He recommended I see a Urologist and if the pain episodes were too serious to wait. go to the ER. I made an appointment with a Urologist but as days passed before that appointment I had several more episodes of the intense pain. I went to the ER where heretofore I and my late wife have had very good experiences. Anticipating a long wait, I brought a book to read. The triage nurse conducted a comprehensive review of what I was experiencing. I waited about 4 hours. It was late at night when the ER doctor joined me in the examination room. The ER had been very busy and I perceived that he was tired. Stating that, since I already had orders for a CT scan and blood test, I was wasting ER time. He did not examine me. At the appointment with the Urologist he asked questions and did an ultrasound scan of my abdomen. He declared that my bladder was "dead" and I'd be on catheters and plastic bags. I then made an appointment with Dr. Nazaroff at the Arizona Urology Center. After a comprehensive series of tests he started treating me for the prostate problem, On my second appointment I complained to Dr. Nazaroff that the episodes of pain were continuing. He performed a quick exam and declared the the pain problem that started me on this adventure is a hernia! Totally unrelated to the prostate! I am now on my way fixing the prostate problem with a truly fine doctor. He and the Arizona Urology Center staff are wonderful. And now I have an appointment with a surgical clinic that has received high reviews on Yelp. The surgeon will fix my hernia. That clinic will be the subject of my next review.

Two days after the appointment his PA called to say they were still waiting for a physical paper with the approval even though they had verbal approval. This was a Friday. My wife followed up the following Monday to ask about the approval and to ask about surgery dates. This set off his PA. Instead of arguing my wife hung up. The PA decided to do nothing. Three weeks later we called to follow up to find out that they abandoned my care but did so in a manner that violates law. Two days later I was admitted into the hospital with complete ureter blockage. $80k dollar to have an emergency stent placed. Dr Chavez blames my wife instead of taking responsibility for his staff. Claims we are outliers even though Google reviews also include issue with his staff. It seems we are not the outliers and this is not unique. If you chose to go to Desert Mountain, you better hope his staff is not having a bad day with you call or visit or you might be an outlier too.

They finally called in my dad at 9:50. I asked if Dr was running late and the medical assistant said that the computers were down! The doctor DID NOT come in the room until 10:30. Hopefully this was a one time incident and people from Nogales (especially the elderly) don't have to put up with this nonsense. Disgusting!

We arrived and were told at the front desk that "administration" wouldn't accept any patients of Dr. Barmatz's (who retired). No matter that my husband's ureter is blocked with a kidney stone nor that they had accepted our Primary's referral and they waited until we were in the office at their desk to refuse us treatment. If this is the way they treat a potential patient, how horrible is their patient care??

Deplorable! First appointment: The provider, Jennifer, was snippy and accused me of lying about my…read moremedical history, although I was telling the truth. Then, she did not address my concerns. Two weeks later, I got a UTI. They microscopically verified an infection but would not start antibiotics, although I am high risk. They lied, saying the on-call doctor would call me and prescribe antibiotics if the lab results came in over the weekend. Saturday, the results were in ― no call. I wrote them through the patient portal and provided a PDF of the lab results. Sunday, I called their answering service, who called back, saying the on-call doctor does not provide prescriptions to Dr. Bernstein's patients. Monday, day five of UTI, still no antibiotics! I contacted my PC, who prescribed an antibiotic. I returned to the patient portal and told Urology Care to forget about prescribing antibiotics and cancel all my future appointments. They called, saying they were going to prescribe an antibiotic but were waiting for the lab results. Nonsense! I sent the lab results to them over the weekend via the patient portal. Bottom line: They accused me of lying, didn't address my concerns, then lied to me twice, and left me without care. Despicable!
