another one of those "hybrid", as the DJ's like to call it, deals. Which means you turn in songs and sit there on your butt buying drinks while the DJ puts in his preferred singers and plays shitty non-karaoke songs for the bachelorette groups. Very sad this is what is has become, and we won't go back. read more
