This was our second visit to this Jeni's location. Having food allergies, I particularly like how sensitive and accommodating they are. There are dairy-free, gluten-free, and both dairy- and gluten-free options available. My significant other doesn't have any restrictions, so had a very wide choice. On the other hand, there was only one dairy- and gluten-free option on their menu the day we were there - a berry and lemonade sorbet. With no other option available, I did try it and it was good. (They had three different options we could get in pints, but we didn't have a freezer bag to carry it home in.) Jeni's was crowded both times we were there, and I'm sure it has to do with the caliber of their ice cream and wide variety of choices. I didn't count but will guess there were over 30 flavors available for cups or cones. And, their 1/2 scoops are the size of normal scoops. The smallest size available in a cup is two 1/2 scoops. And the difference in price between the sizes is very small. If you have enough of an appetite, I would opt for the larger sizes. The service was great. Such a cute little shop. Nice and clean decor. Standing room only. Line seemed long but moved so smoothly. Every associate greeted their customers with smiles. Good variety of flavors, even dairy free options. I tired the signature three half scoops: Milkiest Chocolate, Burnt Orange Dreamsicle and Green Mint Chip! I recommend ALL three flavors. PLUS - they let you sample with the cutest little gold tone reusable spoons so I sampled Sparkling Cherry Pie. Also a recommend, as well as my daughter's choice Lemon Blueberry! So many options. Don't let the fact that there is no seating make you pass up such a great spot! It was very comforting to see everyone outside after hours on benches, store front steps and seated next to the landscape enjoying their Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. I love Jeni's! The first time I went was in Nashville a couple of years ago. Didn't know they had one in Naperville until recently. Not sure what it is about this ice cream, but it's delicious! Though this store may be a little smaller than the enormous one nearby at the Oakbrook shopping center, it has all the same positive attributes that make it highly recommend for a sweet treat. The interior is decorated beautifully from wall to wall, the store is filled with the amazing smell of waffle, the service is friendly with a smile, the prices are reasonable (for the quality of product you're getting), and the flavors are consistently good. I've been to several Jeni's across the Chicagoland area and out of state. Jeni's is always so creative with their flavors. I tried their new cookie dough flavor, and it was amazing - not going to lie, that's not my typical flavor of choice but I'm glad staff recommended it to me. Apart from that, I was also able to try their new green mint chip, and it's probably my new favorite. I had three scoops of ice cream on this trip -- the green mint chip, cookie dough, and Texas sheet cake. She gave me a container to take it to go as well as a waffle bowl to go. Everything was well-packaged nicely. I love that they make their waffle bowls and cones in house, and you can even smell it from outside. I also bought a pint of cookie dough to go -- my partner really loved it too. A couple of tips here: they have dairy free options, they don't really have tables and chairs to hang out, and it's limited street parking that's first come first serve. You may have to walk a block or two to park at a lot. It's not a dealbreaker for me as I loved the service here and the options they have, and I'd recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a treat! read more

Love this new Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams location in Naperville!! The store was SO clean, cute, and cozy. There are no seats so you would definitely need to take your ice cream to go. The staff was so sweet and so willing to answer any and all questions about their flavors. The flavors I got were brambleberry crisp, gooey butter cake, and cookies & cream. All were easily a 10/10, soooo scrumptious! I love their unique flavors so much, I definitely want to come back and try some more like the pistachio macaron, cognac with gingerbread, and brown butter almond brittle. After hearing so much hype about this ice cream, I finally got the chance to experience it at the newest location that just recently opened, right on Main Street. As soon as you walk in the shop, you immediately get hit with that wonderful ice cream scent -- fresh milk, sugar, and cream, which are all cornerstone, foundational ingredients of their many delectable flavors that are displayed in the cases. From honey vanilla bean to darkest chocolate to wildberry lavender, you will experience a smooth, thick, and creamy product that is not excessively sweet nor filled with any artificial flavors. My favorite was the bramble berry crumble, a good blend of flavors with a balanced fruity and creamy taste. The wild lavender was pretty good too, with subtle hints of tartness with a sweet aftertaste. The cranberry crumble was quite tart (obviously, with the cranberry!), so it wasn't my favorite. What a cute little shop! When you walk in there is an entire case of flavors that lines the wall. On the opposite side there is a cute little "bar" that you can stand and enjoy your ice cream at. There is also a lovely display of colorful Jeni swag. The shop was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly and knew their flavors! I enjoyed a half scoop of the Gooey Butter Cake and Brambleberry Crisp. Both were very tasty! I was a huge fan of their unique waffle cone, which I got in my cup, it was buttery and had a nice crunch. First waffle cone I have ever liked. Jeni's is located at Jefferson & Main St, not far from the Starbucks Reserve. The interior is somewhat small and there's no seating, but other than that it's nothing out of the ordinary. The Jeni's in Oak Brook is larger and has seating, so it feels nicer. Ice cream takeout is fine in the warmer months, but not so much in the fall and winter. Anyway, there was a good selection of flavors, and there were multiple buckets of the same flavor, so less risk that a good flavor will run out for the day. Some of the flavor choices included Mexican hot chocolate, pistachio macaron, sugar plum, brambleberry crisp, brown butter almond brittle, and cold brew coconut cream. So yeah, they've got some unique flavors. You can get ice cream in a cone or a bowl (which includes a triangular piece of waffle cone). We ordered a trio in a bowl (which thankfully they have plastic covers for, making it easy to transport home). Three scoops might sound like a lot of ice cream, but the scoops are small, which I suppose is fine for premium ice cream. (Technically, I believe each scoop is considered a half scoop.) I think the pricing for a trio was roughly the same as one serving from Ben & Jerry's. Anyway, the flavors we chose were milkiest chocolate, honey vanilla, and salted peanut butter. The chocolate and vanilla were both good, but nothing really special about them compared to chocolate and vanilla from any other ice creamery. The salted peanut butter, though, was out of this world. The PB flavor really shined through, and the chocolate flakes were a nice touch. read more

I love the location of this Naperville Jeni's ice cream! It's on a street where it is not overly crowded but still a lot of foot and car traffic. I use to go to the different locations in the city. So glad that there is one by home now....well...compared to Oakbrook as well. It's a little bit smaller than Oakbrook, but it's fine. It's nice & clean as well. There are so many flavors to choose from & I love how there are more than 2 flavors that are seasonal. The staff was really nice & patient....because I of course, am that undecided person. I had the pleasure of attending their Yelp Elite event to celebrate the opening of this location. I tried three of the seasonal flavors: mexican hot chocolate, pistachio macaron, and sugar plum. All three were equally amazing. I love that Jeni's uses quality ingredients and always has wonderful seasonal flavors. Some of my "year round" favorites are gooey butter cake, brown butter almond brittle, and Rainbow BFY. They do have some tables outside, but only a standing counter inside. Jenis is finally in Naperville! This is a super famous ice cream place in Chicago and the quality doesn't change for Naperville. When you walk in you can immediately get that waffle smell and know that it's Jenis! I think the only difference is that there are less flavors than the Chicago locations. The portions are pretty generous so don't order anything crazy and you'll still be satisfied. One note is that they don't have any seating area, so make sure to have a plan on where to go after, especially in the winter! read more

This was my first time coming here. The atmosphere is very cute and I like that they have a line up of unique flavors. I got one scoop of bramble berry and one of the vanilla in a waffle bowl. The vanilla had hints of other flavors and was super delicious! I liked the bramble berry, but I kept getting caught up on the oatmeal pieces. They were chewy and kind of took away from the experience. The waffle bowl wasn't sweet at all. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, and that's fine, but to me it was almost...salty?
