Got the Wickliffe Blue Devil Burger and it was ridiculously awesome, service was laughably friendly and speedy! Definitely a must-visit.

Just your normal local diner/greasy spoon! I really enjoyed my breakfast sandwich. The interior is pretty cute and our server was very nice. I will say that our table was pretty sticky so I'm not sure about it's cleanliness. The pancake I ordered was overcooked (refer to photo) and did not taste very good. Other than the pancake, we were satisfied with our meals. The sign that is posted in their parking lot is funny and sad at the same time. I'm loving the pettiness! (See photo for reference)

Erin and team have built something homey and unique. I love the daily soup and we had great burger and Reuben. Get the special fries!

Great little lunch spot, beats the pants off of fast food. Fairly priced and good sized portions.

Modern take on the classic open kitchen breakfast bar. The service was attentive and prompt. Eggs Benedict is awesome!

Love their big coffee mugs and the omelettes, eggs Benedict and pancakes are a few of their specialties.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.

Came with two matzo balls and nice broth, but it should have been hotter - regardless excellent. Large corned beef on rye - excellent, though bread should have been thicker as it broke apart while eating. Great pickle, ordered a side of potato salad and both were good. Left half for later. We also had a jumbo pastrami reuben and a order of onion rings. Thousand Island dressing and extra kraut were provided. Staff were very attentive, refilled drinks and we were out by 805. Love this place as i took my dad to this restaurant in the 1980-90s which relocated from another plaza and then my mom and our family to this location in 2020s. Staff were always great to her (80s) topping off her soup and giving her extra as she lived across the street.

Some of the coolers have been fixed, but it isn't known how well they are doing in today's heat. Food was thrown out, once at the direction of the health department. The cooks have worked in 140 degree temperatures. People have passed out. A minor threw up because of the heat and was told they couldn't go home. Someone suffered an asthma attack and had to be admitted to the hospital and then was guilted and threatened to come in the next day. OSHA has been out, but no one could tell that the "fixes" failed because the weather wasn't hot. The active complaint number is # 2448729. The lake county health inspector has been out and notified again. But they are there to protect capital. To minimize the risks of lawsuits, but to keep the doors open. Basically to help protect the owners from their own selfish nature. A manager told an employee that if they shut down because of the heat, where would they replace $7000? The employees health is valued less than that. Please share this wherever you can. I can't track down all the people who may have been exposed to contaminated food. I can't talk to every employee that was sickened because revenue was more important than their health. I don't want the restaurant to close, I want tough enough consequences that it is cheaper for them to take care of their employees at work than it is to ignore them.
