Both companies, in writing, stated that the flooring "wasn't installed correctly". We ended up having to REMOVE the entire flooring and had a competent installer reinstall the entire floor. GH Flooring would not admit to the mistake or correct the mistake. Their response was " its close enough". We recommend to stay away from them. If on the off chance they cause damage to your home, (which they did in our home and refused to take responsibility) or install the flooring incorrectly, they won't correct it. Completely unprofessional and unworthy. Please take heed of our warning and just go with a real professional installer. Do yourself a favor and avoid the expense and hassle of having to do your floor twice.

Even now, we think they did an outstanding job laying new hardwood and sanding. However, 1 year later the floors were showing a lot of wear after supposedly using 3 coats of Duraseal oil based polyurethane. 4 years later we now have to refinish our floors. In multiple areas the color has completely worn away and in some other areas it's peeling. I even reached out to Duraseal to find out if this lack of durability is expected. They told me that it's possible if they didn't apply enough layers, didn't give it enough time to dry between layers, or applied it too thin or thick. Since we were not living at the house when the work was done we couldn't monitor this. Since they were sloppy enough to dent our new floor with cans, they could've been sloppy applying Duraseal. The companies coming in to quote us to refinish our floors are flabbergasted at the amount of wear in such a short period of time. Every vendor said it looks like they didn't apply enough coats. I'm not sure what the actual reasoning is. Hardwood Guys had competitive pricing. However, it cost us more in the long run. Now, we have to pay a second time, deal with dust, VOCs, and smell, in addition to being displaced with a young child to redo the work that should've been done properly in the first place.

I let him know what I needed and he even came that same night after hours to do a consultation. Once he assessed, and understood the urgency he sent a quote that night, and made an appt that same week to install the door/door frame. He sent me all my options and picked everything up at Home Depot for me so I didn't have to move a finger. Dorian answered texts promptly, was very careful with his work, and kept me updated throughout the day on progress/issues he found when installing my door. While he was working he listened to my needs and customized the door to what I needed. The first time was when I needed red oak floors toned down to match white oak floors in an adjoining room. Hermes used a specialty product that he custom formulates for your specific floors, and he gladly adjusted samples until I was completely satisfied. He created the perfect match, and more than four years later, my red oak floors still look amazing. I recently called Hermes again to correct a job done by my contractor's flooring sub. They had installed new white oak floors and refinished them, but the finished result was full of debris, bubbles, sander marks, and uneven wavy patterns that they blamed on "bad subflooring." I needed the floors redone properly, so I called Hermes for help. Within 36 hours, he had his crew here, and they corrected every single issue. The floors are now flawless -- smooth, clean, perfectly finished, and not a speck of debris anywhere. What impressed me even more was Hermes himself. Despite cleaning up another company's mistakes, he never said a single negative word about them. The only thing he said was, "We all have different ways of doing things."
