I had a very disappointing experience with this CPA firm. To be fair, I do believe my CPA had good intentions, and I understand that mistakes and miscommunications can happen. What really matters in those situations is how a company handles it afterward, and that is where this experience completely fell apart. My taxes may have been filed correctly, but the communication was not clear. I did not want 2026 quarterly estimated tax payments set up, and I never understood that this was what was happening. I believed the amounts shown were a payment plan for my 2025 taxes, not separate 2026 estimated payments. Because of the language barrier and the lack of a clear explanation, I did not understand what I was agreeing to. As a result, more money was taken from my account than I expected, which caused me to become overdrafted. When I reached out to get help resolving the issue, I was hoping they would at least acknowledge the misunderstanding and try to make it right in some way. Instead, when I spoke with William at the end, he was very unhelpful and basically made me feel like I was just out of luck. I was told there was nothing they could do, that I needed to deal with my bank myself to block future payments, and that they would not offer even a partial refund. That response is a big part of why I decided to leave this review. If they had simply handled the miscommunication better, shown some understanding, and at least offered a partial refund or some effort to make things right, I honestly think I would have been okay. On top of that, I feel the $700 fee was too high for the level of service and communication I received. Accuracy is important, but so is making sure your client actually understands what is being filed and what payments are being set up. Overall, I left this experience feeling confused, unsupported, and financially stressed. I understand mistakes can happen, but the way this was handled afterward was unacceptable. I was searching around for a CPA to help prepare my 2024 personal tax return so I stopped by this place in person to ask about pricing. When I walked in, no one even bothered to ask if I needed help. I recognized Jeff and I asked him if he could provide a quote for tax preparation. Right off the bat, he seemed annoyed at my presence. He asked me some general questions about my tax situation and after getting my response, he immediately dismissed me, which surprised me since we didn't even talk about actual numbers. He said he didn't want to add extra stress to his staff because the AC wasn't working that day. I don't see why he couldn't have told me to come back or call in another day since this was early August and taxes weren't due until Oct 15. Absolutely terrible initial experience. After putting in for a free consultation via Yelp, i got a call back from his 'office manager'. She didnt seem to understand anything about taxes and couldn't provide any real information about HOW they could help me. She heard I'm W2 and not 1099, and the door just shut. Nothing about potential tax strategies, real estate investments, or the handful of other things that I, as a non CPA know about. She started the call by asking me how she could help, which was completely described when I first typed into the Yelp request. I re-explained my tax situation and how simple it is, but I need professional help to reduce taxes. The first thing out of her mouth was that it costs $450 per hour to speak to Jeff.
