Their demeanor while providing their clients top notch services put them in a category all their own. When I began here on a journey to having healthy nails, I was told I would not go back to the Northshore for a manicure. This is so very true! These guys treat their clients like royalty! The new location is worth the trouble to get to ..Severn construction is a pain. Such a comfortable place to be pampered!

I previously wrote a positive review, before I knew what was going on with my haircuts…read more I went to this salon for about a year, and always requested long layers. That means some hair in the back should be cut a little above the rest, so that it's not so thick. Well, instead I got angles (face framing, very short around the face) and SHORT layers. I didn't know why for months on end why I felt uncomfortable wearing my hair completely down. I kept wearing the sides up, because in every photo of myself, it looked like I had a short bowl cut with long strings coming down!! It was a very big year for me, and after one event's photos were ruined because of this haircut, I decided to switch salons. The hairdresser there said he couldn't believe how short they had been cutting the back. He showed me with a mirror, and my "long layers" were at eye level!! I have very thick hair, so of course this was making me look awful!! After 2 years of trying to grow my hair out, I had to just chop it all, so that my hair could finally be one length. So sad.

Extremely unprofessional salon with no customer service skills…read more I've had about 6 lash fills with Diana, the lash tech, and most of my experiences have been very poor. 2/6 visits she cancelled my appointment within an hour of the scheduled time both due to illness. Life happens and people get sick, but as an adult and a professional, you should be able to manage sickness and cancel an appointment with enough time and consideration for your client to make other arrangements. There are salon rules and fees for the clients for cancelling an appointment within 24 hours, but there is nothing offered to the clients when the technician cancels last minute. During another experience I had with Diana, I waited an hour before my appointment started with no explanation. I had another appointment scheduled after, which I had to push back. During the appointment, there is no relaxation promoted during, but instead she proceeded to call the owner of the salon, Christine, and carried on a full conversation about how the hair girls were fighting over walk in clients in the front of the salon because it was their turn to make money. It is extremely unprofessional to discuss dirty laundry in front of other clients, but to find out my day off has been rearranged due to girls fighting over making money is extremely disheartening. I guess they view their clients as just $$$$ here. On a separate appointment with Diana, instead of relaxing during a luxury service, her child was constantly running in and out of the room whispering things in my ear during my service. The techs' children are always running amuck throughout the salon. It looks more like a daycare than a professional salon. I called the salon to express my concerns to Christine, and her immediate response was for me to find a new lash tech because Diana is a single mom of 3 kids and her clients are usually "more flexible". I'm not sure why I'm expected to be flexible when I'm the client. I'm asking for bare minimum, I made an appointment and I expected for it to be done at the time it was scheduled for, or for a cancellation within an appropriate time frame. She also included that lashes don't make the salon any money, so I guess it was not worth her time to attempt any kind of resolution. This salon is poorly managed and will not try to offer any customer service unless they see a financial benefit to it. I think your money and time would be much more valued at higher quality salons.

Tiffani is by far the best hair dresser I've ever had. I first found her five years ago after a…read morefriend posted pictures of her new hair color and knew I had to see her. Before this, I didn't trust anyone and chose to not see a hair dresser at all instead of over paying and leaving dissatisfied. Even when I lived in Palm Beach for two years I still flew back to New Orleans just to get my hair done by her. She is a hair genius! Attached are pictures from my first visit to her five years ago and my latest one a week ago. You won't regret seeing her!

This review has been in my draft box for way to long! But I've been here at least 4 times since I…read morestarted my review, so I can attest that not only is this place A-MAZ-ING but they're consistent, which is even more important IMHO. Naturally I love all things glam, and the Glam Bar is no exception. My stylist at the Glam Bar is Sadie, and to put it lightly she is completely amazing! I've been seeing her since she was at her previous salon and followed her here to her new home, and I've gotta say I really love the environment here. The vibe is sleek and modern and everything is brand spanking new and sparkly. Get ready to relax and get pampered! Did you forget to grab a drink or small bite to eat before coming in for you appointment? No prob! You don't have to sit there in agony, while your stomach growls like the lion at the Audubon Zoo- because they offer various assorted snacks, Keurig coffee, soda, water, wine- just help yourself! The stylists here all seem extremely talented, but I have only seen my girl Sadie, and she is just the bees knees. Not only is she the sweetest and easiest person on earth to talk to but girls got talent! She always executes the style and color I request, but at this point I usually ask her to do her thang because she knows what works for my hair color, face shape, etc. Like any great stylist, she frequently attends seminars to stay up to date on the latest and greatest techniques, so you can always feel confident taking your crazy hair fantasy to her to turn it into reality! Other services they offer are eyelash extensions, brow waxing and spray tanning. I haven't had the opportunity to try these services out yet, but as soon as I get some extra cash I plan on giving the lash extensions and spray tanning a go! Go visit Sadie @the Glam Bar and get ready to meet the new, beautiful you!

They also asked if we wanted to make it a couples massage, which was really nice too. Driving up the place, it is a little odd the way the business is. The front faces Veterans, but you can't really drive up to it and park, you have to park in the back and go through the back which is the hair salon part. Anyway, after that tiny bit of confusion, we were welcomed by the front desk. And eventually our 2 masseuces. We went up the stairs and there are these very clean, changing rooms with lockers to change into our nice relaxing robes. The massages themselves were so very relaxing. The masseuce applied the perfect amount of pressure and my husband said the same about his massage. The heated towels were wonderful. The relaxing spa music was wonderful. The temperature level in the room was wonderful too. I highly recommend this place for a nice, realxing, and (maybe!) the same day massage.

So glad I found Glow!!!!!! I just recently moved to the Metairie area, and was feeling those "self…read morecare in a new city" nerves. After a very underwhelming haircut and balayage at a different salon, I decided to give Glow a go. I believe the gal who I saw was Elizabeth, and she was nothing but delightful and friendly from the very start. I absolutely love my haircut, and she worked a color miracle on my tresses (I was still dealing with the remnants of red dye from two years ago - ugh). The salon itself is beautiful - light, airy, and welcoming. It was packed the Saturday I went, and they use/sell some really top notch products. I've said it a million times, but I'm so glad I found Glow! This is my new hair salon!

I only leave negative reviews when it's extremely warranted and my experience with Glow Hair Salon…read morewas so disappointing that I feel obligated to share it. I became a client in January for tape in extensions, which were completely new to me. While my stylist was kind, I received very little guidance on caring for my extensions and had to educate myself afterward. My first concern arose when I was quoted $230 at checkout but was charged $290. Since my card information was entered manually and I wasn't shown the final charge or given a receipt, I called the salon simply to understand the discrepancy. They explained that the service was actually $290, and once I understood, I accepted the explanation and moved on. The matter was never argued or pursued further. After my initial appointment, multiple extensions fell out. The stylist reinstalled them, but I later switched to another stylist (outside of Glow) who moved up my extensions. During that entire appointment cycle, I had zero extensions fall out, which made me confident the issue was not how I was caring for them. I later returned to Glow because I wanted to give this stylist another chance. Although I was interested in switching to a different stylist at the salon, I kept my appointment with the original one because I didn't want to cancel a large block of her schedule at the last minute. Unfortunately, within weeks of that appointment, multiple extensions fell out again. Each time, I had to make additional 40 minute round trips to the salon to have them reinstalled. The stylist checked all of my extensions during those visits, yet they continued to fail. When they came out, the adhesive itself had very little tack, suggesting the problem was not my care of the extensions. I take excellent care of both my hair and my extensions and had already demonstrated that with another stylist. In addition, the color I received washed out after only 3 weeks, which was another disappointing outcome. When yet another extension fell out and I contacted the salon, I was told the owner no longer wanted me as a client because my return visits were taking too much of the stylist's time and because I had previously (kindly) questioned them on the charge dispute. Rather than standing behind their work or trying to resolve an ongoing service issue, they chose to dismiss me as a client entirely, including preventing me from booking with the other stylist I had hoped to see. I am a professional woman in my mid 30s and have never been asked to leave or banned from any business. Throughout every interaction, I remained respectful, polite, and understanding. To be treated this way for reporting repeated issues with a service I paid for was honestly shocking. While this particular stylist is pleasant, I believe she is still gaining experience as a stylist. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering services here to proceed with caution. If a salon's response to repeated workmanship issues is to remove the customer rather than address the problem, that says a great deal about how they handle client concerns and take accountability.
