I previously wrote a positive review, before I knew what was going on with my haircuts. I went to this salon for about a year, and always requested long layers. That means some hair in the back should be cut a little above the rest, so that it's not so thick. Well, instead I got angles (face framing, very short around the face) and SHORT layers. I didn't know why for months on end why I felt uncomfortable wearing my hair completely down. I kept wearing the sides up, because in every photo of myself, it looked like I had a short bowl cut with long strings coming down!! It was a very big year for me, and after one event's photos were ruined because of this haircut, I decided to switch salons. The hairdresser there said he couldn't believe how short they had been cutting the back. He showed me with a mirror, and my "long layers" were at eye level!! I have very thick hair, so of course this was making me look awful!! After 2 years of trying to grow my hair out, I had to just chop it all, so that my hair could finally be one length. I had appointments for nails to be done for myself and three daughters. The person supposed to do some of the appt had left early and we were not informed of this, and other took forever to get us . We were there for three hours, and I even get my service done. And we were never informed of the issue with the person that had left. And they did a poor job on the nails. I called and asked how much for a mens haircut. I was told that it starts at $40.00-$60.00 depending on the stylist. When I one to pay I was told it was $60.00. Supposedly due to the expertise of the stylist. But they can't tell you when you book an appt who the stylist is going to be and how much they will charge! I don't get it. If its based on the expertise of the stylist, don't you know who those are???? Had a pedicure done. The woman used a clause remover on the top of my feet. I had some small white dry sin bumps. It was too sharp or too much force, but my foot started to bleed. the woman went and got a bandaid and put it on. Then off to manicure. When I got home I took a picture of my foot and called the owner. She was rude, defensive and said that she would review the camera footage. Never heard back. If you don't care about how much things cost....have at it. Personally I like to know how much my haircut is going to be ahead of time. read more

And I did exactly that. I sent her a picture of my current hair and my hair goals along with my hair history. Marissa was so sweet and fun to work with! She can keep up with a conversation, but also allow you to have your quiet time (I like reading while getting my hair done and catching up on some work) She is smart and observant. I passed this place one evening and could see through the front doors and thought it was so pretty I needed to see what it was. Fast forward a few months and I made an appointment with Brittany. I stopped in for a consultation and got a good idea of cost and time it would take. I went in the following week for my appt. When I walked in I was greeted by two very sweet ladies and shown where I would sit. I had my step daughter and we were both offered drinks and snacks. Brittany did my hair but Caroline assisted and both were some of the nicest stylist I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I came in with copper/dark blonde/brown and left with a beautiful cool bayalage. I couldn't be any happier with the way they cut, colored and styled my hair. Completely professional and so good at their jobs. I also got a gel mani and it looks great! They had great convos with myself and my daughter. All around GREAT job! read more

As someone in the beauty industry that has been coming here for eight years and referring clients to them (high end as well); I am absolutely horrified at how my hair appointment was handled this past Tuesday. I had to go with another artist as my usual was booked up for the day. No biggie; all I wanted was a dusting focusing on keeping my length as I have been on a hair journey for years and it was finally past the breast. Along with long and short layers for dimension with the addition of curtain bangs. I came early with pictures of what I wanted and clear instructions. What I got was over three inches cut off with no short layers. When I was given the mirror to look at the back I was thrown into full body tingles. I looked at her and said I wanted a dusting to where she defensively told me layers takes off length. Duh! But why is all the length I've been working towards gone?!?! The definition of a dusting is a technique where a stylist removes only the damaged or split ends of hair, strand by strand, without significantly reducing the overall length. She then said she had to go grab someone to check her work and I never got an I'm sorry from her. After a few minutes my usual stylist came and saw the shock on my face. I explained what my instructions were and she said that the woman that did my cut was a newer stylist and she got scissor crazy. Also while mixing in whispered sorry's. What does being a newer stylist have to do with anything? Does she not work there?!? She said I wouldn't have to pay full price and told me to wait again while I sat there in still utter shock. She came back and repeated what she had already told me and said it's a great cut and implied that maybe I wasn't clear with my instructions. I'm a Virgo! My brain doesn't know how to be unclear. I was ushered to the register to realize my discount was $10. At no point was I offered any kind of fix or anything. I got the just that they just wanted me to silently leave. I never saw the stylist responsible again as I'm sure she was hiding in the back waiting for me to leave. After a couple hours I began to think more clearly and am ashamed at how I let myself be treated. I sent an Instagram message to let them know how unhappy I was and got no response and then yesterday sent an email to let the owner know about the situation but I'm sure she was aware. I was trying to handle everything privately because I really did like this place. I would have called as well but they rarely answer the phone and I'm sure they wouldn't pick up for me. I'm beyond disappointed and hope this review helps someone who would also be devastated at the treatment. As a business that seems to pride themselves on customer service online; I would take another look at how you deal with your patrons. I'd do 0 stars if it was an option. read more

My first Yelp review! My daughter purchased a Gift Card for Mother's Day which I used once. I had a remaining balance of $27. Then Covid happened and no one was going to spas. When I called to verify my balance and make an appointment, I was told that there was no balance. At the end of the year, if not used, they wipe the balance off their computer. I had the actual card and went into the store with no luck getting them to honor the card, which also had the paper receipt showing the balance! The owner refused to talk to me. I contacted the BBB, they did not reply. I contacted the Attorney Generals office per the BBBs advice to report Deceptive Trade Practices, they did not reply. Both suggested I get an attorney, which is not worth it for $27. There is a law La rs 51:1423 which states all gift cards must have an expiration date PRINTED on the card. Do not use this spa, there are too many other spas with better customer service! Especially over a measly $27. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS HERE. As far as my first and last spa service The Weekend Spa, it was just Ok, I have had much better. read more

This place was great at first but quickly fell to a one status. They later became very offensive. Several of their good nail technicians have left and they only seem to Cater to a specific clientele. The owner is full of himself in other words he thinks he's the best in the city, NOT! Their prices depend on what technician does your nails. When the owner does your nails it's about 20% more expensive. The cost for a full set, dipped, by the owner, no design, is $60 plus an expected tip of 10, 15, 20 percent or more. He gets very upset if you don't like your nails and circumvent the process by blaming the concern on the customer. He ended up being extremely rude and unprofessional in his attempt to scold me, an adult! Never, will I return. He's so full of himself, he would most likely say he doesn't need me as a client! read more

Clean place but worst pedicure we have ever had. Mother in law and I get pedicures regularly and this place likely great for hair and makeup but shouldn't do pedicures. I told the person doing my nails that I had ingrown and that still didn't prompt some deeper cleaning . Polishing the nails wasn't great either there is bubbles and uneven tone on both my legs ( picture below unsure if you can see it ) mother in law was disappointed because none of the dead skin was removed from her feet and also couldn't get her ingrowns out. The person who did her toes also didn't seem to happy about doing them and she was rushing . Will never come here again ! read more

This location is the epitome of relaxation!! My stylist, Vy Bui, moved here upon its opening Oct/Nov; besides being a wonderful and talented stylist, she is always ready with ideas!! She has pictures galore to provide some insight or thought provoking ideas, yet doesn't overwhelm you with so many that you forget or get lost in the ideas! You can tell her exactly what you want or just let her take over. In the 5 or so years I have been seeing her, she has never let me down. I think I have only ever told her short & shorter yet in that time. She colors, highlights, cuts, & fixes your hair to look great. Like most, I always want to be able to style it the way it looks that first sitting. I let her know & she is happy to show me the techniques. Though I never quite achieve the same style, I always walk away a happy customer. She will soon be doing eyelash extensions & I can't wait to try that out!! Vy Bui is your go to stylist & I highly recommend her!! Another perk of this new location: while you wait on your color to set, just step to the other side and get a mani or pedi. Not much to say except I won't be back. I feel like I was being bullied today From the owner, Tommy. My first visit to him at the old location he wasn't like this he seems more unhappy now he was extremely rude to me because I had to cancel my appointment two hours prior. This would've been my only second appointment at the new location not once in my three visits of the last Three years have anyone from the salon ever told me that there was a cancellation policy. I can't imagine how many other people don't know about this so today I was threatened that I was going to be charged with a percentage for my canceled appointment and then I was told that I should've read the sign in front of the desk. I do not recall even looking down below the counter last time I went there like who would ever do that? It would be much necessary if your clients were aware at the time that they came in or called for an appointment. otherwise, it looks like you're running a deceptive business and blindsiding your clients. Most people are not honest about knowing, but I have nothing to be dishonest about. They truly never told me a thing then he said well we texted you a reminder and I said I know I got the reminder but in your reminder, there's also no warning about a cancellation fee, and so after he put me down about how businesses lose money because of clients like me, I have had enough at that point. I am so jealous that we don't have The Weekend Salon in my own hometown! We were visiting from Georgia and I was searching for a space for a facial and manicure/pedicure. Originally I was going to go multiple places but when searching The Weekend Salon offered it all (win, win!) I spoke with a team member on the phone who was so kind and confirmed any services available/unavailable and even offered their newest nail services. When I arrived the Salon energy was so much fun! A gentleman greeted me at the front desk, confirmed my visit and introduced me to Dwayne who would do my manicure and pedicure. They were some of the friendliest people, took their time and made sure the visit was worth my own time and investment. While the schedule for a walk-in facial didn't allow, they did their best to fit me in for an eye brow wax too! The cost was comparable to most salons/spas. Beautiful new salon that just opened in Metairie. The interior is huge and spacious and I love the minimal, modern, rustic chic decor. It's really cute inside! I didn't realize this initially, but they do offer manis & pedis as well as hair services, waxing, etc and are open seven days a week. I checked out their list of services and pricing at the front desk when I walked in and was surprised at how reasonable their menu was. After being disappointed several times in the past, I was on the hunt for a new hairstylist. I made my first appointment for color with Brittany and I'm so glad I did! She did an awesome job and I love my color because she gave me exactly what I was looking for. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and made helpful suggestions, but was never pushy (which I really appreciate). I ended up getting some color, a deep conditioning treatment and a few hair care products to try out. This is one of the most nicest nail and hair salon in Metairie. Better yet, the entire New Orleans. Located next to Trader Joe's in the new retail plaza, off of Veterans and down the street from Lakeside Mall, the whole entirety is pretty impressive. The interior is modern chic with rustic undertones. Plenty of manicure tables and pedicure seats are available. And the hair salon side also features chairs that go to infinity. I came here with some of my friends and was immediately greeted by some of the most friendliest staff. Although, I didn't get anything done, they treated me like a VIP Customer, nevertheless. Complimentary drinks are provided and big smiles follow. I'm more of a manly man, but they informed and then showed me the private rooms to to get a private session. They have TV's that line the wall for the boyfriends and husbands waiting. A one stop shop for nails, hair and eyebrows.
