Today when shopping with my mom, she was looking for a fitting room when out of nowhere from the complete other side of the store, a woman yells at us, "FITTING ROOMS ARE CLOSED FOR 20 MINUTES!" No reason. No sorry. Just a rude scream. I heard her minutes later tell another woman, "All I can do is apologize" as if she's said it a million times, with zero sincerity, making me think she said something rude to that woman as well. Alas, 20 minutes later, the fitting room was still not open. In addition to that, nothing seems to be organized in a thoughtful way. Where you expect things to be, they're not there. When I've ordered online and gone to pick things up, it's an easy process so long as there's actually someone at the counter to get your stuff. I feel like it's not often that you stumble across a standalone JCPenney. I've certainly never visited one before. That changed when my mom wanted to look at ladies clothing last weekend and I suggested a visit to this location. It's right off of 64 to Richmond's east in the area flush with chain stores. It's right near Target, PetSmart, and Publix, among others. The store seemingly is an older model and doesn't look like it's had any remodeling recently. Still, it was clean and easy to walk through, and they had all the essentials one would expect from the brand. It was February, but I was able to snag a super cute bathing suit for an upcoming [warm] vacation at a good price. I also grabbed a couple comfy sweatpants for dirt cheap (I think $14 at most). I'm wearing one of them right now and they fit so well. I'm seriously tempted to go back and buy other colors. There's only one fitting room from what I saw, but it's pretty spacious and has some seating out front, which was nice. read more

Out of all of the JCPenney locations, this one is the best. The employees are always nice and are always looking to save you some money. The selection is also better than any other location. Someone complained about the line up at the front but I have a different opinion about it--I like it because you aren't constantly walking around to find a checkout location--you know that it's at the front. well i just found out my ring i paid $1,689 for was fake ! i will take them to court !! never buy anything from them ever again!

I was in the store shopping and the prices that were in the rack were not even close to what was rung up at the register. I ended up not getting one shirt because of this. Then I looked on the app and was going to buy more clothes, at well over 100 dollars. They said that was only if I order online and pick up in the store. They said I could do that but it would take 3 hours, even though the items were in my hands at the counter. They said they cannot honor or match jc penny online codes or coupons. So they just lost out on around a $140 purchase because of this. The ladies at the counter were nice and friendly and understanding. But this is a ridiculous policy. Now I doubt I will be coming back to this location anymore which in turn loses them more money. read more

I love the way that JC Pennys clothes fits me overall they have a lot to pick from. I love the sports wear and the jeans are great.

Store is horribly organized and stocked. Parts are bare bones and is almost like shopping at a discount shop like TJ MAXX. staff doesn't seem to care about ANYTHING but eating their chips and chewing their gum. And don't get me started with on line customer service. Their automated system is broken. You get all the way to the point of entering in your expiration date and they can't accept the information provided. Tried multiple times from multiple phones. I shouldn't be charged a late fee because your system is flawed. Until you fix it... you should reverse every late fee. Not a problem now, though. You won't see another dime of my money. This is why people don't shop with you. THIS is why you will close. read more

Many don't think of JCPenney as the go to store in this day and time. It's one of those stores from back in the day like Thalhimers. Many don't know that there's lots of deals on great items such as Levi's and other clothing as well as household items like linens and towels. This is Richmond's newest location. By far, it has the most to choose from. It was busy when I was there but steady so there was no wait in line to purchase items. JCPenney rewards offers rewards to customers and coupons via email or text on sale items. I've been pleased with the great deals that I've found at JCPenney and very pleased with the selection at this location. read more

This location is my go-to place. They always have the merchandise stocked and neat compared to other stores in this shopping center. Their rewards program is great as well. The Sephora store is always stocked and the staff in JCP and Sephora are friendly and helpful for the most part. read more

This is for the JC Penny Salon in Sandston, Virginia. I've been married to my wife for years and I've never seen her as upset as she was today after she left this salon. She told them what she wanted and even gave them a picture. They butchered her hair to the point where another lady had to fix it. THEN they had the animosity to charge her! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 2 hours in a salon with 3 little kids - all for what should have been a simple trim, that I've done myself in the past. What makes this worse is we are going to her brothers wedding and will see family we haven't seen in years. Unbelievable that a business like this could remain in business. I will be writing regional and corporate management as well. read more

This is one of my favorite stores to shop in... But I'm mad at myself cause I went there today hoping to find a jacket I saw weeks ago... I couldn't find it :( and I really wanted it. My trip today wasn't in van In though... I ended up buying the work out gear I needed for my 10 k race I'm in this weekend.. So I got over the loss of the jacket. Anyhoo.. This JCPenney is located at White Oak Village. The store is very spacious, clean, and modern. I enjoy shopping at this JCPenney because it's well maintained. The store stays stocked and prices are reasonable. Different brands can be found like Nike, Adidas, Levi, and Dockers. Also, Sephora is located inside. Customer Service is usually good. The employees are polite. There's plenty of parking in front of the store for customers. JCPenney is a good choice for reasonably priced apparel. read more

***Terrible Customer Service***Came in this past Friday to pick up my order. Went to the back of the store/ Window treatment counter. Associate named Angelo was working w/an elderly woman. I waited and waited. Approx 15 minutes passes and I was never greeted, spoken to or acknowledged in any way. He wouldn't even make eye contact. He finished helping her and walked away. I couldn't believe it. This is the 2nd time I've been disrespected by the associates in this store. This associate is black, his customer was black and I am not. read more

Nice, very clean store with a good selection. My favorite JCPenney store to visit in the Richmond area. Store associates are polite and even offer to use a coupon for you if you did not bring one. The only complaint I have about this store is that the checkout line at the front is always too long, really wish JCPenney would bring back the checkout counters placed all around the store. read more

One of the best JCPenneys I've ever been too. Always clean and east to shop and I love how the isles are not crammed with merchandise (except around the women's shoe and Arizona section) and you can share the isle with other customers. I love how certain sections are branded and they stand out from the rest (like Nike and a lot of men's areas) it's like shopping in a fancier store lol!! I wish you had more selection in men's shoes. Like Nike. It seems that you have the basic assortment. There's a lot of space for more! And maybe better seating. Those little stools don't do much. I like how you dress your mannekins too. Whoever does that give nice options for to look at and shop. I've been to regency before and that place is trashy compared to here. read more
