They have a decent selection of shows that highlight local talent. In December I saw a local interpretation of It's a Wonder Life, entitled It's a Wonderful Life, Y'all and resets the action to New Orleans with many local nods and jokes. The production creativity was great. The whole show was put on by 5 actors which was amazing. And the sets and props were standouts. The main theater holds over 300 seats and the Lagniappe theater is smaller. The night I was there, the theater was packed but still comfortable and the theater is fully accessible for those using wheelchairs. There was also a concession stand selling snacks and mulled wine. Definitely a fun spot to spend an evening.

Love this community and the place here are definitely worth it for a local flair of theater with a Broadway flair.

The theater itself is charming, cozy, and very comfortable, with multiple seating options, a definite plus. The staff was friendly and helpful, which truly enhanced the overall experience. Parking was also incredibly easy, something I always appreciate. If you have the opportunity to see a show here, I highly recommend taking advantage of it.

Jefferson Performing Arts Center took my breath away...and bot in a good way…read more I've been to Jefferson Performing Arts Center many times, and usually, it's a shining example of how to host a stellar event. The seats are comfy, the staff is welcoming, the logistics run like clockwork, and the acoustics are consistently phenomenal--every note rings out perfectly, no matter where you sit. Last night's Black Jacket Symphony performance of Led Zeppelin's music was no exception on the performance side--just incredible. But oh, let's talk about the atmosphere. When I stepped into the auditorium, I wasn't met with the warm embrace of a perfectly tuned heating system. No, I was smacked in the face by a wall of heat so intense I briefly considered whether Led Zeppelin might've been covering Hot for Teacher. Thankfully, someone on staff noticed that the audience wasn't exactly giving a standing ovation to the HVAC situation and turned the heat off. But then came the second act of discomfort: stagnant air. The kind of air that just sits there, like a guest at a dinner party who refuses to leave. No fans, no circulation--just a thick, unmoving mass of stuffiness that somehow felt more oppressive than the heat itself. And here's the thing: when you're in a packed room where the average age skews over 60, and you add in the not-so-subtle aroma of decades of cigarette smoking clinging to clothing? Let's just say it wasn't a breath of fresh air. The show itself was phenomenal--so good that I stayed despite feeling like I was trying to breathe through a wet blanket. But honestly, Jefferson Performing Arts Center, you've got to do better. Temperature control and air circulation aren't just "nice-to-haves"; they're the baseline for a venue of this caliber. I want to keep coming back for these incredible performances, but next time, let's make sure the only thing taking my breath away is the music--not the HVAC drama.

I looked on the website to plan my visit in advance, and saw that they hold themselves out as a very accessible space, with both wheelchairs and folding gallery benches available on request at the front desk and a commitment to accessibility. I went on. Monday, and there were only a few other guests there, so the timing seemed perfect as well. When I asked at the desk, the two staffers had no idea what I was talking about and said they didn't have wheelchairs or anything else for accessibility. I had already paid for myself and my companion, and really wanted to experience this space, but the lack of advertised accessibility meant I had to rush through, leaving a lot unappreciated and using all of my spoons for the day. I can't recommend visiting what would otherwise be a great space until they are able to fix their accessibility issues or fix the misleading statements on their website, since the best museum in the world is useless if you don't have meaningful access.

His art is very reminiscent of Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, and similar artists within this parallel universe. The gallery is free to visit and it's massive. I was in awe of how much space there is and it is top to bottom stacked with art. Every section has a different thematic and concept and it was super cool to see the different art methods. I found out the space is available for private event rentals and you can also enjoy a complimentary drink! Drinks and Art is seriously the way to my heart. From $30 to the thousands, there is something in everyone's budget to take home a piece of Josh Wingerter's art. You can actually purchase a spray can that he actually uses for his artwork covered in one of his signature prints for $30. It's such a cool concept and a great way to reduce, reuse, recycle. Eco-friendly Art for the win! While I was walking around I discovered he does a lot of community outreach and is actually from Westwego. It makes total sense as to why he wanted to come back home. Josh Wingerter has actually displayed his work and done galleries all over the world including Art Basel in Miami. I'm really excited to follow him on social media and come back for future events! This is an absolute must visit for anyone in the area or wanting a fun and unique trip. It's at most 20-30 minutes from Orleans Parish.
