This store is ok considering the mall is nearly empty. I found two dresses, as I'm needing one for an upcoming occasion. Big sales on them too. It's really quiet since there aren't many sales associates and nearly no shoppers at all. The salesperson at the desk near the mall entrance/exit is very unfriendly, though. I've shopped here for many years and I'm just gonna say that customer service has taken a serious nose dive. I bought seven hundred dollars worth of clothing today and the cashier just folded it in half, asked me to hold the bag and then shoved it in. When ringing each item up, she flung the shirts around and hit me with the first three. When I moved out of way each time, she finally said sorry. I asked her to take the hangers off and she looked at me and said no we don't and laughed. I worked customer service in a retail store many moons ago and would have gotten fired for that kind of behavior. read more

There's something going on at Eastgate JCP. Sales everywhere. Not just the run of the mill but the designer stuff, too. I'm not sure where the future of the surrounding mall stands. Today, we flourish. One tool that benefits is surfing for coupons and groupon. Then there's the rewards program. Mrs. E. claims there's a definite advantage over the other department stores. You also need to know your products. Between the advertised sale price and the coupon discount we saved over $200 today. When we compared this to online it was cheaper, we got to try things on, didn't pay for shipping and selected the creme of the crop. Penneys is the constant we rely on for brands like Haggar, Stafford and St. John's Bay. This store is much bigger than we're used to, but we found everything in time. The ladies were all very helpful, the young man that rang us up bent over backwards to accommodate. He even ran downstairs to find Mrs.E. another teddy bear. PRO TIP: pay for your items upstairs and see if this kid is working. He's worth it. 12/21 read more

I've worked at JCPenney for a year and I am finally quitting and I would just like to let everyone know how poorly they treat everyone there especially if you actually don't job. The boss is a total narcissist and degrades everybody. She doesn't know what she's doing at all and is the reason for the store going to shitband likes to blame everything on everyone else when we do all that we can and not to mention the pay is ass. I am very grateful for the people I worked with that made it a little better everyday and I'm sorry they are still having to deal with the unfairness in that work environment. it's truly terrible. read more

I am not really a JC Penney shopper. What I experienced was mostly while browsing before and after a couple photo shoots at the portrait studio. The portrait studio is located upstairs amongst the children's section. More about the studio may be found on my JCP Portraits review. Sephora and a hair salon are also inside this location. Sephora is located towards the center of the first floor. It is equal in size to other Sephora inside of a JCP I have seen. The hair salon is near one of the entrances. One of the entrances near woman's clothing. The store smelled clean. We were there in the morning, and the store smelled like bleach around the entrance. We also saw people vacuuming. Periodic tables of hand sanitizer are about. The one place hand sanitizer is not, but it would be good for it to be is near where people disembark the escalators. For safety reasons, not right in front, but close by would be nice.There was a sanitizer station before getting on. There was none before getting on or off of the down escalator. Items were decently stocked for the time of year. Our visits were just before, and a week after the X-mas rush. read more

I have surprisingly had good luck at this Penney's location, despite not being a fan of the chain overall. I generally find that unless you have their credit card, items are way more expensive than competitors (for literally the same brand name items). Each time I have come here, I am looking for something specific and have actually found a good deal! Good might be an understatement... more like insane clearance deal that makes the item crazy cheap. Most recently I got a $100 dress for $10. The store is fairly clean and organized, although a bit outdated. The staff is friendly and helpful. Find everything from clothing to shoes, accessories, sephora, home goods, and I believe they have appliances upstairs (this is a 2 floor location). read more

One step above Sears and just below Kohls. They tried years ago to eliminate coupons. It didnt work. Many store brands and lower name brands. Quality is acceptable. I bought some clothes before Christmas and the prices were higher after Christmas. Online experience is ok. However picking up items bought online or returning them is a pain. You have to go to the 2nd floor to the furthest point. Kohls was smart and moved their Customer service to the first floor. Kohls cash keeps me going back. JCP should learn. read more

I went there on Black Friday. They had some pretty good deals as long as you bought before 1PM. Nice thing is that I didn't have to get there at 2AM to get the deals. They had run out of some products but the staff was helpful and ordered online for me. I'll go back to the store read more

Went to kohl's to buy a dress shirt. Poor service no help very pricey. Went to JCPennys met a lady Named katlyn. Asked if she could help me right away. Bought 3 shirts and a UK jacket. Price is not terribly important for me but the items I picked out totaled about $220. When I checked out sale price was $94 for everything. Great experience. Someone should thank katlyn. read more

So JC Penny is running a special this August. Free haircuts for schools kids for the entire month. Sounds like a deal! So I call August 1st to get an appointment for my three hooligans. They're booked until August 14! Holy smokes. So we made our appointment. Came in about ten minutes early and they were ready for us. I just walked in, the lady at the counter asked me my name, she typed it in the computer, printed out the reservations tickets for my three kids and each wen right into a chair and got started. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:00 and by 3:20 we were out of there. Staff was nice and didn't rush us through. The hairdresser working with my five-year-old was especially wonderful as that five-year-old a non-stop chatter box who is very difficult to understand...unless you happen to be one of her parents of course. Anyway, loved it! But make sure you don't just walk in because chances are they won't have room for you (as one woman who drove over an hour for a haircut for her daughter learned). And while the haircuts are free, don't forget to tip the hairdressers. read more

I'm a fan of the JC Penny's...and ya know why? They have a delightful fat guy section of clothing. And, they're usually decently priced. Normally, for fat guys, you've gotta spend like $70 on a button up shirt...here, I can get that same shirt for $20...and I like it. read more

My review is for the portrait studio. I would give them 10 stars if I could. My husband and I got newborn photos for our baby, and the staff was amazing! The photographer did a great job of soothing our baby if he started to get fussy, and the poses were beyond cute! The photos themselves turned out great too! We had 2 coupons, and they let us know which one would benefit us the most. Being first time parents, we were unsure of how this would go (whether out baby would cooperate, whether he peed through his outfits, etc...). They made it so easy for us! We will be going back for more pictures in a few months! read more

Typical department store chain...prices are comparable to stores like Sears, Kohls, and Walmart, and way less than Dillard's. You can save money when they have a Saturday sale going on...got 3 screen tees for $28 with a coupon. I love to save money wherever I can and this was a bargain. Customer service from manager Kathy was horrible. She was extremely rude and her tone was uncalled for. When store credit was offered instead of money returned, it was laughable. We will not be coming back to JC Penny in Eastgate, and suggest others stay away from this location as well. read more
