I am local to the area and this is my favorite neighborhood place for breakfast. It ranks up there for a good place to eat lunch too. I usually eat here once or twice a month and typically invite my parents and bring my kids with me. My 9 year old daughter loves this place for breakfast and will sometimes wake me up early (7 a.m.) on a Sunday morning and ask if I want to take her to JC's for breakfast. The prices are very reasonable. In my experience the service is usually decent, oftentimes it is even friendly. The food has been reliably good. For breakfast I usually get JC's big breakfast or JC's little breakfast. They do a good job preparing over easy eggs and the thick cuts of smoked bacon are cooked just to the point of being crispy. The "big breakfast" is served with home fries or hash browns - I only order hash browns and they are pretty good. I like crispy hash browns but have learned that they probably won't be served crispy even if I ask for it. The servers are pretty good at making it around to refill your coffee cup once or twice before you have finished eating, but there have been a few times when it was clear the one cup was all that was going to be served. If you order pancakes you have to pay a few dollars extra for real maple syrup. I think the default in any restaurant in Geauga County, and in particular Burton, should be real maple syrup served with pancakes - even if the price needs to be adjusted on the menu. Burton is after all "pancake town USA" and every year any tree in town that even looks like a maple is adorned with a stainless steel sap bucket from mid February through early April. Having a restaurant in Burton that serves maple flavored high fructose corn syrup seems to be out of touch with the community. For lunch I recommend JC's BLT - and go for the double stacked version. Same great smoked bacon that is served with breakfast. I have been happy with this every time. They also make really scrumptious hamburgers. I have had dinner here a few times as well. It was nothing memorable (neither good nor bad) for me, but I know a few people that like JC's dinner entrees. It is a small town diner, what can I say. I all adds up well on the positive side so I keep coming back. If you haven't tried JC's before you should stop in some weekend morning. read more

Hubby had s big breakfast with eggs, hash browns and sausage. He cleaned his plate. I had blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. I enjoyed the generously-sizedpancakes which were well made and the syrup. The blueberries were definitely in the freezer too long and were dry and tough. The endless coffee was great. If the blueberries were fresh (or probably even canned) they would have gotten a better review. read more

Very good pulled pork and a wonderful chicken parperkash. The pulled pork had barbecue sauce all throughout, not just naked pork with sauce on top. Portion size was nice, really good for the money. Everyone was very happy with this place and their meals! read more

JCs is your quintessential small-town diner. The food is consistently good but nothing extraordinary. I Particularly like going there for breakfast. Not often you go into a little diner type place and they ask how you want your burger cooked.. most places always cook very well done, since it is frozen not fresh..THIS PLACE USES FRESH HAMBURGER.. hand made patties they were awesome.. order it med rare.. the fries are fresh cut very hot and crispy. First Night I visited they had gumbo soup that was amazing.. second visit had the burger again and a cup of green pepper soup that was good (not as good as gumbo) read more

We received a warm welcome from the hostess and wait staff. Our beverage order was immediately taken and filled. We ordered one 10 oz steak dinner and one patty melt entree. Both beef items were served exactly as ordered-- well done steak and medium burger. These were served with appealing sides, including sweet potato fries with Cajun mayo. We finished with extraordinary hot chocolate cheese case and pleasant blueberry pie. Service was friendly, prompt, and continuous. We look forward to our next visit. read more

Great food great service. My wife and I had breakfast here over the weekend - coffee arrived at the table in record time and breakfast followed soon after. The portions for "the bunker" (corn beef hash) are large enough that we each had a midmorning snack later in the day. Went there while vacationing at lake punderdon and got a Huge Burger... one of those if u can eat all this u get to put ur picture up in their hall of fame... its three meals worth to me... for my husband it was two... she let me go out and smoke ...cost was under 15 bucks a burger...waitress was awesome...gave me extra ranch and refilled our drinks in time .. of course we didnt go up on the wall but we still have a story to tell when we get back home from vacation read more

Split a dish (large portions) Sirloin steak - very well seasoned Chicken noodle soup - excellent Potato skins - very large and very good Side salad - the weakest thing by a mile: iceberg lettuce The decor is stereotypical golf theme and a lot of old people. Food is good. Management treatment of customers absolutely poor. My wife and I were drawn in by the " Fri AYCE fish" advertised on their big menu sign in front, by the windows. Went in, ordered, got two tasty, but small pieces of fish, chalking it up (and we discussed it) to the AYCE "keep the portions small" game. Called waitress over for another piece and was told that the AYCE is a Friday night thing. After leaving we looked at sign, window ads, etc. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT A RESTRICTION. Called up to complain, hung up on 3 times, finally got to talk to the manager who was so snotty! "I'm not putting fine print on our signs!" We were stunned. Though I go there during midweek, about a dozen times a year for a couple of years now (first Friday visit) the mngr told me he didn't care if I ever came back. He is getting his wish. All I asked them to do was put the AYCE time zone on the sign, one of those 4" plastic letter wall sign boards.
