We were really looking forward to dinner at Jefferson's, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The biggest issue was that the restaurant's air conditioning was not working, and no one told us before we were seated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had made reservations knowing there was a cancellation policy with fees for late cancellations, so once we were seated and had placed our order, we didn't feel comfortable leaving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't until after our order was taken that our server mentioned the AC was out, although by then it was obvious from how hot and uncomfortable the dining room had become.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I want to be clear that this is not a reflection of our server or the staff. They were kind, professional, and I honestly don't know how they were able to work in those conditions. We appreciated the complimentary watermelon and feta salad, but it didn't make up for the overall experience. The meal lasted nearly two hours, with long waits before our order was taken and again before our food arrived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband became so overheated that he felt sick and had to leave the table before finishing his dinner, leaving my daughter and me to finish what was supposed to be a family meal alone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When my shrimp and grits finally arrived, they were only lukewarm. My disappointment is really with management. Guests should have been informed about the lack of air conditioning before being seated and offered the choice to dine elsewhere if another venue was available. I was also surprised that no manager came through the dining room to apologize, explain the situation, or thank guests for their patience. I'm not going to say it's anything against the restaurant itself, but I honestly didn't have a great experience here. One of my friends absolutely loved the food, but unfortunately I just had a bad experience and ended up getting sick. I don't know if it was from the food or not, but I definitely wasn't able to really eat after that. This was one of the main options at the location, so I didn't really have a choice. The first time we went, we got chicken wings, and the portion I was able to try before I got sick was really tasty. The second time we came back, I spoke directly with the waiter and asked him to check with the chef and just have a simple turkey sandwich made with only bread and turkey, so I could at least stomach something and get through the night. The first time we went, our waiter Aaron was very sweet and attentive. The second time, we had a different waiter whose name I don't know...he wasn't as attentive, but it was also busier in the evening so I understand that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the bar area and they have tons of comfortable seating and the hostess was nice to us and easily accommodated our baby with a nice table she was able to walk around and be entertained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is somewhat limited with not many entrees and options but, I ordered the butternut squash cacio e pepe which was a large portion but was too heavy on cheese and not actually like what I thought. This dinner was the best I've ever had. Service was great and very family friendly. The restaurant is a bit dim but the tables had their own rechargeable lamps, so that came in handy. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the French onion soup, it was so cheesy with the right amount of breading inside. The filet mignon was so juicy, the flavors really popped, I didn't even need the sauce that came with it. The salmon was perfect, I was so stuffed but couldn't stop eating it. The onion rings were superb, with cheese and sauce. We finished off with the lava cake, it had a vanilla sauce, great combination. I would eat here everyday! read more

The Jefferson is located in the beautiful Omni Homestead resort. Very nice views from our table. Travis was very knowledgeable and a helpful server. We began with delicious burrata salads. Next followed a veal chop and grilled salmon topped with crab; with asparagus and mac&cheeseWe recommend the salmon but not the veal chop. They Sous Vide the veal. It is tender but we found it too done (comes out medium well and we prefer medium rare) but really not much flavor. Tasted bland as if boiled as an example. The strawberry shortcake flambé was a cool presentation but fell short on flavor. read more

I brought my bf here for his bday dinner celebration and truly enjoyed our time there. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. If we could order more from it, we would. This restaurant is tucked right inside the Omni homestead hotel which parking is very tricky to find. My bf ended up parking around the corner and walking through the hotel. I wish we had come here during the day to really get the full experience of the hotel. The food at the restaurant is your typical American food. My salmon dish was done well and bf got the steak. I'll spare you the 1,000 nuances as to why this was a great meal. The duck was good. I ate it quickly. The waiter was surprised at that. I ate it in probably 2 1/2 minutes. That was a record for me with duck. Anyways, The fancy Maine lobster Mac was the best Mac I've had in my entire life. I had it two nights in a row. The first time was great because I was so surprised. The second time was even better, like being welcomed into the home of a dear friend. I sat at the bar since I was by myself and the staff was friendly enough but the menu left much to be desired. I opted for a wedge salad and added shrimp at the bartender's recommendation. When it came out I laughed at the portion size. This was maybe 1/8 of a wedge rather than a true wedge salad. And while they were generous with the shrimp, I found them to be a little undercooked for my taste. All in all with tax and a tip, this salad cost me $32 and I left still hungry but unwilling to order anything else off the menu. read more

Absolutely amazing! Worth the trip. The ambiance was lovely and modern. The food was delicious but the steak is what you really MUST order. But the real gem that this restaurant has that no other one does in the area (or county for that matter) is the impeccable service. This is the reason to keep going back. Wonderful service is what really sells this restaurant and worth the price. Two employees especially treated us with respect, professionalism, and the real charm that makes a meal an actual dining experience. They were Oscar and Edenilson. Be sure to ask to be assisted by them. Like I said, I will be back because of these two exemplary individuals. This review is for the Taphouse, not the restaurant proper. It's a busy place and the servers seemed overwhelmed. Since it's open seating, they have a lot of moving parts to deal with. But it still shouldn't take 10 minutes to get your order taken, and to have drinks forgotten. It's a high end resort. Food is solid - the Game Burger and the Smoked Turkey Club are good. More things should have pimiento cheese on them. The fries are excellent. Bartender makes a solid Old Fashioned too. read more

I'd say choose the restaurant over the taproom. Food comes fast and they are still warm. We tried the Jefferson's taproom but the food was on the lukewarm/cold side. My guess is they prioritize the restaurant. Having read the reviews, I think the food is better than expected. Hubby says the slow roasted prime rib is delicious. The sea scallops and tiger shrimp dish is nice, too, and the sauce is fantastic, albeit on the saltier side (same with the prime rib). The two side dishes are wonderful, especially the asparagus with lemon zest. Note that the portions for these dishes are huge. We were too full for dessert in the end. Service is very prompt and friendly. I like that the tables are spaced out which alleviates COVID concerns and allows for more privacy (really useful for those of us with toddlers, too). read more

The bread that accompanied our meal was also very burnt which was maybe to distract from the bad food? And we did it to ourselves with the devils food cake which was so so dry and tasted so so old. It seems the reviews are a mixed bag here. It didn't deter my family to dine here recently and the service and food was spot on excellent! We were staying at the Omni and couldn't have been more pleased with my dining experience here. The place was decorated a bit more modern than the rest of the resort. The main bar with lots of tv's are on display the moment you walk in here. The dining room is on the other side. They do have a more business casual dress policy, with a collared shirt required for men. I saw many people wearing jeans. Our server was very eager to please us and we had a corner booth for 7 people. A little tight if we all adults in the party (3 kids). The crab cake appetizer was great with zero filler and perfect for sharing an app with your SO. My baby had salmon (kids menu) with delicious mashed potatoes and cream corn (that was amazing). My wife and I split the 22oz cowboy ribeye and was cooked a perfect medium rare. Reminds me of Joe's Seafood, Steak, and Stone Crabs. It was that good. The sides we ordered was mac and cheese and spinach with big hunks of ham. The dessert was a homerun for me too. Yes, this place is expensive. What do you expect from a resort dining room? This place has soooo much potential! First off, they offer a decent menu and their portions are HUGE! They execute their menu quite nicely too! Alleghany Trout was perfect prepared and a LARGE dish with two large pieces of fish on it! Their fillet was very nicely executed, cooking temp was spot-on! But it didn't taste like a hi-end piece of meat, more like grocery store "national" meat. Their wedge salad is HUGE! It's like an entire head of ice berg lettuce... Tasty and definitely shareable between a few people!! Beets salad was perfect and very tasty too, but also LARGE!! Brussel sprouts were very nice; slightly sweet from slightly too much honey, but perfectly cooked and quite tasty. The issues I have are: 1. This place needs better attention to detail... there was too much dust that there were cob webs on light fixtures, etc. 2. Service is VERY unprofessional! They need to be trained to handle service much better than they currently do! (Wine corking and pouring/tasting was poorly executed... Out server was rarely there, etc) 3. The bar area is EXTREMEY POORLY RUN!!! We've been many times over several years (even before Covid) and nothing has changed... they provide some very poor service in that bar... the bar is toooo loud with obnoxious golfers yelling, etc and their drink list is very limited. It's not an exaggeration when I say that each time we come here, for drinks, we have to wait 10 mins or more for someone to stop by and greet us at our table. This is simply silly! So, on a recent trip to stay at the Homestead, we came here one night and went across the street to LCD for drinks the next night - much cheaper and MUCH BETTER! This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. It has great service and great food. For the entrees we got the pork chops, Homestead prime rib ( Featured only on Friday and Saturday), and the kids spaghetti and meatballs. The prime rib was wonderful, full of flavor, and the sides of whipped potatoes and bacon wilted spinach were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had a chocolate mousse cake and a delectable s'mores cake. Both had chocolate mousse and ganache, though we felt as the chocolate mousse cake was better. Both the food and the service were mediocre. For the price, they should put more effort into to the dining experience.

Kids Mac & cheese (real) and chicken tender (real, fresh) and fries were great. As a parent I didn't mind having a couple bites of my kids leftovers. Our waitress brought out the kids food right away which was great. She even heated up the Mac and cheese for us later. The steak and bernaise sauce was delicious. The duck with gnocchi was fantastic and maybe the best my husband has ever had. The chimichurri potatoes were great too. read more

I'm glad to see they followed the Covid guidance with tables 6-10 feet apart, wait staffs wearing gloves and Mask. Food are great, we all enjoyed our dinner, we ordered steak, Allegheny Trout and chicken strips for our son. The only minor thing is for a $48 steam it should at least come with a side, my husband have to order his mash potato separately. Overall all the staff are nice and friendly but the hostess service need to be improved, for a high end restaurant in a very nice hotel this I hope he was just a trainees. read more

I came here as part of a stay at the Homestead and really enjoyed my experience. I didn't have a reservation, but I came at a low part in the season, so it wasn't a problem. I love how there's a gluten-free/vegan menu as well, and although I'm not either, I ended up getting something off of that menu (cauliflower steak). I don't believe I've ever tried cauliflower steak before, and it was really yummy. There was some kind of jerk sauce that was spicy on it, and it also came with quinoa. Yummmy, and just the right amount of spice and flavor. I also tried the mint julep, which was extremely alcoholic (just a heads up! But maybe you get what you pay for? :)) The service was a bit slow, but I'm on vacation, so there's no need to rush anything. I enjoyed the ambiance. There are two sides to the Jefferson (bar and restaurant), and at the bar, you can also get food, but it's more like smaller bites, so I opted for the restaurant. This was the alternate restaurant during the week being the main dining room was closed. So this review is for the restaurant portion. I am going ahead and giving them 4 stars just because of the manager, Kevin, who tried to make right a nasty situation that proved also an embarrassment for the restaurant. And as awful as it initially made our dining experience, I don't think it would be fair to hang a one star rate on them considering the sincerity Kevin showed with rectifying an inexcusable incident. Expensive? yes but it is a resort so you shouldn't expect McDonalds prices View? Yes, lovely view over the lawn and hillside from the dining area. Food quality? Spot on; delicious. The lamb was decadently rich and flavorful. The chicken savory and prepared well. Service? Slow. Echoing previous reviews, they still seem to struggle with service timing to include access to the wine (the waiter could not find our selection nor could he initially find management to access the wine room). read more

Good food and nice ambiance but service was slow and unorganized and not what I expected at a nice restaurant in The Homestead. The appetizer bread with whipped honey butter is delicious to start. The corn pudding was also very tasty and you don't see that on menus much anymore. Their old fashioned cocktail was very good too. However, the cocktails didn't arrive until our food did, which is not what you'd expect from a place like this, and not how we prefer to start a meal. Our water was never refilled unless we asked for it, and we also had to ask twice for the whipped honey butter and olive oil (on the menu to accompany the bread) that didn't arrive with the bread. I've worked in numerous restaurants and the guest should never have to flag down the waiter every 5 minutes for basic needs. Additionally, there was water leaking from the stained ceiling above, and it landed in my hair twice and then on my hand as I was eating a bite of food. When I alerted the waiter, he said, I've been feeling drops too (enthusiastically). No apology or offer to move us, etc. Again, not the level of service you'd expect. Eventually we told the manager and she offered to move us, but it was out to the lounge area (not the same part of the restaurant where we were sitting for our meal). Disappointing. read more

I cannot express how glad I was to find a resort in Hot Springs. A resort that's classy, spotless, with a modern bar and restaurant attached. Upon entrance, you will find yourself in the bar and lounge area. Comfortable seating, wide windows overlooking the resort ground, and TV plastered everywhere. My co-worker and I opted to have our dinner at the lounge, rather than the dining room. It was much more casual and we were able to watch the game. 1. She Crab Soup: Savory, creamy, with bacon bits. Good, but heavy. 2. Lamb Chop - cooked well - watercress and tomato on the side were raw but deliciously fresh. Sauce was a bit strange. I asked for a side of gnocchi, which was pan fried. Not as great. On my second visit, I tried the Brunswick Soup, tomato based with shreds of meat - it was ok. My entree this time really blew me away though. I ordered their trout entree, with farro, tomato, and arugula. The trout was cut in small pieces, crispy skin. The sauce was warm and salty, mixed well with the farro. I really loved it! The only minor issue was the fact they charged my card multiple times. I used it to pay for drinks in the beginning, and they basically kept it open. We weren't shown a bill. It's really confusing when the bar bill came out to $13, then when they bring back the charged receipt, it was $30. I signed and tipped. Then at the end of the night, I get the whole bill charged. Inconsistent and not transparent at all. Overall: Great atmosphere. Great service. Decent food. Even with the minor hiccup, Jefferson's still deserve a 4-stars - for being fancy in the middle of nowhere. read more

So disappointed with our 2/12/22 dinner at the Jefferson Restaurant, a restaurant that used to be fantastic. The ambiance is beautiful but the food and service were horrible. The roasted oysters were tiny, tasted rancid and were flecked with tiny shells (poor shucking). The meatless bolognese was too salty and nearly tasteless. The tilefish special was fishy and not as advertised (waiter said it was served with risotto yet it was served with an undercooked, tasteless wheat berry). The 1/2 rack of lamb was yummy but only served with two lamb chops and two roasted cherry tomatoes. Very much overpriced at almost $70. The waiter was inattentive and unfamiliar with the menu. Very disappointing. Needs a chef and a new manager. read more
