We were sad that a place with so many 5-star reviews misled us with the charges, treated us poorly when we tried to resolve, and broke state law in the process. As you can see from the picture of the receipts, the total cost for a given treatment was $377.50. However, the actual charge to us was $392.41. The receipt sent to us didn't even mention the service charge, as you can see - only the credit card printout hinted that we were paying more than shown. The reason for the 3.95% surcharge/service fee? They "don't want to raise prices:, therefore they now pass along any credit card fees (or even debit cards) - which is a sneaky way to do a price increase. They say they disclose all this to customers, that we could have paid cash or check...however we were never informed of this. Note that this "policy" is not in writing anywhere, nor is it displayed at the cashier. So we have paid $14.91 extra every appointment, when we could have wrote checks instead. We called and talked to the owner Cathy to try to resolve, and I expected we would receive an apology, perhaps even a refund for the service charges. Instead, she was rude, insisted my wife just can't hear properly, and then hung up on us! Very disappointing that a place with otherwise good service could be dishonest like this. Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way…read more I had one laser treatment for age spots, and almost three weeks later, **not one spot or area looks better.** In fact, my skin looks worse. I have had IPL and PICO laser treatments in the past (not here), so I understand that multiple treatments are often needed for full results and clearer skin. I wasn't expecting perfect results from one treatment, but I was certainly expecting some indication that the areas had actually been treated. Instead, it seems like additional spots that hadn't even surfaced before were brought out, so I now feel like I have twice as many spots. None of the treated spots have flaked off or improved, and I also have a wound on my shoulder that bled and still has not healed, which was not there before the treatment. I texted their texting line to let them know what was happening and received **no response at all.** At my follow-up appointment, the doctor came in and immediately wanted to do more laser. At that point, I did not feel comfortable allowing them to do another treatment. While I was waiting for the doctor, my daughter actually pointed out a roach crawling on the wall behind me. The office itself is dingy and simply does not feel clean or well maintained. The front desk staff initially seems nice, but when you ask questions or express concerns, the attitude quickly becomes irritated and passive-aggressive. I paid almost $600 and, almost three weeks later, feel that my skin is worse than when I walked in. I'm extremely disappointed with both the results and the lack of follow-up or concern when I reached out. My advice is to take your time finding a reputable dermatologist. It may take longer to get an appointment, but in my experience, it's worth waiting for a place you feel comfortable trusting with your skin.
