The owner, Jeff Nichols, is arrogant and terrible! I went there for a hamstring partial tear and the therapy was not at all helpful. It consisted of laying on a heating pad and some stimulation which I can do at home. After this waste of time and money, I have gone elsewhere where a wonderful therapist ACTUALLY worked with me the entire time to strengthen my hamstrings which is what I needed. Also, I have never been to a place where they demand your credit card when your therapy is covered by insurance. When I told them I was never returning, they started charging my card. STAY AWAY!! There are so many better options in Camarillo. Hilarious that the owner Jeff responded with my first review that I was non compliant! How insecure is that!! read more

I am in for separated shoulder. Love Jeff and his staff. Very upbeat office. Very clean immaculate. Jeff spend first visit on what exactly occurred with my injury. Shows me on a model of what muscles and tendons tore. Asked me what are my expectations with therapy and how he is going to be treating my shoulder to try and make me whole again. Can I give 6 stars? I've been playing sports for greater than 50 years and I've seen a few physical therapists and Jeff is the best. First the facility is clean and inviting. The team at Jeff Nicholl, PT goes far and above to become really involved in each and everyones personal needs for rehabilitation. Jeff was so involved in my personal needs specifically for my wrist he made me feel like it was his most important objective but you can't help not to notice that he treats everyone that way. As a senior who's had my fair share of physical therapy over several decades, (both hips replaced, 4 knee surgeries, & scoliosis) NEVER have I had such excellent care from a PT office. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, and thanks to him and his staff, very excited to have made progress in just one week! It'll be a sad day when he cuts me loose, it's a nice place to exercise, (although they don't make it easy!) Excited the rocking chair can wait, more Pickleball in my future. P.S. This PT business did not meet my expectation for my care. The evaluation was thorough but the follow up with the only PT that was on site was minimal. The PT was in his office most of my visit and had 4 to 5 patients in the exercise room with supervision only by the aid. There were a few PT aids and they were lovely and helpful. I was very disappointed in this business model and have spoken with the owner and have moved on to another Camarillo PT facility that actually spends time with each patient. I have never written an uncomplimentary review but I don't want the profession to get a bad rap because this practice is not the normal PT practice . read more

I have never had to go through physical therapy until now with shoulder inflammation. I can't do justice to such a wonderful place and team. Jeff and his excellent PT staff work as a cohesive machine to create efficient and smooth running operation. The staff is caring and knowledgeable. You are treated like family and they put you at ease even when you are pushing yourself as much as you can to get better. They take time to talk with you and not just rush you in and out and they assess you each and every time you come in. The appointment making, insurance billing and payment process is handled promptly and thoroughly. Clean and current equipment is a plus here. Jeff did an excellent job diagnosing my conditions. I am nearing the end of my current treatment. I am a return customer because of his past outstanding performance. He is always able to explain how he came up with his diagnosis in simple terms that I could understand, explained how and why the different treatments were going to help me and provided great take-home exercises. This review is months overdue. I am sharing my experience in hope of saving some time and pain for new patients. I'm sure there are others who've had a similar experience; I can't be the only one. If you are lucky, you'll be seen by Jeff, the licensed Physical Therapist. I believe he is a skilled therapist (he treated me once). More often than not though, you'll spend most of your visits with the aides. On what turned out to be my final visit, I was only seen by his aide, Monica, even though I requested to see Jeff multiple times. I had some concerns about my pain and treatment plan, which would have been better addressed by Jeff himself. But instead, my messages were relayed to him and I couldn't get straightforward answers from the aides. My course of treatment/activities for the day would change, as they were trying to fill the time until Jeff was available (or until my visit time was over?). I was waiting for the traction equipment room and then got bumped for a later-arriving patient. I finally asked Monica directly if Jeff was not seeing me today and she nervously answered and apologized that he couldn't. I decided to leave. During the 65 minutes of my visit (20 minutes in the waiting area + 45 minutes in the main room doing stretches) not once did Jeff stop by to see how I was doing. Not he nor his staff communicated the situation to me so that I could decide if it was best to reschedule. It was a pattern with Jeff-- the minimal communication and interaction (he seemed to spend more time in his personal office than with any of the patients). As a new patient and new to PT, I didn't know what to expect from a PT visit. I was desperate to get some mobilization and relief from the pain but this is not how a good PT office runs. This office schedules a huge number of patients daily, just to make numbers and at the expense of patient care. (There are 3 aides supporting 1 PT.) There ARE Physical Therapists that care about getting you better and will spend a great deal of time with you. Not at this office. read more

I took my teenage son in to see Jeff for rehab on a meniscus repair. This is a serious recovery for a teenager risking loss of 60% of his cartilage. Jeff's familiarity with this recovery and treatment gave me great peace of mind and confidence with his ability to help my son. We are now almost 12 weeks postop and my son is ahead of schedule. Jeff is Amazing He clearly an expert in his field He has well train and friendly staff. He was able to diagnose my lower back issues because he is involved with every patient on all of their visits. Let me explain: I was referred to Jeff By my pain management dr. To help me with lower back issues. My pain Dr diagnosed a pinch nerve and sciatica. Jeff gave me stretches to do really helped me to relieve my pain. During my third visit he noticed that I was having trouble with my stretches and asked me where it hurt when I stretched and then asked if he could examine/ massage my back. He was able to determine that I was having issues with my facet joints, not sciatica and had my pain Dr order an MRI of my lower back (My pain management had previously told me there was no need for an MRI) The MRI showed severe spinal stenosis and I was referred to a neurologist right away. If it wasn't for Jeff I would not be getting the treatment I really needed. I am going to need surgery but my problem was caught in time before any permanent nerve damage was done I Thank God for Jeff I no longer see the pain management Dr read more

I cannot believe anyone had anything negative to say about this wonderful place. Jeff is a very competent, knowledgeable and caring physical therapist. I began physical therapy there after a stroke and a severe seizure. I could barely walk into that office the first time. I was in a very weakened state, not paralyzed. I went from wheelchair to walker to cane and now no need for a walking aid. That said you must understand that I did everything at home that Jeff and his staff had me do. I was highly motivated to do what I needed to do to get better. Jeff explained the physiology and anatomy of my body and what was going on in a manner that I could understand. This office was a perfect environment for me after a stroke. Low stimuli, by that I mean it is quiet, low lighting, not a lot of activity going on that would be a distraction. All the staff watched me as I did my exercises whether on the table or on a machine. They watched me without hovering over me the whole time. I felt safe. I did have an issue with a tendon in my foot and Jeff addressed that and treated that as well during this stroke recovery time. I believe that the physical therapy I received helped me avoid surgery. My foot feels so much better than it has in a long time. Jeff's staff is competent and careful in the care they give. If I had a new pain or problem they would always check with Jeff, if he was not busy he would come and talk to me about the issue with my body. He would make the rounds in the large room and say hello or joke around with this patients. I rarely waited in the waiting room. If I did wait it was never more than 5 minutes. I never got there early though, in fact I would walk in at appointment time. Thank you to Jeff, Rebecca, AJ, Takado,Cambria, Bambi, Hunter, Jocelyn, Monica, and Gina for all the wonderful care you gave me. I can never repay Jeff and his staff for what they did for me. I am very dissatisfied with the time I spent in this office. Jeff only saw me for the initial review and then I saw the assistant or the newly hired interns (who had no training except for that by the assistant). They would only treat the area that was hurting, and did not look for the WHY it was hurting. I road a bike and did steps and was iced. And rarely anything else. When I called to question why I was not seeing Jeff when he saw the other patients, I was told he was sick that day and I should go elsewhere. I did and received the much better care at the new place. Do not go here if you want to be treated as a whole person. read more
