The food is good. They really try. Nice people who work there. They remodeled in 2023. It looks really nice. They have good Eggs Benedict with tomato and spinach, my favorite. They have a nice option to eat outside in the summer, two or 4 tables tables on the sidewalk. I don't know about you but I haven't had a McDonald's burger in 25 years and it's not because I don't like the flavor. I really enjoyed their burger it reminds me of a big Mac but better. It's newly remodeled and grey and black and white. The food is awesome best eggs Benedict I've ever had. This is a family business and the owners are better than the food if that's possible. Kevin and his daughter took such good care of the 12 of us. Kevin actually entertained a couple of the kids while the adults actually ate a hot meal. I had read the reviews and chose the French toast cherry crunch - even though it's usually only served on Sunday - they said they would serve it on Saturday. Now, I can understand why, it was only a thick piece of bread as French toast with 2 TBL of canned cherry pie filling and a side of whip cream. It was nothing to "yelp" about! My husband ordered the pancakes and was very disappointed because they had NO flavor; they were just large blobs of cooked flour. There are sooo many recipes for pancakes that have flavor!! (Also, it would have been helpful if the server had pointed out the special that substituted avocado since I specified i didn't want any meat on it). Face after disappointed face poked their head in the dining area to note the 4 occupied booths. Your only seating choices, then, are two high tops or tables meant for larger parties that are appointed with fugly, uninviting chairs. Really, the layout of this place is shockingly bad with a lot of wasted space ( plenty of room to accommodate those coveted booths). Lastly, we could barely find the cash stand to pay! We were actually on our way to our usual Sunday breakfast spot when a detour on Mayfield Road took us past this plaza. We are always on the look out for new places to eat (especially breakfast!!) and we had no idea this little place was here (less than a mile from where we usually go). The breakfast portion of the menu was a little small but I had no complaints because they have eggs Benny which is my all time favorite- and a good dish for judging culinary skill. It was delish! The hollandaise was perfect and plentiful (just the way I like it). Although the dish didn't come with potatoes I ordered a side of home fries- they were a little too crispy for my liking, probably deep fried with lots of tiny little pieces. My fiancé ordered the corned beef hash- it came out looking like it was canned but he said it surely tasted homemade and he loved it. My only real complaint is they were out of silverware for a while while we were there and we had to ask a few separate times for spoons to stir our coffee and again for cream. Our server was very kind but the other girl who was helping (another server I think?) who sat us and got our drink ordered acted like we were bothering her. Overall, I'd definitely go back. I love a quaint and quiet local breakfast spot. After about a two year hiatus from the area, I decided to give it a shot. The food was yummy but the staff could've been much more friendlier. Having a friendly staff makes or breaks the cafe atmosphere experience. A man glared at me from across the bar while sipping coffee and what appeared to be a refusal to cash me out. After making awkward eye contact on several occasions he finally stopped sipping and went to the back to get a young woman. I heard him say "cash them out". She proceeded to walk our way and did not greet, or ask us how we were. She took our payment and was on her way. No thank you? No have a good day? I felt very unwanted and unappreciated from the staff who was choosing to sip coffee and talk to two young women at the bar and not give me a farewell than take my money. One of my largest pet peeves is feeling like an unwanted customer and that was exactly the experience I had. That is a shame because the food is genuinely decent. If you do not enjoy waking up at 5:00am, the breakfast industry is not for you. read more
