I stopped by this walk-up location for a mid-afternoon ice cream break on a hot Wednesday in mid-June 2025. This place is adjacent to Brown Bag deli but is easy to miss. First, the double dough flavor was really delicious. Second, there were only 2 tables with limited seating. Third, Schiller Park is only one block away (to the south). The employee at Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream was nice and offered to give samples before I committed to a particular flavor. If you're exploring the German Village area and walking through Schiller Park on a hot day, this place is well worth a stop for an ice cream break.

Double Dough. I sampled some dark chocolate ice cream with chili crisp on it as well it was mind blowing in a good way!

Jenis has become a CONGLOMERATE. Nothing I say yay or nay will sway the public but I just wanted to put my two cents in on a spot I had no clue existed. After stepping out Brown Bag Deli for a delicious sandwich boom there it is right next door, Jenis. I sampled some dark chocolate ice cream with some chili crisp seasoning on it and it was unique and spicy and sweet. It was almost like eating General Tso's Ice cream or something. It was for a limited time so it may not be there anymore but it is good! If you're in the Schiller Park area and want to cool off then head on over! Nothing like washing down your exercise with some ice cream!

My wife and I got a cup of Brambleberry ice cream and it was delicious! Would recommend walking to the nearby park and enjoying your tasty treat!

If you happen to be in Columbus and are hankering for some homemade ice cream - run don't walk to Jeni's. The location I went to is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in the German Village. Jeni's trades in a handful of unique often seasonal flavors you won't find anywhere else. They also make their own waffle cones. I got the Darkest Chocolate, which I can only describe as eating a dark chocolate brownie in ice cream form. 10/10 would come here again. Would try the OG location in the Short North which I hear has more flavors.

I would consider Jeni's more of a "fancy" ice cream situation. If you want classic flavors then this would not be the place for you. However the flavors they have are pretty solid. They have unique flavors (goat cheese, etc) along with more standard (peanut butter, darkest chocolate). This is a walk up window so sometimes it doesn't have as many flavors as other locations, but it usually has a decent assortment. What I do love about Jeni's is that you can get two half scoops if you are torn between flavors. I stuck with more conventional options and got the darkest chocolate and salty peanut butter. They went well together. My girlfriend the honey vanilla bean and she thought it was okay. Overall if you're in the mood for some different ice cream flavors this is definitely worth a stop. Just know that there is no seating, it's a window only.

TWO SCOOPS of Brambleberry crisp and darkest chocolate in a fresh from the waffle maker cone. Yew!!

Her ice cream is good for the soul. I have this location just a few blocks down the road from me. It's really not right. Lol We went A LOT this summer while walking around in the high heat of the summer. Fixed all my problems. :) My favorite here is the cold brew non-dairy ice cream. It's the best mix of both worlds. My other favorites are brambleberry crisp and darkest chocolate. This location is a lot smaller than the others. Choices are very limited in terms of flavors because of it. Other locations have more and in the past have each served different flavors. Grandview serves this cherry flavor that I am IN LOVE with but neither my location nor the Short North location serve it and I'm closer to those. I gave this location a 4 because a few times either the ice cream wasn't made right and was real crumbly (hard for walking with my dog) or the person behind the counter made all of us wait while she finished making waffle cones (knowing we were all standing there). When she got to the window seemed a tad bit annoyed.. Could have just been a bad day for her everyone else here is usually just so nice. I mean it's ice cream. Ice cream makes everything better, especially if it's coming from Jeni's #blessup

Honey Vanilla Bean ice cream! So special and yummy.

Jeni's in German Village is the cutest little walk-up window ice cream spot! There weren't many flavors to choose from but honestly, I've always believed in quality over quantity. The Honey Vanilla Bean ice cream was sooo good. I've never tasted vanilla ice cream that was so truly authentic. I chose to add rainbow sprinkles but I almost wish I hadn't - the ice cream was the star all on its own. That said, the waffle bowl was fantastic too! I could smell the waffle smell as I was walking down the street and it was mesmerizing. Definitely a great little spot to stop at, especially on a beautiful, sunny day!

Some people might complain that the German Village Jeni's has too few flavors, but I don't really mind. I find that I try different flavors than I normally would here, and it's the cutest. I love walking here with my dog. They used to have dog biscuits, so he walks up to the window like he's the one ordering, but they haven't had them recently, so he gets the waffle cone piece out of my trio. No need to feel sorry for him! Going to miss having a Jeni's in walking distance from me when I leave Columbus. FYI: If you like citrusy or tart flavors, don't sleep on Sunshine. I'm a chocoholic and have passed on Texas Sheet Cake to order this several times. If you're not sure just ask for a sample! They are always very nice about this. Bonus points for compostable dishes and silverware.

This Jeni's location is tucked away in German Village, so you'll definitely have to keep your eyes open to find it, but it's the cutest little ice cream spot! You just walk up to the window and they give you your ice cream. While they often run out of a lot of flavors at this location (and they don't have as many as other shops), they do still have great options! I got a scoop of the darkest chocolate and it was tasty! Nothing beats a yummy ice cream after a long walk in the park!! Jeni's is great ice cream, no doubt, but the ice cream is pricey! It's fun to go get ice cream every now and again, and I would only stop at a Jeni's once in a while. One scoop is $5.25, so prepare your wallet! I would definitely recommend Jeni's and this is the perfect location to get your ice cream fix!

Ah, the beauty of care, creativity, and fine craftsmanship in frozen dairy form. A marriage of dessert artistry and successful commerce. Magnificent! I am not a local and therefore had no idea what wonders upon which I had stumbled. We just happened to spy this walk-up window on a leisurely, springy Friday afternoon after lunch next door at the Brown Bag. I almost always have a yen for ice cream, but a single glance at the menu board (see photo) hooked me. Bourbon butter pecan? Be still my throbbing heart. We walked right up to the window, and...the stuff was so good that I had to return ASAP since our guest house was only a few blocks away. 24 hours later, on a busy German Village yardsale Saturday, I waited in line fifteen minutes. To make a long, rapturous story short and palatable to the average reader, I tried four ice creams the first day and four the second day. Dark chocolate and bourbon butter pecan in the same cup is a little dish of heaven. The meyer lemon and blueberry was the best of all of them, at least in sunny mid-May. The riesling poached pear was a very strong second and paired langorously with strawberry buttermilk on a warm spring day. The Rockmill ale with apricots was the most unexpectedly perfect pairing: beer and apricots match up shockingly well. The people in line with me on Saturday were very surprised and excited to see a Jeni's in German Village. I don't know who Jeni is, but apparently her fans are legion. I can see, or rather taste, why--brilliantly executed classics as well as unique flavors which manage to be charmingly inventive but not gratuitously weird. Or, put more succinctly, some of the best ice cream that I've ever had (and you too, I bet).

I've been to plenty of Jeni's locations, but this one is the cutest I have ever seen. With a little walk up window and about 6-7 flavors to choose from, located across from Schiller Park, this tiny little Jeni's offers everything you need on beautiful spring day (or summer, or fall). I also think this location has slightly bigger scoops, which also deems it my favorite Jeni's spot.

Jeni's is a boutique creamery. They do a few flavors and they make them unique. I thought they did a great job bringing out the flavors of their ingredients. It's also nice that they bake their own waffle cones, bowls, and wedges. Fresh and tasty! The main downside is the price. You do get to pick half scoops and assemble your own dish (including 4+, which they don't list as an option), and the size of each scoop is pretty darn decent... you know what? I can't demote a whole star just for price when you get this quality. The dark chocolate is the 2nd best I've had behind Christina's, which is indeed praise. The blueberry tasted like blueberry and the snozzberry tasted like... well, you'll have to find out. Find this location around the corner in a tiny window with no seating. It's odd, but as long as you know you're getting this to go, again, not deducting the star, because it's so much better than not having a Jeni's here.

Wow.. The Yelp Peeps in Columbus weren't lying when they said that Jeni's is a must eat!! OMG! probably some of the best ice cream that this fat boy has ever eaten! I was blown away at how rich and tasty their ice cream was. I'm pretty adventurous with food flavors but I have to admit that I am a gigantic wuss when it comes to exotic ice cream so I decided to take the safe road and opted for the dark chocolate and roasted strawberry. It was love at first bite. I would've loved to try the other flavors but just didn't have the room in my belly to do so. Tips for cross country foodie trekkers: this is the closest Jeni's location to Thurman's

Ahhh, NOSTALGIA…read more Everyone's favourite ice-cream....well, definitely not everyone but for a number of people in Columbus or Cincinnati, Ohio. Graeter's Ice-Cream was started in Cincinnati but I grew up going to Graeter's in Columbus, Ohio. I always enjoy coming back to Graeter's whenever I visit Columbus because there isn't one close by to where I live in Cleveland. ICE-CREAMS AND MALTS -- I love getting the toffee chip ice-cream which is my favourite one to get. I also love getting their Malt drinks which is ice-cream melted down with milk (I believe milk). Everything is fresh and homemade or made in-house. You can get ice-cream on a cone or in a cup. You can also buy one of their to-go ice-cream containers. TIP -- Get their loyalty card. I think after 10 punches you get a free ice-cream. TIP 2 -- Big grocery stores now sell Graeter's Ice-Cream pints (small containers) in the freezer aisle. This location in Bexley is my go-to location because I've come here for years and customer service is always friendly and attentive. Now that I've written this review, I want some Graeter's Ice-Cream.
