He was able to fit us in for a late afternoon appointment. I got a text from him saying he was about ten minutes out, and right on time, he showed up. They sent a technician out within 2-3 hours who diagnosed the problem. The part needed to be ordered and arrived in 2 days. He promptly returned, fixed it, and my fridge is back to normal.
