We were referred to a well known children's organization to follow up in 2 days. The soonest orthopedic appointment available was 7 days later. Even though her injury was "stable", I didn't want to wait that long. My neighbor is a nurse who used to take care of Dr. Rechter's patients for years. She referred me to his office, and they were able to accommodate us the next day at the Katy location. The experience was extremely positive, from check in to check out. Dr. Rechter's bedside manner is professional, yet endearing. He confirmed the type of fracture and recommended continuing the sling for 2 weeks to allow the humerus to heal. We will then repeat the x-ray, and he will show her exercises to do and avoid to prevent reinjury. He asked about her pain, and it was well controlled with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. As patients, we see a limited side of our providers, yet we place our complete trust in their hands. My neighbor adds that not only do his patients love him, but he has the respect of his colleagues too. Her words, "Dr. Rechter is impeccable and the most genuine doctor" she's ever known. She commends his positive demeanor and expertise. Health care professionals have the best insight into physicians. I'm in no way criticizing the network where I was referred, but if my daughter did need surgery, I would wait weeks to see Dr. Rechter if I had to. We were scheduled for surgery as soon as possible, hoping he would get some playing time in his Jr year. Although that wasn't to be, Dr. Rechter was with us every step of the way. He performed the surgery beautifully and got him ready to return to the ballfield for summer ball and Varsity in his senior year. I would highly recommend him and the staff as your first choice.

After surgery at his own surgical center, you drive 800 yards and stay at a nice Holiday Inn Express and see his PA two days later and head home. He allowed me to use telemedicine appoints on the front and backend which literally saved my 12 hours of driving and a hotel each time. I abandoned my walker as soon as I got home and have been getting better and better ever since. Notice that in the before picture (on the left), I had almost no curvature in my neck. Now, my body has learned to maintain a nice, normal curve. In the next x-ray, you will notice that when I first went in, my head was actually positioned a little crooked. Now, it is much straighter, all the way down into the spine. The coolest part of these X-rays is that when I had the new ones done, I had not had a treatment on my neck in at least 3 weeks, which means that my body has been re-trained to maintain this healthy new position. I am blown away with this doctor and the effectiveness of his technique!
