I honestly had no idea that.this..was..still a thing shopping at JcPenny's. I'm not blind I've seen the logo but have never shopped there in my adult years. When I was younger I'd go with my older Aunt and my grandparents who actually still shop JcPennys and Belk Religiously. So I was a bit put off when my 20 something single co worker was like "On our lunch break lets go to JcPenny's!" I was like "Okay." Very unsure about going an randomly I had this thought that it would smell like my nanna's house, you know moth balls Red Door perfume & bacon.(Lol) This may seem a little bit insensitive but Thats what I thought. But It wasn't like that at all. My co worker took back some items she previously purchased, while I just sort of roamed around they had really cute children's clothes but I don't have any small children. The shoes were cute I tried on a few. I don't know maybe it's just not my type of store. I'm more of a Macy's, Dillards type of girl. The store was very clean well organized and most of the employees were polite. Although my review is mostly my personal thoughts. This review is for the salon. I've got my hair done there for the past couple of years. I showed up for a booked appointment with my stylist . I was in the waiting area when she came in & she said hi as she passed. I had been waiting for about 20 minutes past my appointment time then and I was ok with it. But she left me waiting 30 more minutes. Then I guess it was a friend of hers, walked up and she came out and talked to her. It was clear that she wasn't expecting this person. They talked for a few minutes then went to the back. About 15 or so minutes later I asked somone about my appointment that I was still waiting for so she went to the back to ask the stylist for me. A little while later the girl came back and told me that the stylist asked her to let me know that she wouldn't have time for me today. I had already been there waiting for almost 2 hours past my appointment time and now she doesn't have time for me today? Soo very rude!! And the manager was unwilling to do anything. I've made sure to book with other stylists since then and they've done a good job on my hair but there have been a couple of other times when I felt like I was not treated well. I don't know why, I'm a very easygoing person. I've never been picky or rude and I always tip well. The work is good but I'm tired of unfair and unprofessional treatment so I'll find another salon. read more

I think people sleep on JC Penny nowadays. But JC Penny kinda goes hard. They have a Sephora inside and my favorite brand of jeans. Levi's. They have astros gear etc. and everything is at a fair price. I enjoy department stores that are in strip centers because I can avoid the crowd/parking at a mall. I took away 1 star because every time I have a coupon, the clerks tell me I can't use it. I had a 15% coupon off of anything and the fine print clearly said it was for anything and even mentioned "no matter how you pay". But the clerk told me my coupon couldn't be used on Levi jeans. But the coupon didn't say that. Otherwise, an easy place to shop read more

I was in a rush. It I needed something cute for a meeting and I was able to find everything I needed and without a hassle. I forgot my card but Lucia was able to check me out easily with my drivers license and my phone number. Awesome customer service easy to find cute clothing. read more

Watch out for the rude black guy standing in front. He's bugging people for baskets and if you don't give it to him he gets mad. Not the best experience I've had there. When I was finished with my basket I went to give it to him and he didn't say a word to me and just stood there staring at me with an ugly look on his face looking mad not acknowledging the whole time. Just ignored me. We ended up having a stair down for a while until I stuck the bird at him and walk out. Very disappointed in JCpennys for hiring such a jerk like him. read more

I usually find something when I come into this particular JCP. Pretty clean, neat, and tidy shelves and displays. Only problem I have is with checkout with my coupons. I found out today that the survey coupon that's included on your receipt cannot be combined with the 20/15 percentage discount that the store usually offers (BTW--JCP takes mobile coupons). Disappointing. They use to take a number of coupons for one transaction back in the day. However, I do know that anything I buy at JCP will LAST!!!! Their clothes have such longevity and quality. You cannot beat it! Plus the new mini checkout counters for credit and debit purchases have gotten me out of long train lines of waiting. BTW: Join the free JCP rewards program. I've gotten at least 2 $10 coupons this year to spend in the store. I don't buy a bunch of things, so it's really surprising to get these certificates. I'm sure it's all a ploy to get me to buy more, but it's nice to receive it anyway. read more

I never go in store unless it's to pick up something I order off the website. The lines to even pick up or exchange take forever. The only great thing I love is that I bought my husband a pair of jeans but the wrong length. I was able to exchange them in store for the same discounted price. I actually got the right pair which never happens. read more

Do not go to the salon! Minutes until I had to go to the back and ask for someone to get a haircut, then after waiting an additional 10 minutes I could hear the hairstylist saying that she didn't have clippers and the tools that she needed so I got up and left. Can't really talk about the haircut because I didn't get one. And will not be going back read more

Just popped in to pick up a gift card, on the way to a birthday party. It seems that you have to take your goods to the wall of cashiers at the front of the store to pay, not like in a bigger store where you can pay at an open register within the departments. This is a crowded mess! read more

I realize that there is zero department store competition in that area for Penney's but DAMN! They MUST be going through an identity crisis thinking they are Neiman Marcus! Prices at this store are totally outrageous. I only purchased some bedding there that was on sale and it was still too expensive. The employees were friendly and one young lady helped me carry some bags to my car but she said it was only to get away from her Hitler Youth Manager! I remarked on his overzealous flair on his badge but the remark was miles above his head-in the stratosphere! The only thing that really set the store apart is the Sephora department inside the store! This town definitely needs a beautification project! I hope better merchants and shopping choices are coming in the near future. read more

I have been to many-a-JC Penny and I found this one very clean and orderly. Even with the current construction work, everything was still clean. I went in one day looking for a small espresso pot (the kind that sits on the stove), and although they did not have one, the salesperson took the time to walk through the kitchen area with us to make sure they did not sell one. My second visit was to pick up an online order in Customer Service at the back of the store. There was only one clerk who was helping a client, but when a floor salesperson saw me waiting, she promptly attended to me and helped deliver my online order to me. All in all, as far as JC Penny stores go, the staff was friendly, although not as friendly as I have found in other stores, and this location is the cleanest and most orderly that I have seen. read more

This was the first time I have been in this store. Was looking for a dress for my daughter who has a special occasion coming up and about 3 "associates" passed us up talking and conversating with eachother. Noone ever asked us if we needed any help. One "associate" even practically ran away when I wanted to ask where to get what we were looking for (she didn't help us either, by the way). On the way out, we saw 5 "associates" talking and carrying on in a small group just laughing away and they never even acknowledged us either. After I had had enough of this ridiculousness, I told my daughter that I didn't want to spend my money in this store. We have been waiting for a while to go into this store since all the development is new and it was such a let down the way that we were treated. I guess since we don't look like we have a lot of money, we just weren't worthy enough to be given the time of day. Well, needless to say, as we were walking out, the power went off due to some work being done in the store. I guess there really is such a thing as Karma. read more
