Cute little salon in downtown for my haircuts! I come here pretty often to get my basic cuts and it's pretty consistent with the results. Hannah is especially friendly and takes good care of my short hair! Only downside is that you have to do street or garage parking. One star because there is no option for zero. it will take me a year to get back to where I was before coming in today. the place was unorganized and cluttered with layers of hair all over the ground. I had an appointment time scheduled yet I waited 20 minutes anyway so what's the point of the online scheduling. The stylist was acting jittery like they were on something illegal. Ran like a tweaked through my medium-long men's haircut and the stylist blew it. I'm going to have to find another salon to repair the damage. I had a shampoo wash first so my hair was wet, once it dried.. OMG! the final result looks like I cut my own hair in a mirror. chopped up to pieces . Never ever going back and will demand a refund + they pay for an actual salon to step in for damage control. read more

Raul was amazing. My cut is absolute perfection. He took his time and walked me through how he was cutting and why he was doing it that way. He told me all about proper hair care regimen and products, and did so in a way that felt like genuine education and not at all a sales pitch. I wear hearing aides and he was very respectful of that. He even gave me cotton balls after my wash to dry my inner ear before putting my hearing aides back in. Seriously, I can't say enough good about him and his service. I went to Raul to have a height and cut. I went to him before In January and he did an amazing job! See first photo below. But this time he totally destroyed my hair. He did t highlight the sides of my head near my temple so I went back to have him correct it but instead he bleached the entire front of my hair and under processed it. It was yellow with brown blotches. (See pictures below). He didn't even comb out my hair and just put product in it to curl which was a disaster. I could not get out of the salon fast enough. He did give me my money back but it has cost me now $290 to repair the damage and I'm now a dark blond. (Picture below). PLEASE DO NOT GO TO RAUL FOR HIGHLIGHTS! You will be gambling with your hair BTW - In total I was in his chair for 7 hours. read more

I have recently moved to Boise and was looking for someone who is good with cutting women's short hair, and I was trying to transition to gray from my medium brown hair. My hair is very thick and coarse and I was hoping I would find someone who is good at working with all of that. I saw some good reviews for Raul and decided to give him a try. I used to love this place and recommended it to everyone I knew until I got a terrible haircut. But it wasn't the haircut that made me give them this bad review. I voiced my concerns to them and not once did they own up to their mistake. The real kicker: they refused to give me a refund based on a "7 day refund policy" (which no one told me about) even though I called to voice my concerns, and sent them pictures of my hair, well within a week after my haircut. There's a lot more to the story including interactions with management that were incredibly rude. My advice: go somewhere else unless you're looking to get a $70 mullet. read more

Raul Zamarripa is a miracle worker! I arrived at his salon with severely damaged hair--a result of a previous stylist's mishandling of bleach and color. Amazing. My 9 year old decided to finally let us cut her hair. She has a TON of thick unruly hair. I was able to get in with only an hours notice. Not only did Emily listen to our wants and needs..she completely detangled my girls hair before giving her the cut she wanted. My daughter was super nervous as she was pretty attached to her locks. The Shaw's and the majority of the stylists are great. Their previous "manager" Sabre, however, apparently has anger issues. She got frustrated with me during my last visit there as I wanted to discuss some different options for my cut. She began yanking on the the back of my hair, literally causing pain and tearing the hair out of my head, she then randomly cut a large chunk off one side of my hair. I was literally in tears when I left and naturally had to go pay someone else $100 to fix the hair. Besides obvious issues with Sabre, Ren was there and did nothing to stop nor remedy the situation. I was in shock at the entire situation and of course, will never set foot in the salon again. read more

I was in Boise for work, and hadn't had time to get my hair done before I left. Let's just say I was in desperate need of a color touch up. My schedule after wasn't looking any better and I had some spare time while in Boise... so I figured what the heck, I might as well try this place out. They happened to have an opening exactly when i needed, so it seemed meant to be. I am sooooo glad for that! I was scheduled with Sydney, and she is fantastic! She really listened to what I wanted, then went forth and made it happen. She's very friendly, so even though I was there for nearly 3 hours, it was a good time. The cut is great. I had fairly short hair already, so kind of hard to make that any different, but she managed to and I love the way it came out. Very versatile cut that I can wear a couple of different ways. Color is also awesome. She did some purple streaks that came out beautiful. I had asked to be a little conservative with the purple, and now I wish I hadn't... loving it and wishing there was more! But again, she really listened to what I wanted and didn't go crazy. So now I'm back home and getting lots of compliments on my new hair. Super happy I took a chance on this place. I was in town last week to tour the college with my son, and I found myself with a couple of free hours to myself Saturday morning. I have desperately been needing a haircut but salons in my state have been closed due to Covid for months. I called The Electric Chair and luckily, Lindsay was able to fit me in. All safety precautions were in place (we all wore masks), and everyone was spaced safely apart. Lindsay gave me a great cut, and whatever botanical product she used on my hair smelled amazing - the scent lasted well into the next day. The place has a great vibe, hip but not pretentious, with an ideal location downtown (easy garage parking). Raul cuts my hair, he's one of the best in the business and takes his craft seriously. I've been a patron for yrs but Nate doesn't come in anymore, so I got someone else (Ren). I told him I don't like the blunt cut look, would he undercut it so the ends curl under. Instead I got 2 drastically different blunt cut layers. I couldn't tell while I was in the salon and ACTUALLY TIPPED for this expensive chop job.
