If I could give zero stars I would... I tried to leave a review on google and it was removed so..... I came here for lipo and fat transfer last year and I wish I never went. Dr Hartog is definitely self obsessed denying he ever makes a mistake not for just my procedure but I heard him make excuses with two other women and their botched breasts while I went to get him to fix the mess he did. He left huge scars, was impossible to get a hold of after surgery, extremely rude when voicing concerns, his staff talked bad about me when I asked too many questions, uneven lipo, has no modern knowledge of the post op for lipo... didn't even recommend I wear a garment he said wear spanks, we lipod my arms now they're deformed from wearing no garment on his recommendation. I went to get my surgery redone which I already paid 8k for .. he offered to fix it for 5k.... I literally went to Miami and doctors laughed at the job he had done.. thank god I got it fixed from another doctor!!! read more

I truly cannot recommend Dr. Hartog. This review is long overdue, and my experience has stayed on my mind for years. I received a breast augmentation in 2012 from Dr. Hartog. I chose him because my mom had gone the year prior for a different procedure and she had a great experience. Even more so, I was so excited for the surgery, I was not as picky as I should have been. The initial appointment was fine, as others have said his bedside manner isn't great. The appointment lasted less than 5 minutes with him and he briefly looked at me, scribbled some notes, recommended 300cc and left. A few weeks later, I came back for the actual fitting. Dr. Hartog was not present at the appointment. It was a young woman who was very friendly. I'm a tall girl, and while I was slender at the time, it was apparent in the fitting that 300cc would not give me the desired result. I asked the woman if 375cc would be okay and she assured me it'd be fine, even exclaimed that she had much larger implants herself. I did their imaging thing, and again, 300cc just looked much too small, so she put me down for 375cc. She assured myself AND my conservative mother that it wouldn't be an issue. The day of surgery was the next time I saw Dr. Hartog. I was understandably nervous. He came in when it was time for my pre-op photos to be taken. He remarked something snakily to the effect of "oh, I see you went larger than my recommendation" and I said "the woman at the fitting said it was okay, is it okay?" and he responded something like "I don't know, I guess we will find out"!?!?. As if he was annoyed that I didn't follow his recommendation. A few problems here: should the doctor not be reviewing patients size decisions BEFORE they are going back for surgery to discuss with them? The office could have called me a week before and asked me to come back in if there was an issue. Second off, you really shouldn't be making unsettling comments to patients before they go under the knife like that. I was truly shocked, but at only 20 years old, and eager to have the surgery I tried my best to shrug it off. The real issue was when I was woken up for surgery. Someone messed up, REALLY messed up, and I was not given any kind of pain medication before waking up. I've had anesthesia since this surgery and I can confidently say, this was NOT simply a bad reaction to anesthesia. This was waking up from surgery with no pain meds at all. The pain was unimaginable, and nothing like I have ever experienced in my life. I couldn't hardly breath and thought I was going to puke/pass out. The nurse told me to take one of my pain pills that I'd been prescribed?? Really?? And they honestly got me out of there as quickly as possible, probably because I was in an absolute panic. I sobbed the whole way home, shaking in shock and in excruciating pain. Within an hour though, the pain medicine had kicked in and I was honestly pretty comfortable throughout the remainder of the healing, ya know once I had pain medication in my system. However spending an hour in the WORST pain of my life was cruel, unnecessary and avoidable. I have never talked to anyone else who has experienced that level of pain when immediately waking up. I was extremely young, naive and just happy to have boobs finally. Going back, I would absolutely have gone to a different doctor. I don't know who messed up and allowed me to be woken up without pain meds, but the negligence is incredibly disturbing looking back. It is absolutely not normal to awake from surgery and find yourself at a 10/10 from the pain. While my results are adequate (not amazing), the experience was horrendous. I only went back for one follow up appointment right after the surgery because I felt obligated to. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where the doctor really cares and wouldn't treat a patient like this. read more

When I say the WORST doctor I mean it. I wish there was a way to give someone zero stars or a thumbs down. Anything to warn anyone who is considering Dr Hartog. I had my first set of breast implants done by this doctor in 2008, he put a moderate 400cc saline implant in my extremely small frame body. He also did not notice or measure me to realize that I have what is called pectus excavatum (which means my chest wall caves in a bit) as well as a extremely narrow chest. Without measuring and being knowledgeable enough to know any of this he put WAY too big and too wide of an implant on me. This resulted in me developing symmastia which is also know as uni-boob, kissing implants, or bread loafing. After 8 months my implants were touching in the center. I also lost all sensitivity in my breast nipples which was also because he cut a nerve while making his incision. When I came in he acted as nothing was wrong. When I pointed it out he said to fix it I would need smaller implants and he would have to sew down my chest wall in the center. So, there I went again under the knife to let him fix this problem which he caused. I went down to a 375cc silicone implant. Months later, the same problem occurred. I was told I would need to go smaller and he would have to sew down some more. So here I was, 21 years old and having my 3rd breast surgery in under 2 years. I went down to 350cc high profile implant. I should of had a 350cc high profile implant from the beginning and none of this would of happened. When I woke up he had me completely taped on the bottom. He told me to keep the tape on for a few weeks, so I did. When I finally removed it I had a scar off to the right side of my breast as if he were going to put in a drain or stabbed me on accident. When speaking to other doctors that's all they could guess it was, but it should of never happened. The scars he left on my nipples were AWFUL. You could tell he didnt cut properly where my skin met with my nipples. It was absolutely awful. Finally, I didn't have a uni-boob, but I definitely didn't have the breasts I thought I was going to achieve from getting breast enhancement. With this experience I have realized YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This doctor was cheap, easy to get an appointment with. Those were the first two signs. If a doctor is able to fit you in for surgery 3 days after your consultation, more than likely he's not a good doctor. If you go to Miami or Beverly Hills where a lot of the well known plastic surgeons are not only are they more expensive but you have to wait 3-6 months to even get a consultation and another 3 months to get a surgery date schedule. I really hope this yelp review does someone deciding to go to this doctor. SAVE YOURSELF. You can contact me personally and I will give you more information. My roommate at the time got her breast done from this doctor the same week as I did, we had scheduled together and she had an awful experience as well. Fortunately enough for her she was smart enough to let another doctor fix her problem instead of allowing him to do it 3 times like I did. Only reason I allowed him to do it is because he was only charging me for anesthesia. Go to someone reputable and if you have to pay a little more money than do it. ITS WORTH IT!!! In response to the doctors comment below. He is a complete liar. I didn't recommend what size implants I wanted, I asked for his suggestion as I am not a doctor, he is. I was allowing him to make the decision not knowing what the difference was between moderate, high profile, or extra high profile. I was a young 20 year old girl just coming in to get her breast enhanced. He never once mentioned that I had pectus excavatum. He also never measured me, this must be something he now does. He did such a horrible job that I recently requested for my file including photos to have my file looked at by a different surgeon for revision and he wouldn't even release them per my request. He is probably that embarrassed of his work. Any doctor would look at the photos and know exactly what the doctor did and it was completely his own error. I also love how he has no response for the gash he left on the right side of my boob. He should get his eyes checked, he couldn't even make a clean incision on my aerola. This doctor shouldn't be practicing. When he messes you up he will just ignore you, since he's already collected the payment. I also have never had surgery done at a doctors office who only pricks your finger for blood and a pregnancy test. A real doctor will send you for completely blood work to make sure everything is ok before going under the knife. Awful, awful doctor. He should be showing up in the OR wearing a bozo the clown outfit. Save yourself, please. You will thank me later. I no longer live in Florida but I have had friends who have had amazing results from Dr Fiala. Trust me. I was a patient of Dr. Hartog's back in 2002. Dr. Hartog and his staff were all very professional, and I was extremely happy with the results of my procedure. I can attest to the fact that Dr. Hartog does measure his patients, and he doesn't recommend ever going over large or doing anything when you are young. Based on my experiences with Dr. Hartog, as well as the experiences of everyone I have sent to him over the years (there have been MANY- at least ten people that I can think of) he is nothing less than professional and seems to always get exceptional, natural looking results. I highly recommend him! I have also heard that his wife does the best botox in the area! I have never had it myself but was told by someone that I referred that she did it almost painlessly. Their prices are comparably, if not a little higher than some other doctors in the area but worth every penny! read more

This review is way overdue but this has been bothering me for years. I've had a bad experience with my first implants they encapsulated and I was in pain I went to Dr. Hartog to get them redone thinking that would fix the problem, I was young and his prices where competitive so I went with him knowing that he was not personable, was very rude and short. I realize now after almost 20 years suffering that most of us women will suffer at some point from Breast Implant illness but most doctors won't talk about that because they make so much money of these surgeries. When I came back to him after surgery he was very dismissive and cold. Do yourself a favor and do your own research on Breast Implant Illness it can cause burning and pulling in your breasts, insomnia, anxiety, depression the list goes on. Look for a doctor that cares if you had issues with your first set of implants, the second set or third won't help. It's only a matter of time before your body rejects the poison you are putting in. Don't waste your time consulting with this doctor. I've been doing a ton of research over the past 2 years and this is the 4th doctor I have consulted with in my search for a doctor to provide my services (not just my services, but a doctor to recommend for my clients, as I am a local esthetician with a high clientele who have been asking me where to go for cosmetic surgery and injectibles) he came in, took a look and rudely stated that I need a breast lift, a tummy tuck, and arm lipo (so far, the only doctor who has told me this, and I've spoken with high demand surgeons in miami). I told him I was not interested in these services and he didn't even bother finding any middle ground or showing me any reference to back his claim. He had a terrible bedside manner and no regard for what I wanted. It seemed to me like he just wanted to recommend services that will put more money in his pockets rather than what will make his patients happy. I'm so disgusted! I went to Dr Hartog office inquiring on how to get rid of my love handles he suggested I do a tummy tuck so I did it and I could have saved a lot of money and so much pain from such an extensive surgery because I still look the same my love handles are still there and my stomach pokes out still. I complained and he told me i need more lipo on my love handles or extend my scar to my back and a bill of 1500 if I'm going to do the lipo. I shouldn't have to pay for something that should have been done at surgery. If your going to do a tummy tuck beware and go somewhere else. read more
