Newly to Boise, I googled best salons in the area. I tried a different one nearby, was a cute place…read morebut the stylist did not listen to my very specific style and request. When booking with Graeber they have a very intensive online "questionnaire" to determine what stylist would be best suited for your needs. I was paired with Raul. He listened to me, viewed all of my photos and gave me feedback on my style and photos and we were in agreement on the best path forward. The receptionist also was very welcoming, offered me coffee and gave me a tour. They carry Oribe and Aveda products which I use so that also is great. In addition to cuts/styles they have extensive skin care routines/facials. The services and products are not inexpensive but if you know what you want this is where you can get it. There was a glitch with their online booking system in which it made it appear that no openings were available, thankfully they reached out by phone and I was able to get in. I explained about the issue booking and they said they would address that, so if you don't find a slot online I suggest you call. Also I found easy on street parking so that was definitely a plus. I'd post pictures of my cut but I take terrible selfies, but everyone at work has commented how nice it looks. Thank you, I'll be back.

Very easy to talk to, friendly, approachable, and responds fairly quickly despite having such a full work load! DO NOT GO TO JAMIE PEPPER…read more I agreed to let Jamie Pepper do my extensions and color. I would have to go back a lot to have her fix extension placement, which I hadn't had to do with prior stylists, but she got me right in and fixed any issues as they came up. She admitted she wasn't an expert on extensions and was still learning, there were times the weft would show. I asked her if we could lighten me up for summer. She said she felt I would be happier if she bleached my entire head and went full blond. I was very surprised at that suggestion and I asked if it would be a healthy move? I came in with damaged hair so we only did highlights. She claimed it would be a "gentle bleaching treatment." Different from the typical process. That is would be just as cost effective, I would spend less time in the chair and that it wouldn't be damaging. I agreed to trust her. That meant I had to buy all new hair. The hair costed $800 and she charged me $1500 for install and color. Then put too many rows in on freshly bleached hair, weighing it down and causing breakage-excessive shed. We agreed that was too much and needed to do only do 2 rows not 4. She does her extension move up appointments/root color (as needed) every 5 weeks. Every else is doing move ups between 3-8 months. Jamie rationed that her prices were cheaper so that its better to come in more frequently. I came in no more than a month and a week later for the move up and she took them all out and colored my hair chemically with a toner? Why? I said I liked the platinum a lot, more than the warmer tones. She put a toner on everything and lost the platinum. I didn't ask her to make those changes, I never asked for the all over blonde in the first place. I asked "what happened to the platinum?" She admitted the toner didn't do what she wanted so she wanted to tone it again. More chemicals? That made it worse and now my new stylist is making me wait to fix it, she said it is too damaged. What is worse is how she scammed me. She actually charged me $500 to ruin the color and move up JUST 2 rows. Made zero sense, I was in the chair the entire day. At least 6 hours. This was only supposed to be a quick move up. All prior move up appointments had been $50-$150 -if we colored the roots it was in the $150 range. I talked to the owner of the salon. She said she personally doesn't work the way and that she would not have taken that approach, but that Jamie is an independent contractor. If you cross reference my google review, you'll see my pictures. The first picture is of me right after she did the full install and bleaching. The second picture is after she toned it at the 5 week move up appointment. You can see the color difference between the real hair and the extensions. Jamie was erroneously telling me to use clarifying shampoo every few washes and it has been stripping the color out of the extensions, making them turn a weird, warm strawberry blond. Artists that I consulted with said that is damaging advise, why keep stripping the color and drying it out? It only needs clarifying shampoo as needed when it feels weighted down. The actual weft is coming out in the 3rd picture. What a scam.

Crimson Mist Hair Salon is a hair EXPERIENCE, not just another "cut and color." If you are looking…read morefor one of the top hair professionals in Idaho, this is the place. Shohreh owns and operates this very elegant home salon and makes you feel as though you are a member of her family the minute you walk through the door. This is the first time I have had a true color specialist really look at both my skin tone, along with my natural color hair, and tell me what the best color options are. I am a blond (but a natural brunette) and am so tired of getting that terrible gold/yellow look. I have been to salons in Paris, San Francisco (where I am from)...Los Angeles and New York. I have paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for supposed high-end color jobs, and this is the first time someone has got my color right! It's beautiful, and truly compliments my skin tone (and no gold/yellow!). Shohreh took a tremendous amount of time first consulting with me, then carefully doing my color with the finest color products on the market (she uses Goldwell products, and if you're not familiar with that line, it is hands down the best on the market). She also really spent time analyzing the shape of my face to determine what the most flattering cut would be (I knew I wanted to go shorter, but that can be really scary if you go too short and you end up looking like a boy!). Shohreh determined a cut just below my chin would work best for my face and features, and she gave me a very modern cut you'd expect to only get at a top New York salon. Very hip and cool looking, just fantastic! I also determine a "great cut" by how well it behaves after my first wash and blow out at home. Does it fall into place and look fabulous with just "me" at the helm? The answer is absolutely YES! My hair looked fantastic straight out of the shower with a simple blow dry the next day....just gorgeous! And if all this isn't enough....Shohreh and her wonderful husband fed me the most amazing delights the entire time I was there. I thought I was in a gourmet deli! Her husband is from Turkey, and I was indulged with sweet treats and hors d'ouvres from his native homeland.... and delicious hot tea...and then some AMAZING wine from the Napa valley to boot! The entire experience felt more like I was having a delightful time visiting good friends, than having my hair done. We had a wonderful time; great conversation, wonderful eats and drink....and I walked out of the salon happy, pampered, and looking quite fabulous. I was talking to my sister in Connecticut today about my incredible "hair experience" at Crimson Mist....and she nearly fainted when I told her what I spent for all of that fabulous pampering. She said she would pay at least three to four times as much on the East Coast for the royal treatment I received. I have no doubt. But truly, I don't think you can put a price on the incredible graciousness, hospitality and phenomenal expertise you will find awaiting you at Crimson Mist. I recommend this to all of you "yelpers" here in Boise. I've hit most of the fancy downtown salons and stylists....trust me, they don't hold a candle to Shorheh. Do yourself a favor and book your next appointment here. You will have an incredible hair experience, and most definitely come out with the best color and cut you've probably ever had!

Ok. Where to begin. When I called to schedule the appointment the lady hung up on me twice because…read moreshe thought I was pranking her. I had to explain to her that I indeed have an out of state number. I then had to explain to her my job scenario and living situation and she was very rude to me from the start. I almost decided to forget it and call someone else. I needed extensions and only had a small window to get them done because I was only passing through town. She proceeded to tell me to come into a consult which would take an hour then we could schedule another time to get them installed a week or two later. I told her I had my own hair. She said shed put them in then. She said she had lots of experience doing micro bead. She continued to be very rude to me. But I ignored it due to my needs. The day comes to go into my appointment which she said she could do in one sitting over the phone when I scheduled it a month prior since I had my own hair. (Which she followed up a week before my appointment again to check if I was pranking her, at least that was her attitude toward me) I rolled in to the address she gave me and it was a house. I was surprised but okay so far. I went into her "salon" which was a small bedroom with a vanity. Barely room to walk around in it. The closet door was wide open and showing towels and low end styling products. I gave her my hair extensions and she wanted to know how I found them since I didnt have a license. I was surprised to see how little she knew about what's accessible and used in modern society. She made a big deal about it. She looked over my hair and said she still was only gonna do some of my hair that day even though the arrangements were different a month before that when I made the appointment. I told her I didnt have time to split my session because I was leaving the day after the next and had a bunch of other things to do. So she called her friend to see if she would come and help her and her friend declined. So I had to come in the next day. The micro bead she put in my hair (she only had around 50) were from the 80s or 90s. Very terrible quality. She crimped them into my hair with a resin to glue them in along with it. I went home akward looking. She also didnt have the tools so I had to bring my own that I picked up from Sally's and more micro beads and a crimper. When I got there the next day she had her friend there who was helping her out. She was a student, of what I dont know. But she didnt have a hairdresser license. She was teaching her how to put in extensions and I could tell the salon lady was winging it because I've had extensions before, and she was doing it very akward and the sections were not correct. For example, she put them.too close to my hair line and wasnt sectioning my hair in the right way.) She was charging me 50 dollars an hour for this. I told her how i wanted them in my hair so i could part my hair accordingly and she blantantly said, you've never had extensions before! I was speechless. While she was blending them into my head (she only put in half a head. 2 bundles) she said my hair was too thick and she lifted sections of my hair up and cut my hair at the base of my scalp! I was afraid of how it would grow back. Her friend looked frustrated and left shortly after. I then tried to tell her the difference between my hair the extensions was too drastic and I needed my extensions to be shorter to feel comfortable with the way it looked. She said it looked good and she said she didnt want to take off any length. So she kept thinking my normal hair. And straightening my hair to blend the extensions. (I have black 1b wavy hair and so was my extensions) I left there feeling really disappointed. I spent a hunch of money and supplied her with the tools to do my hair. Also a student was helping her. And I still was way over charged. The next 3 days, and I kid you not close to half of them had slipped out of my head. In gobs. The proceeding week they were pulling chunks of my hair out. I had to cut the extensions shoulder length (they were 20 inch virgin Remy human hair) because she only out in half my head and blended it terribly and they were falling out. So. No. This place lies about their experience. Way over charges. Its ghetto in a bad way. They're rude. She does your hair in a small bedroom and condescend you passive aggressively the whole time. She is the kind of lady that over charges her friends when she does their hair and that's her only demographic. The only reason she says shes does extensions is to get a market. I would never go there. It's terrible, terrible. *Also..I looked at her salon's before and after pictures and those pics aren't real. They're stolen pictures. There is no spot in her bedroom salon that is all white. Her and her husband live in that house and they're 55+. They dont have a white room to photograph before and after pics.
