Since she's a member of Angie's List, she volunteered to look me up a few reliable plumbers in the area. The first name she gave me was Mr. Jackson from Reliable Home Improvements. I called him on a Monday and spoke to him about possible resolutions to my plumbing issue. We decided that Thursday morning between 9-9:30am would be the perfect time for him to stop by and inspect my issue. I remember that I specifically asked him if I needed to call him back to confirm my appointment with him later that day. He said, "no, I have you on my calendar, but if their is a problem, I will call you back." I thanked him and told him I'll see him Thursday. Well, Thursday rolls around and I didn't hear from, nor did I see Mr. Jackson. Extremely unprofessional! I worked from home that day, so thank God I didn't have to take off, but it was still an inconvenience. Why on earth is it so hard to find honest, competent and reliable plumbers? This is a give and take situation. I pay for a service, you fix the problem...plain and simple. I wasn't asking to fix the problem for free, I was a paying customer! Moreover, if he wasn't available, a simple call to reschedule would've been the proper thing to do. Two weeks to the day and I still haven't heard back from this company. Horrible customer service! Take it from me and don't even bother contacting this company. My sister suggested that I call him back, but I refused because it's plenty of plumbers in the area that are willing and able to assist me. I found one too, he fixed my issue lickety split and was very professional! One and DONE!

When I set out to have my roof replaced, I sought out a number of quotes from contractors on yelp…read more Over the course of a month or so I received a number of quotes and went with Barnabas Ko for a couple of reasons. They had a tremendous number of positive reviews on other sites and didn't have any complaints that I could find with Virginia DPOR. Lastly, their price was extremely competitive for the roof itself, not so much for a couple of add on projects I had asked to be completed at the same time. This has turned out to be a major mistake. In addition to the roof, I had asked Mr. Ko to replace my gutters and attic fan. On the day of the project, the crew that showed up didn't have an attic fan to replace with my existing fan, nor did they have any idea that this was supposed to be within their scope of work. I had the strong sense that the two gentleman doing the work were contractors themselves, not employees of Mr. Ko, although I didn't ask so cannot confirm that. Additionally, there was no gutters to replace. Because they had brought ridge vents rather than an attic fan, I asked the guys to proceed with the ridge vents and forego the attic fan. While in the middle of the project, I noticed two holes in my roof where squirrels had gotten in and asked the gentleman to patch the holes. They said that they would do that. Fast forward a few days after I had expressed some of my concerns about no gutters nor an attic fan. Mr. Ko said he can have another crew do the gutters on the next day. I specifically told him not to as I had to work and I didn't want any work being performed on my house without me being home. A week later he sent a crew out to install the attic fan without me being home. Now I have an attic fan and ridge vents with negate the value of either. ( google it for some clarification if desired). Additionally, they failed to fully install the attic fan as it isn't hooked up to an electrical supply. Lastly, I have heard squirrels in my attic again yesterday, just two or three weeks after the holes were supposedly patched. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
