express my dissatisfaction with the living trust preparation process, which has taken five months to complete and has been marked by several significant issues. After paying the initial deposit and submitting the required forms, I received no communication for several weeks. Furthermore, I was required to pay the final fee before having a consultation or seeing any documents. The materials I eventually received did not align with my intentions, but rather reflected a literal interpretation of the forms. A brief consultation prior to drafting would have been far more efficient. Additionally, the subsequent revisions took several weeks and resulted in documents containing both graphical and factual errors. While I have now received the final versions, I remain concerned about their accuracy and have little confidence in their legal integrity. read more

After 4 years, I have never received a complaint from any friend or client about JDKatz. Because of his tax and real estate background, I would rate Jeff as one of the more qualified attorneys in the area. He knows what to look for and what to argue against - particularly important for closings on residential properties or larger deals. From a fee perspective, JDKatz is competitive with other DC-area firms. The a la carte offerings, particularly with trust and estate work, allow clients to decide what is most important and necessary at that time in their lives. A full presentation of what is available is provided and conversations about what is in the client's best interest pursues. A la carte gives the client the ability to spend what is in their budget or cover all angles. **DESPERATE BLACK FAMILY** My wife and I required representation for a tax audit because of a rogue IRS auditor for multiple tax years. We spoke to the law office and let them know what we could afford up front. In the process of working with the law office we paid double what we could afford and was billed beyond our retainer without our knowledge. We ended up owing them in upwards of $18,000! This did not include the CPA (which shares the same office) that wanted to charge us $2500 per year for services! We did use the CPA for one year and realized the taxes were done wrong again! With discovering this we sought help from another tax office for help and our issues were resolved. Now we have an outstanding bill from JDKatz in which they seek payment for. We should not owe them anything. Clearly there has to be some sort of common sense being as though this is a law office. Be very careful when using this law office. read more
