Could improve on Competent employees understanding their policies and accurately understanding which glasses they sold. Went to buy two identical pairs of glasses. Was told they were identical they in fact were not. Just extremely similar. Since I was told they were the same I was told it would be smart to only get one protection plan. Service is good people are nice, but the quality of the glasses they sell is very low. My glasses have broken four times in the last month, under low impact situations. (Picking up my 20 lb dog!) Two other people have walked in the door to have their glasses repaired for quality issues since I have been in the store. Lenses pop out screws fall out. Loose right out of the box. And they pull out of the "bolt" side of the screw mechanism. Poor quality metals are used in their glasses. They had to retap the screw hole. The metal in glasses should no be so soft! read more

Won't stand behind their glasses. Was given used frames because after being told my order was ready, only the lenses had arrived. Lenses lasted 10 months of normal wear and then wrecked too scratched to see out of, the store told me they would sell me new frames but refused to do anything about their low quality products. I first went to this office 2 years ago and had only good things to say about the operation; recommended them to more than just one person. This time, I swear I will never go back. The woman who did the "pre appointment" interview could not tell me the purpose of the procedure she was doing, (taking a picture of the inside of my eye), only what it would cost me. The MD never even looked me in the eye throughout the exam; the exam room was not clean, the exam chair ripped; the MD was short tempered during my exam. I've been seeing Dr. Aucello for a few years now and have always had a positive experience. The front staff is friendly and helpful, Dr. Aucello is incredibly nice and thorough and always takes a moment to ask how you are doing rather than rushing through his exam. They have a good selection of glasses and sunglasses and their optician is helpful in picking these out and also is very honest if you ask her opinion about what looks good on you and what doesn't, lol. Just had my annual visit today and had yet another positive experience. This used to be Dr. Aucello's private practice and is now owned by another company but the overall look and feel of the place doesn't seem much different to me which is a great thing. read more

I was called by this establishment at around 3:30pm on Friday and was told they canceled my appointment for Saturday morning the next day and gave it to someone else although I made the appointment over a month prior. Strangely enough when talking to me they said they couldn't get in contact with me to confirm and that's why they canceled my appointment. Hmmmmm next available was another month into the futureWhat's the purpose in scheduling appointments. I went to the South Windsor office this past Saturday (10-21) with a friend of mine who has a disabled son who was in need of new glasses because his frames broke. We were seen Immediately and (sorry if I am getting the name wrong) Christine had amazing patience with Luis as he tried on a number of frames. Because he had a very unusual prescription she informed us that it would take almost three weeks for his new glasses to come in. However, she went above and beyond and told us that she would try and fix his broken frames so he could have glasses until his new ones arrived. Because he is legally blind this was a huge help to us and within an hour or so after us leaving she repaired the old frames and he was able to use them. And she charged us nothing for this service. Christine had a wonderful sense of humor, explained everything in detail, looked for the best deal for us and more importantly treated Luis with compassion and kindness. We were so impressed we even went to Crumbl and bought some cookies for the staff. read more

I normally go to the one in Rocky Hill, but the customer service has declined over the years, and this one is much closer to me. As soon as I walked in one of the women complemented my glasses by telling me that they were very nice and five years old in style Nice way to try to get me to buy a new pair insult me the woman behind the desk did my eye exam she was very nice. She was very knowledgeable and she's definitely an asset to the office for Dr. spent the first 15 minutes going over the cost of contact lenses I came there to get an eye exam not to get hustled into buying stuff, fortunately she finally got around to the eye exam and thanks to Covid and other illnesses. It has been over here for me so I knew my vision had changed. I'm happy with the prescription the front Desk helped me order some. that were only on sale that day and I just got them in the mail if I were ever going to buy glasses although they have a beautiful selection I don't think you need to insult someone to get them to buy a new pair I don't generally we are glasses because they give me a headache so the next time I go I'm sure she'll be telling me that they are the six years old style read more

I went to the Avon office 2 years ago and was not happy. The people were very pushy, the eye glass selection was minimal and the office was small and dark. This was not the case at this location. Bright and beautiful with lots of choices for eye wear. So HAPPY I made my appointment at this location. Right from when I first stepped into the store I was greeted with a smile and kindness and was checked in right away. While I waited for my eye exam Argentina started helping me with frames. Since I have never worn glasses before she explained which glass designs were better for my face features. Loved her personality and she helped me picked out some glasses that in her words were "sexy and spicy". Love them and can't wait to pick them up. She even put a rush on them as I'm going out of town. The lady that did my pre testing (sorry I can't remember her name) was nice and helpful. Explaining the new machine they use instead of those awful eye drops that you normally have to have. Then I saw Dr. Stephanie Sullivan who was great at explaining the pictures of my eyes and the health of my eyes. Walked out feeling great and well taken care of. Can't wait to pick up my new glasses. As a person that has never liked any place I have gone to I can't recommend this company and location enough! read more
