The class is hosted in the chef's (gorgeous) home. There were 18 of us making 8 dishes. A fully…read morepacked class. The menu was put together with well-selected and well-rounded dishes: 4 appetizers/sides, 2 mains and 2 desserts (mostly french inspired?). The menu is different for each class. Since it was in the kitchen area of a home, it felt extremely crowded with 18 people walking about. We worked pretty much 2 to a "station" but kept getting in each-others way. I felt the class lacked organization as after she explained each "station", it was pretty much a free-for-all to get cooking. On top of that, the recipes were not detailed enough to follow for a new cook. When I asked the chef for directions, she would either deviate from the recipe or take over the cooking. Not much of a lesson if you ask me. I do have to give them credit for the advance preparation by setting aside ingredients/pots/pans for each dish, but there was no similar consideration when it came to the "cooking"; it was a fight to use the stove burners/oven racks. Not surprisingly, when it came time to eat, it was also a free-for-all. The food was served buffet-style and all of us stood around with a plate and fork. There was also no where to sit... I have no doubt that the chef is extremely knowledgeable, and I have to mention that I've been to a few cooking classes at cooking schools, so my review might be biased as I'm strongly comparing my experiences with those previous classes.
