We order in person and pick up the new glasses after a 25-mile drive to their West Hartford, CT store at the West Farms Mall. Ordering and fitting on-line are risks we aren't ready to take, but many people do this. But now we can visit Warby Parker by driving less than 5 miles to their newest location in the Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton, CT, where they took over space previously occupied by Coldwater Creek and a Yankee Candle pop-up store. The procedure was the same as it was in Manchester. You first meet with a salesperson to choose your frames, find (or set up) your account and order, confirm insurance, and review your prescription. Then an optician meets with you, makes sure the frame, lenses, and your prescription are all compatible with your face, etc. Then you finalize things with the salesperson, place the order, and await the arrival of your glasses. The young lady who helped us was new, and she did a nice job with a little help on some questions. Another young lady I spoke to was temporarily on loan from a WB Massachusetts location. The frame selection is amazing and range from simple conservative styles to bolder frames with color, shiny designs and more. Our glasses cost just $50 with insurance, and we were happy with the selection and service.

They work together really well like a family and when they are each busy, they invite you to try on frames and to relax and just wait for the next available associate.. i've been going there for years and had many prescriptions filled and they are always $200-$400 lower than any optician or doctors office. They also look to see what are the best deals for you and your prescription with your insurance. Yesterday was probably my sixth or seventh visit there over the years and I got two pairs of prescription glasses for less than half of what my doctors office wanted to charge me for one! There's never been a mistake or an error and they always call you when your glasses are in. I highly recommend this business.

Every time I get a prescription for new glasses I seem to go through the same tedious song and dance about extra charges for this, extra charges for that, reasons why accepting my insurance is a bad idea (because their "Sale specials" are cheaper) etc, etc, ad nauseum. All of that changed today when I walked into the Warby Parker store with a prescription from my eye doctor, and walked out with an order for a new pair of progressive glasses in a spiffy blue/black wire frame for just $395. I interacted with no less than three people - Kate, Adam, and Mark their optometrist. Kate asked me a bunch of questions about my frame preferences and directed me to the frames I wanted, Adam checked my prescription and made sure the frame would accommodate the thickness of my progressive lenses, and Mark took the measurements to be sure the lenses lined up where the center of my eyes were, It was a very pleasant experience. All three of the staff were polite and a pleasure to deal with. Within a few minutes of leaving the store I had already been e-mailed twice. Glasses should be ready the first week of April, and that's pretty darned speedy service!

A nice gentleman by the name of Doug Wilson assisted me during my visit. He was very patience and knowledgeable and asked me to take my time looking at glasses and if I had questions to come see him. I wanted to keep the same style of my old frame but try to find a new similar frame more up to date, which I did. Doug helped me with everything and I was extremely happy with my decision and the final price for my glasses. The customer service I received from this young person was exceptional. I picked up my glasses yesterday and Doug was there. He fitted them perfectly and even adjusted and clean my old glasses. I thank him and told him how grateful I was for coming here. I will definitely be coming again in the near future and will let my family and friends know. If you want excellent service and great prices this is the place to come. Trust me when I tell you the other five optical locations didn't beat Sam's price. I paid 50% less by coming to Sam's Optical.
