I also pay in cash so I can avoid the usual credit card surcharge that many businesses charge. Secondly, I haven't felt and looked this good in years. I'm 50 and most folks think I'm in my late 30's-early 40's. I always get excited for my appts because they make getting my services a lot of fun. I feel cared for and pampered and there is never any discomfort for me with my more involved services. When I went to check in, they didn't even know who I was or that I had an appointment! We sat in the waiting room for 45 mins before they called me into a small room that smelled of dead, burnt skin and chemicals. I sat in that room for 30 mins!! All the while I can hear the "Dr" in his office across the hall making personal phone calls and then lunch plans. The receptionist came in and apologized 4 times, saying that the Dr would be right in. Yeah right. Finally, I decided that I was going to leave. As I was putting on my sons coat, the Dr walked in. I wish more than anything that I had just kept walking. He spoke to me about my eczema for all of 4 mins and then sent me on my way. The entire experience from start to finish was completely ridiculous! The receptionist was completely incapable of even making an appointment, let alone offering good customer service. I am beyond disappointed through this entire experience. I received a phone call over a month after my appointment stating that they were trying to get with my insurance over my prescriptions, which they never did. They never followed through with any of the things they said that they were going to. I was also supposed to receive a call from them to schedule a follow up appointment. Surprise...no call from them! No matter, I would NEVER go back there again, and I'm hoping that this review will stop anyone who is thinking of going to this office. Finally, I received my 1ST bill from them in the mail on 12/28/2011 and less than a month later, they sent me to collections. I was told that they were going to get with my insurance and they would bill me accordingly. Not only did they not communicate with me that my insurance wasn't going to cover this bill, but they also sent me to collections less than 1 month after I received my bill!!! I have NEVER been so utterly disgusted with a service that I've received. In this case, lack of service! Go ANYWHERE but here if you are looking for a good Dermatologist. Terrible service, lack of care for their patients and complete disregard for how valuable your time is. You will be wishing you never stepped foot into this place, as I am today. Not to mention, I was charged nearly $400.00 for the 4 mins I spent with the Dr. Wow, who knew that a Dermatologist made $100.00 an hour for doing absolutely nothing. I'm in the wrong profession! I hope if you have skin problems that you find an answer to your discomfort. I certainly did not with this Dr. Even the $40 script that he prescribed didn't do anything for me. Would NEVER go back there again after how we were treated on more than one occasion. The medical care may be exceptional, but it's that final interaction that can make it an absolutely horrible experience. Customer beware if you get a call from her as she is epically nasty from minute one. Never even paid late or did anything to deserve it and yet she treats you like an idiot, is very unprofessional and lacks customer service in any way shape or form. It is truly unfortunate for the medical professionals who work there as they will continue to lose customers due to her and not the medical cares.

I want to share my experience with Alaska Dermatology Laser & Skin Care Center today…read more Arrived for my 10:00am appointment at 9:55am. No one was at the front desk. Had to say hello a couple times until the receptionist came from in the back area to help me. She said to have a seat and the doctor would see me in just a few minutes. There was no one else in the waiting room so I figured this would be quick. Wrong, at 10:25am I am still sitting there and there had not been another patient so once again I said hello because the receptionist had went back to the back area and I could hear her visiting with another woman. I went around the corner so they could see me and I asked her if the doctor was even here. She said, "Yes he is, he is in his office doing paperwork"! I said well I had a 10am appointment and it was now 10:25am and I needed to get to work by 10:30am. She said, "Well you will never make that. He will be with you in a little bit." I informed her I would be making that because I was leaving. She asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I said NO. She said you know this is your 1 year follow up visit and it is very important. I told her I would take my chances and wouldn't be back. It would have been one thing if he was with another patient but to find out he was in his office doing paperwork and ignoring the fact that my appointment was at 10am was insulting. I will be contacting my insurance to get the name of another preferred provider and going to them for a check up. Worst patient care ever.
