It was nice. I've never been to an ice cream shop that had small metal spoons. It made the experience for sampling extremely better. The tiny wooden scoopers ruin the taste and the tiny plastic spoons seem like a waste so this was really cool. I'm not so impressed with the shallowness of the paper cup. 2 half scoops seem pretty small for the price but the quality is great. The waffle cone was a good touch. A pint for $12 was also steep. Workers were friendly. The sit down area was great too. If I'm in town, I'll go back for sure. read more

Had a great experience at the Celebrate new flavors at Jeni's event at the Clintonville Jeni's this week. The event offered one "Signature" (3 half scoops and a waffle cone wedge) for you and one for your +1. My friend and I arrived on a Thursday evening around 7 pm. The restaurant was pretty busy when we got there and there were only two people working. Shortly after being there for a little, the line was moving quickly and two more people stepped in to help. I tried all the new summer flavors and I'm happy to say my favorite is still the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. This ice cream has Brown butter almond candy crushed into buttercream ice cream. The summer flavors that I tried were the Double Double which is Chocolate chip cookie dough swirled into a buttery brown sugar custard. Tastes like cookie dough with a side of cookie dough. I really liked the Double Double. I did not however like the Sparkling Cherry Pie and the Snow Cone Sorbet was good but too sweet. read more

Went in to get a pint of ice cream. It was so busy (as expected!). A line looped around the inside, but it moves fairly fast for a place that offers sample tastings. Lol. After tasting ice cream we upped our order to FOUR pints of ice cream. Lol. She asked if we had joined the "club" we had not. A quick scan of the offer to join then club and I find I need to now download an app. Enter all my data in app then activate. This would slow down line. So.... Instead of Jeni's asking for me to just step aside a bit as I do this -she says "you can download it later, just sign up and add ponts with your receipt". Sounds easy. Flips the ipad around. Now its asking for a tip (for take out that has been prepackaged, they didnt scoop it fresh...???? ). Irritated by being rushed and that the screan wants a 18-25% tip added for "take out pints", I leave a dollar for the two bowls of ice cream we did have her actually get. (I hate feeling bullied into tipping for take out) Now the person behind me is rolling their eyes getting impatient. So feeling self conscious I hit the fastest option "no receipt" As soon as I realize my mistake I ask can you reprint my receipt please. She replies nicely "no, I dont know how now that you pushed that button" before she begins to take the next order. So I was out the 60 purch points of four pints and two bowls because I felt rushed.. Bummer! Was disappointed about that, tbo However I LOVED my bowl of ice cream. I first sulked while eating my bowl but soon found the non dairy lemon may be better than any ice cream I have ever had. Somehow hadn't been to this location and when we drove right by after Baby K said she wanted ice cream, we swung in. Didn't have the strawberry she wanted, but we got a special, jelly donut. Supposed to taste like a donut with raspberry jam inside and powdered sugar on it. She said... kinda. There are chunks of donut, apparently, and it does taste like raspberry jam. It's super creamy, has plenty of sprinkles, and also has chunks of sheet cake inside! My daughter and I both loved it. I had a scoop inside of a waffle cone. While I typically really enjoy the waffle cone, my waffle cone this time was extremely salty. I actually didn't finish the waffle cone (once my ice cream was gone). This is not common for me! Who needs another Jeni's review? The flavors aren't going to be for everyone. I'm partial to a few - Salty Caramel, Brown Bitter Almond Brittle, Savannah Buttermint, and Roxbury Road - but I like to try other flavors too. On my most recent visit I got the Frose Rose Sorbet (very light and refreshing), the cream puff (think ice cream base with crunchy bits of cream puff inside) and Brown Butter Almond Brittle with a signature waffle cone. I could be wrong but I think the recipe for the waffle cone changed within the past two or three years. (I usually get my ice cream in a dish.) Not sure if the salt taste is more pronounced in the new recipe or if it stood out because my brown butter almond brittle was at the bottom. Customer service is always excellent. I love going to this store, it's as good as all the other Jeni's in terms of the ice cream. The ice cream is super creamy and they have new flavors all the time. I'm more of a fan of fruity flavors because they tend to be less sweet than the other kinds. My absolute FAVORITE and also one of their most popular flavors is the brambleberry crisp. It comes with real berries and little bites of a crispy pie crust like dough. I usually get in a double on a sugar cone or in a bowl that comes with a waffle wedge. For the second flavor, i typically choose one of the new or temporary flavors. Currently, I like getting the peach cream because it comes with little chunks of peach! I particularly like this store because the staff is superb. It's not as busy as the one in the short north so there's more time to talk to the employees. On one occasion, the employee enjoyed talking to me so much that he gave me a card for a free triple scoop of ice cream! I believe his name was Andrew, Andrew thank you so much! You made my day! I don't expect to get this wonderful opportunity all the time, but I am very grateful for it and I will never cease to stop by this store to get more ice Absolutely love Jeni's! Lots of cool flavored to be had here. During covid times they don't offer samples to try but we made that part of the fun. I got pumpkin cake roll and bramblbarry ice cream. Very flavorful and yummy. We came here on a pretty cold day but yummy cold ice cream on a cold day wasn't so bad.
