No-frills par 3 course, easy to play and you can get through it relatively fast. I did a GolfNow hot deal with a 6:50AM tee time...was the first person on the course. It only took me 50 minutes to get through the 10 holes on the course. The first things you should know is that this isn't really a par 3 course as much as it's a Pitch & Putt. Also the course is quite tight and full of first time golfers so expect to hear a lot of "FORE!" I came solo without a tee time which wasn't an issue but it's probably advisable to call ahead for one anyway. Only the last 2-3 of the 10 holes would be long enough to actually found as a par 3 hole at a legit golf course. The rest are hovering around 100 yards. The tee box at every hole is AstroTurf but it's one that has a spot for you to use your tees if you're so inclined. Most golfers could easily get away with doing the full course with 4 clubs. If you're a first timer you'll be well at home here, they even have golf carts and pull carts to rent if you want the full golfing experience. I found either to be completely unnecessary for such a short course. Prices are super reasonable $22-25 for adults and their driving range is $8-12. It's easy for a serious golfer to laugh off a place like this but when I couldn't even come close to par I'll be going back asap to make sure this place hasn't gotten the best of me. read more

Can't say enough great things about the owner and head pro Jeff and assistant pro Dom. I've never been to Twin Willows but was lucky to be paired with these two playing 18 elsewhere. Jeff and Dom are extremely gracious, fun to be around, absolutely love the game, and know their stuff. I'm a high handicap player, and they were so patient with me and even shared some tips that helped me lower my score. They both made some unbelievable shots! They have the experience to coach anyone from first-timers to scratch golfers. I got very lucky meeting Jeff and Dom on course and will definitely check out Twin Willows soon. read more

Love the golf course I golf here all the time but as far as the staff i dealt with this lady named aaron .. not professional at all so disrespectful... for example my friends had t time at 9 Am I tried to olay with them she said no I said can I go in the group in front of them she was iffy but ending up letting me after the 4th hole the course was back up so I hung back to play with my friends instead of coming out there to tell me to stick with the 2 sum she waited for me to come back with my 10 year old cousin to tell me to never ask for a favor again because it will never happen ... I said look outside there's 9 ppl on a green now .. she said don't worry about them . Started to play golf about a year ago, but really been working on my game the last few months. My brother brought me to twin willows and it is an absolute blast. I get to work on my irons and wedges and really built confidence in my game. It's a great course for all players and it's kept in great shape. Fun little course to work on your short game. It's easy to go as a twosome without having to get paired up with people you don't know. Very laid back....you don't have to feel pressured here. The people who play here are generally average or below average skill level, so if you muff a few shots you won't feel out of place. And if you are above average you will probably leave feeling good about yourself. At the same time, you will probably have to deal with a few people who aren't familiar with golf etiquette such as being quiet when you are hitting. Just be patient....this isn't the Masters. The people who own the place are very friendly, and they are accommodating to first-timers. There are 10 holes, so even when one hole is under construction (which is usually the case), you still are able to get in a full 9. Sometimes they even let you replay the first hole to make it 10 total. The holes all range from 80-135 yards, with the exception of the 10th hole which is 180 yards. Greens are slowwww, so keep that in mind when putting. Cost is reasonable....$19 per player at the time of this review. You can also rent a hand cart for a couple of dollars extra, if needed. There is no food or snack bar, except a soda/water machine. I've been playing here for 20 years and will continue to use this course as a staple for practicing my game. read more

Disappointed!!!! The greens were in very bad shape which was not even the worst part. After playing the 10 my buddy and I decided to replay some of the holes as it was not too busy. Upon returning we were confronted about playing another round. Although we didn't play fully through when asked we both said "yes" when asked if we went around to which we were asked "not to scam us". Are you kidding me lady? There only scam there is run by the grounds crew who have obviously let this place fall apart. Hope you enjoy the extra $12 I paid because it is the last money I will ever spend there. You don't have to threaten to call the cops with a phone in your hand...no one is trying to steal playing time. Sheesh!!! read more

Firstly, come here with enough money for green fees and any rentals you might need. This place is cash only and there's no ATM on the premises! We had to drive 10 minutes away to some little deli just to get cash. This par 3 course is nice and short for those of us still honing our golf skills, or for those who are simply looking to improve their short game. The fairways are in decent condition, but I found the tee-off areas strange - they're just like at a driving range, complete with turf and rubber tees. There are signs on every hole indicating all tee-offs are to be taken from the mat - not from the grass. I guess that was good for me since I always seem to do better at the range than I do on course. The golf course wasn't overbooked and even with its small size it had a good number of sand traps and water hazards. And there are a couple friendly golf course dogs, if you need a little pet therapy after a bad day on the green. read more

Great course for all levels of golf. It is especially friendly to female golfers with having clinics for women only. The course is a par 3 but it is really good for practicing your short game. Would highly recommend the clinics that they run through out the year. read more

Great place to work on your short game. They are very on top of taking care of the course on a daily basis. Greens are slow but kudos to the people who own it. After the flooding they came back and fixed the course and like I said you see them working in the course daily. This is the first year I've gone to the course and went multiple times this summer. It's a fun enough time but the maintenance of the course is absolutely unacceptable. The turf tee boxes are fine but they kept the previous tee boxes there when they switched to the new ones. It's simply an aesthetic issue but the issues only get worse as you move down each hole. I know it was a fairly hot summer with not too much rain but it looks like they haven't watered the course in years. You're actually better off putting your ball into the rough and whacking out because the "fairway" grass is brown, chewed up, and completely patchy. I understand that golf courses will get divots but these aren't divots; they are actually holes from dead grass that never came back. I see beautiful lawns around my neighborhood but a golf course has a hard time keeping their grass alive? That sounds like laziness, not a weather issues. Okay, so you hit a perfect tee shot, lay it up on the green nicely, and proudly walk down to find your ball sitting on a part of the green that has no grass. That's right, about 4 (if not more) of the 10 holes have large patches where the grass isn't worn down, it is completely missing. What's the green called when it's missing the green part? Once again, a golf course that can't keep grass alive is an issue and seems like a lack of caring. This course is fine if you want to mess around with some friends and play a quick par 3 round but that's about it. The funny thing is that the course is decently challenging and would be a lot of fun if they actually cared to maintain it. read more

This is a comment on Ben S.'s review: As it happens, I was playing right behind him and his young son on the day he was banished. The "precious grass" he writes of, that his son "put a divot on," was the 7th GREEN! The boy tore a huge hole in it, apparently with Daddy's approval, and the UBER-hospitable owner, who was busy on his tractor, keeping this challenging little course in the excellent shape in which they regularly maintain it, witnessed this and was justifiably outraged. Ben and son, as I recall, were also holding up the pace of play with nonchalant, carefree, clueless abandon. My partner and I were delighted to see them go. For the record, the people who own and run this course are the friendliest, most welcoming hosts I have ever encountered on a golf course of any size, and I have never felt more comfortable and relaxed than when I have a chance to play here. read more

Fun little par 3 with 10 holes. 10th hole is long so bring your 3 wood if you don't like your long irons. Greens are in good shape but fairways are so-so. I just improve my lie in the fairway and get the ball to a decent lie. Some of the holes are really interesting and pretty difficult. It is the type of course you can enjoy if you are an above average golfer and at the same time it is a great course for beginners. I have been taking our son their since he is not ready for a regulation course yet. It's a great course to teach your kids on. In the 4 times we have played here we have never had to wait to get out and the course has never been backed up. Be careful going from hole 1 to 2. It is easy to go right on to hole number 4 if you don't know the course. Even if you have played it you can make this mistake. We did today. We will be back many times this summer I'm sure. While waiting to take my son for a late flight at Newark Airport, we took advantage of this neat little golf course. We're glad we did, because it proved a pleasant diversion. The greens were well maintained, as was the rest of the course. We needed to rent some clubs to play, but, luckily, they were available. It was challenging enough, but not overly so. If in the area, we would definitely visit this course again. The only downside is that it appeared that most of the golfers who were there when we were are every bit as bad a golfer as I. The good news is that there is a five-stroke limit on each hole. Unfortunately, it seemed apparent that the golfers ahead of us (and behind us-although I didn't care about that) ignored this restriction. The resulting back-up made delays at the airport on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving look like a breeze. Since I realize this is an aberration and in no way the fault of Twin Willows, we hope to come back. read more

Had a couple nice Saturdays at this course without breaking the bank or wasting four hours. It's 10 holes , not 9, and they're dropped in the middle of a wooded area so the setting is very pleasant. You shoot over water on the second hole and I had to do a double take that it wasn't teeing off Augusta. Maybe not Augusta, but it's an upgrade over any pitch n' puts I've ever been to before. The staff and starter were all surprisingly polite and there wasn't any golf course superiority complex you catch at country clubs and 18 hole county courses. Pretty great way to spend an afternoon. read more

This was the most horrible experience I have ever had golfing. I have been golfing for 25 years. I brought my 4 and 6 year old sons there for their first "real" golf experience. We have been going to the driving range and playing miniature golf for most of their short lives. I thought that this would be the perfect spot to really start. We spent the night before marking our balls and everything. As soon as we walked in, the old man behind the counter is like, "how old are the!" I told him their age with with a lot of pride, like he should appreciate what I was doing. I was so wrong. He told me that they could not even swing a club and could not go on the course with me. IT'S AN EFING PAR THREE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY CAN'T PLAY!?!? My god son is 6 and has bee playing for 3 years in Georgia on REAL golf courses. What do you mean my kids can't play on a crappy par 3? My sons immediately stared to cry. Is this how we want kids to have their first experience in a struggling sport? I love golf, but I hate all the old men who don't want women or children to play and there are too many of them in NJ. Every time I play with my wife some old man makes a stupid comment and 100% of the time it's because a MAN ahead of us sucks and is slowing everything down, not my wife. Now, I have the same type of old pricks telling me my kids can't learn at an early age to play the right way. If you value your children's education in the sport, go as far away from this place as you possibly can. read more
