I had a dental emergency, the companies page says they welcome emergencies, so I drove all the way to south Chandler and explained my situation to the receptionist and she said she would have to speak to the dentist first, it didn't feel welcoming, but she did eventually get approval for me to be seen by Shawn, Shawn comes in takes a quick look and I explained what I wanted done, he had done this procedure for me once before, the assistants proceeded to do x rays, I stated I didn't want/need x rays, their exact words were, well we're in the middle and they proceeded to do unnecessary x rays at my expense, mind you I asked just to close up the missing piece temporarily, because it was rubbing on my tongue making me uncomfortable, Shawn had done this on one of my other teeth successfully, creates a smooth surface temporarily and keeps food particles and all other matter from entering the tooth. Shawn proceeded to grind away what I assume was good tooth surface, because I was in a lot of pain from him grinding on or near the nerves of the tooth, now it's sensitive to temperature, thanks Shawn, then after grinding away, he said you'll need a crown, well no kidding, we all know crowns cost over $1000 and don't last, Worst part I was overcharged again and the receptionist stated my bill for almost $250 included a courtesy discount, well that's nice, he spends about one minute doing a procedure I didn't ask for, did x rays I didn't ask for or need, overcharged me, then discounted the bill to a level that was still way too high for services rendered. It's all about the money, if they have to stick it to you, they will. I refuse to return to either of his practices, there's plenty of good dentists out there with integrity and professionalism.

They later insisted on taking their own x-rays, assuring me they would be complimentary. Unfortunately, I was billed because Riggs submitted their insurance claim before a previous claim and they refused to help resolve the issue. The experience didn't stop there. The dentist claimed I had eight cavities--more than I've ever had in my life--and said my child had one. I got a second opinion, and neither of us had any cavities. What Riggs identified as cavities were actually surface stains. Their diagnosis was based on AI, but it was completely inaccurate. Overall, this was a terrible experience: misleading billing practices, questionable diagnoses, and zero accountability. Save your time and money--choose a reputable dental office instead.
