I had to lay off golfing for 5 years because of back and knee problems. When I finally started to play again I couldn't hit a shot. Nothing solid, and couldn't break 110. I scheduled an hour lesson with Jeff. He suggested only one swing change. The first time I went out to play 9 holes after the lesson I played "bogey" golf, which was a huge improvement over the previous rounds since my layoff. I just had first golf lesson with Jeff. Im older guy who been out of golf for awhile. Now getting back into golf but cant hit driver or 3 wood to save my life. I figured in 1 lesson, he might get me hitting 3 wood a little bit but driver not at all. Anyhow after 1st lesson he had me hitting driver 200YDS and straight about 70% of the time. Then I was able to duplicate it on the gold course few days later. Jeff has almost magical ability to watch your golf swing and then pinpoint little flaws (some big). Jeff is not kidding in his belief of a good lesson being one where you leave hitting the ball better than when you came in. As a new golfer in his 40's, I was looking for an instructor that would be patient, but to the point with helpful advice. This was 100% Jeff! In short, I have been struggling with a terrible slice while using my driver. Jeff watched my stance, grip, and swing, and with several manageable tweaks, had my slice improving, but we weren't done there. I came to Jeff for my first professional lesson in many years and I'm not sure why I waited so long. Could have been my ego, thinking i could figure it out on my own or worrying about ruining my swing. I've been struggling with a right miss and low ball flights with my longer irons and finally decided i needed help. Jeff watched me hit my 5 iron and gave me a drill to try. The next shot, I flushed it, hit it 15-20 yards longer than before, and had this beautiful high draw ball flight that i never thought i could have. He's a legend in my book-- looking for a golf instructor especially just starting out can be as intimidating as asking a girl out on a first date. Jeff was able to analyze my swing and skill level in mere minutes. I could tell he has a true passion for the sport-- but that doesn't always equate to a great (let alone good) instructor. He dissected my swing like a surgeon and knew exactly where I needed improvement. Jeff has a true passion for not only the sport, but for his students as well. YouTube is great if you want to learn how to make a tavern style pizza at home or fix your toilet but as far as fixing your golf swing, it is poison. *15-20 HCP * Upon my first lesson with Jeff (and the first of my adult life) within the first 10-15 shots, he was able to identify the flaws in my backswing and follow through, while providing me an entirely new understanding of what you are actually trying to make the club do when hitting Driver. After those 10-15 shots, my club head speed was floating at and above PGA tour average( hockey background certainly helps as well) and I hardly pulled a slice for the next 40-50 balls and if I did, I was able to adjust my grip based on his advice. No more awkward elbow flaring and shoulder tilting for this guy. Bottom line is, a youtube video is useless unless you are able to video tape, diagnose and adjust yourself on a shot to shot basis. As a skeptic of basically everything out in the world today, I say with confidence DO NOT HESITATE to go and see Jeff, trust the testimonials and reviews on his website( I won't even buy an $8 plastic kitchen utensil without combing through reviews) (No discount was provided in exchange for my testimonial, I hope anybody reading this that is on the fence about getting a lesson or thinks it's a waste of money will take this seriously. I recently took a golf lesson from Jeff Severini. I had been trying to fix my inconsistent ball striking on my own for months, without much success. Even though I believe I have a very good understanding of swing mechanics and dynamics, I knew it was time to seek professional help. Jeff was great! He immediately diagnosed my 3 ball striking issues as stemming from the same fault (taking the club to much to the inside). He gave me a drill to swing more to the left, like you see many of the pros practicing on TV. With a little practice, my ball striking improved dramatically. I started hitting the ball dead straight and on target, and even sometimes with a slight fade. I was unable to diagnose or fix this problem on my own. My swing fault felt very natural to me. Wow!! That is all I can say about Jeff.. In a matter of minutes, after a brief discussion and him watching me swing, he made slight adjustments that totally changed the trajectory of my ball. I was really struggling with my game....inconsistent and hitting a lot of weak slicing shots off the tee. A friend of mine recommended that I take a golf lesson from Jeff. Well I made the investment and it was the best decision I made to improve my game. In the first 10 minutes he was able to identify my basic swing shortcomings and had me do one drill for the rest of the session.
