Ok updating my review because I want to always continue to provide honest feedback. So my lashes lasted 3 weeks with minimal shedding which was great and of course has saved me a ton of time in the morning when getting ready for work. Only thing that sucked was that my eyes would always burn if I got them wet or if I feared up for any reason (usually this would happen at home and not out in public where I would have to run and go flush my eye) but yea lashes are great. My groupon ended so I was finessed into getting their package deal $200 for 4 visits in which I have them $100 on my refill visit Saturday. I really didn't want to invest even $100 on my lashes when I was going back for a refill from the groupon but it was cool that they let me break the payment up. Stay away! My friend and I arrived for a relaxing afternoon and left anxious and somewhat traumatized after witnessing a fight between two employees! We had purchased a groupon, arrived early, and were asked to wait in the lobby. A woman called us to a counter in the lobby. She placed a magnifier on each of our faces that displayed an up-close image of our facial skin to the lobby. She then announced - loudly and to all within earshot - that we had oily skin and blackheads. We were then asked to wait again. About 10 minutes later, the same woman emerged from a back room and, without acknowledging us, began to argue in a foreign language with an employee at the front desk. There was also a seven year old boy in the lobby who told us this was his parents. I believe they may have been the owners, but I am not sure. As their argument continued and escalated, the boy sunk into a corner of the lobby. After about 5 minutes, my friend and I announced that we would wait outside the store. The woman barely acknowledged us, scowled at us, in fact. She made no effort to stop the argument, apologize, or convince us to stay. Shortly after we stepped outside, my friend say the woman slap the man as the argument continued to escalate! They then left through a back door and continued to argue outside (no physical involvement witnessed). We waited a few minutes longer (just to tell her that we were not going to stay and to try to get a refund), but they remained outside arguing, refusing to come in even when we asked the little boy to let his mother know we wanted to talk with her. By this time, it was 30 minutes past our appointment time and no one in the spa (there were several other employees there besides the arguing couple) had come to acknowledge the situation, apologize or even check-in. We had to ask the little boy to find a staff person. Then, four women emerged from the back. Still, none apologized or even acknowledged the horrible situation. We told the staff we were highly uncomfortable and were going to leave, that the behavior and service were totally unacceptable, that it was unfair to customers and the little boy. I asked for a refund. The staff looked puzzled and simply offered to re-schedule! Still no acknowledgement that this horrible fight had ever happened, let alone any attempt to make up for it. They told me I had to contact groupon for a refund. This whole situation was the worst service experience I have ever had. Stay far away from this place!!! read more

To start- my review may be a little biased due to the fact that I have a membership to hand and stone spa, but I am always open to a better, more relaxing experience, which this was far from it. I bought the couple's massage and facial off of Groupon for my fiance and I. We arrive and they put us in this tiny room with two beds. The beds were rock hard and instead of sheets or a blanket to cover they give you a towel. My fiance and I undress and are waiting, 5mins, 10mins, finally my fiance yells "hello" and the two ladies walked in. The massage was also not the best. There is no zero star, so I selected one star. They are only there to take money. they do not care about their client or the services offered. They, also, violate laws of what is allowed, they should not put eye .drops in a client's eye. They did this to me without permission. They, also, charged me $7 tax for my Livingsocial! They took many photos without my permission. All items and pricing on signs only in Asian, no English. Employees spoke and understood limited English. I had about 10 lashes left (from a different salon); first thing they said to me was $20 for removal. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT. Prior to starting the application(I was lying on the table) I was told they have either hard lashes or upgrade to mink for $50. Their lashes were of the lowest quality. I've had my lashes done at least 5 times from different establishments; I have never seen such fake, poor quality. I did not want to invest more money or give in to the bait & switch. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT. Lashes were not applied correctly (see Morgan Q.'s review, 7/16/2017). I noticed this before I left. Told lady at desk . who insisted I make an appointment for 2 week touch up (included in Livingsocial ) told me to have a seat, gave me water and ignored me as she spoke with a group of her girls. ???!!! Today I did microblading as per the groupon deal, I upgraded to 3D. Not sure if it was worth it but I'll let you guys know after a few weeks. The procedure overall was bearable, minimal pain! If you feel sensitive to the pain, they can always put extra numbing cream. Staff was very friendly but persistent with additional upgrades ( and aftercare eyebrow serum), this is pretty consistent with most places I've been to that offer Groupon deals because you are paying for basic services. Other than that, You pay for taxes on top of the Groupon deal. Ask for the envelope to put tip in, they really take their time and have you check your eyebrows constantly if you like how the progress is going. I tried the spa because of a Groupon. While the spa itself is clean and the massage was acceptable, some of the business practices of Jennifer Day Spa seem SHADY. I was undressed and on the table when the massage therapist walks in and starts very lightly touching my back. She explained that this light touch is considered a Swedish massage (it was no Swedish massage) which is covered by the Groupon. But if I want a deep tissue than I'd have to pay an additional $20. So I ponied up the extra money to have a decent massage. Then when I paid, they charged tax for the Groupon. I've used several Groupons for massages and don't remember ever paying the spa tax on the coupon. Jennifer Day Spa is frequently offering cheap Groupons, but I would avoid this "bargain". read more

I purchased an Amazon Deal for a 1-hour organic facial for $34. I bought it for my mom as a nice little birthday treat. I even told them when I booked that it was for my mom's birthday. My mom arrived a few minutes early ready for her pampering but was told that the last customer was running late and so she would have to wait. She waited...and waited... and waited AN HOUR. They finally got her in an hour after her scheduled appointment time, but by then, she realized it would ruin all of the rest of her bday plans if she got her facial then. So she left. The manager/staff didn't offer anything to make up for the terrible scheduling. While I can't speak on the quality of the facials since my mom didn't get one, they clearly do not keep their appointment times. Don't go there unless you have time to wait...and wait... and wait. This business does not value your time (whether or not it's your birthday!). Also, a word to the business: if a customer shows up late, reschedule them or shorten their facial like other businesses do. It's not good business practice (or fair) to make a timely customer wait/cancel because another customer couldn't be there on time. read more

I went to the Bernardsville location and it was the worst experience at a massage place EVER. I bought a Groupon for a massage and a facial for two people and the entire time during the massage and facial they tried to upsell which was super annoying when I'm trying to relax. The massage even more so because they tried to sell "medium" and "deep tissue" pressure during the massage. I've had many massages in my time and the "deep tissue" she tried to upsell was more like the normal pressure I receive from places like Stress Solutions Spa or Oasis Day Spa. In fact it really just felt like she was wiping my back, not really rubbing it at all. Every time I said I didn't want anything extra, she would say something to the other massage therapist. I just thought it was rude and inappropriate. Went in for an eyelash extension. The technician glued the extensions to my top eyelids. The extensions started to fall off after 2 days. After 2 weeks, all the extensions fell off... along WITH my own lashes. My eyelids are bald, with some most lashes broken and missing. I spoke with the owner twice. I went to this spa on Easter Sunday. They do not honor group on. The manager said that the facial that I choose cost $90. But he would only charge me $50. The technician commenced the procedure. I wish there was an option for ZERO stars. This establishment offers GROUPON deals along with other package offers. I have been to this day spa before for massages and a friend of mine bought me a GROUPON for eye lash extensions. The Groupon said it was for a FULL set of MINK lashes. I have gotten eyelash extension done at other establishments and my extensions lasted up to 4 weeks and the extensions felt like real hair. At Jennifer's Day spa, the extensions felt like plastic and the glue burned my eyes. The service was rushed and the lashes barely lasted 2 weeks. I decided to come back attempt the micro blading service because my sister bought me a Groupon for that service as well. I got to my appointment at 3:45PM (the appointment was for 4PM with JENNIFER, the owner) She was running so late that the staff pressured me into getting a full set of eyelash extensions even after i explained to them i did not want them. They charged me $145 for a full set and 1 hour later Jennifer arrived to do my micro blading. Besides the fact that she was me EXTREMELY unprofessional by showing up 1 hour late, they charged me an addition $100 for "3D" micro blading because the Groupon was for "micro blading" but WAS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE that there was a difference (and just an FYI now that i am a certified micro blade technician- there is NO DIFFERENCE from why they were trying to up charge me on) back to the eye lash extensions.. 2 days later my WHOLE right eye worth of eye lash extensions fell out of my eye (i never rubbed my eyes, never got them wet and laid on my back when i slept) I went back to the establishment 2 days after the service was performed and there was a male behind the desk and i explained that i am a busy hair dresser who works 3 jobs and go to school full time and it is unacceptable that my lashes did not even last 2 days when i have gotten them done before and they lasted longer. Because of my busy schedule i could not come back to get them fixed until a week later and i was already inconvenienced by having to come in and show them what happened. Fast forward to the following week for my appointment to redo my lashes. As i explained the situation to JENNIFER, the owner, she automatically started yelling at me and saying all i wanted was services for free and we kept going back and forth because REMINDER: if she as on time for my micro blading appointment i would have never spent the $145 for lash extensions. The staff here is extremely AGGRESSIVE and bully you into spending more money then you want. I ended up hysterically crying because JENNIFER, the owner was pointing her finger at me explaining that i am a typical American always wanting "shit" for free ... i ended up paying $50 because as she explained a full set takes 2 hours (** mind you the full set i got previously that only lasted 2 days only took the girl 1 hour of a rush job to do) clearly i was scammed. After getting the $50 redo, her staff member tried to apologize for JENNIFER, the owner, but JENNIFER was nowhere to be found. The fact that the owner of this establishment was screaming at me and telling me i am cheat was disgusting. I still have her spa money for something i should have gotten redone for free because i am a hairdresser and when a service i provide does not meet the expectations of a client, i am polite and try to work with my client to get to the desired outcome. She was RUDE, DISGUSTING and i never went back for my micro blading touch up because i would not want that woman ear my face with a blade after the way she reacted to my concern with my service. I have been to a wide variety of salons to have my lashes done; Jennifer does my lashes, she uses silk lashes, does them the exact way that I like them and takes her time doing them. I have dozed off while she works on me. It is a calming environment as she works quite expertly on my lashes. They last for longer than other places would. I drive more than 40 minutes to come to this salon. It is VERY CLEAN, the technicians are sticklers to cleanliness and the comfort of the client. Awful experience, I want a fill in in lashes and was told $80 I agreed, and on date and time they told me to come in I was there, the lady drop part of the black super glue on my forehead, upon trying to scrub and exfoliate my skin over 20 minutes to remove the glue, she burned my skin, I have marks on my forehead. This was the worst place I've ever been to. They took advantage of my mother. I had advised them not to do any extra or special treatments for her, just the normal facial with no upgrades. Unethical and rude. I purchased a $105 couples' massage for me and a friend on groupon. We scheduled our massage, then had to reschedule. We were assured that even though the groupon would be expired by that point, they'd honor it. But then they also said they needed to "hold" the groupon price on my friend's credit card. When we got there, it turns out, they charged my friend the full cost of the massage I already paid for. When I pointed this out, the owner began screaming "Expired! Expired!" and pointing at my phone. He tried to grab it out of my hand, all the while screaming "Expired! Expired!" No matter how we tried to explain it, he kept screaming over us. It was quite honestly bizzare, and if two other (horrified) customers hadn't been in there, I wouldn't have felt safe. After arguing with him for 15 minutes, he finally agreed to refund my friend's credit card charge, though there was nothing I could do about my "Expired! Expired!" groupon. We left without getting massages. The place is seedy looking on the outside and filthy dirty on the inside, with junk piled all over reception and one torn up couch to sit on. I enjoyed it very much the facial (2nd time having one) was VERY painful but my skin feels fabulous afterwards. I was nervous reading the reviews prior about the up selling, but it really wasn't bad. She has be to have my eye brows waxed once while we were doing the facial and then tried to sell my a serum since my skin was VERY DRY. I declined once and that was fine. My husband loveddd his massage and facial mine was a little to painful for me but that was just being I didn't tell the lady to lower the pressure. This was my first time at the Spa and also my first microblading. I arrived a little early and had no wait whatsoever. Jennifer is a true artist! I love my new eyebrows! I went from thin and unmatched to beautifully created brows that make me look a decade younger! They were all so friendly too. Never pushy. First she wanted to see the price paid for the Groupon. After my phone was giving difficulty and i showed her she then allowed people that came in after me to get their services rendered. Then stated that they were only getting facials and that we would just have to wait when i clearly heard the female state she was waiting for a massage. This is for Jennifer Day Spa in Greenbrook. My friend purchased a Groupon deal that included a couple's massage and facials. 50 minutes each. Our massage "therapists'" names were: Alice and Ivy. My friend and I go to massages to relax. We enjoy a nice, quiet environment, with little to no noise. Massage: The minute the massage girls came in, they were chatting away, not whispering, just having a full on conversation. After a few minutes they stopped talking and continued with massages. They did not bother to ask either of us what was hurting or in need of massage. They just went for it. My girl, Ivy, was very rough and not very attentive. At some point, both Ivy and Alice started giggling. They stopped after a little bit, and then burst out laughing, out of no where. Ivy bended over me and was laughing over, on top of me. This was very upsetting, as they were whispering to each other in another language, and this made us feel that we were being made fun of. I got up and expressed my displeasure with their un-professionalism. They apologized and stopped laughing. The massage continued. It lasted 50 minutes. They kept asking if we were best friends or sisters. I got the feeling that they thought were a couple and that they felt uncomfortable with that. So, I would say they left me feeling like they had homophobic issues. I would say the massage was ok. Not good, not bad. I don't think Ivy is a licensed massage therapist. Facials: I expressed to Ivy that I had sensitive skin, and she proceeded to try to sell me additional products and treatments that would have cost me over $100. I declined and asked her to just continue with what was included in the already-purchased facial. She continued to try to sell me other treatments and sell me on their day's special for Groupon customers. I continuously declined until she stopped. I felt more stressed through this process than what I felt before going in. My friend tipped her girl, Alice, $20 and I left $10 for Ivy. I believe she deserved $0. Then during my facial, she said my eyebrows were too short (whatever that means) and she wanted to shape my brows for an extra charge...$20.00, also tried to sell me face cream, a $30.00 undereye treatment for dark circles and kept saying my skin had some wrinkles...really??? I am in my 60's so "some wrinkles" are fine with me. I think I have pretty good skin for my age, so I was a little insulted by all the criticism during my treatment. Location is great. Your kids can enjoy an escapee room while you and your friends enjoy a massage. I got a couples massage with my girlfriend at their Green Brook location. It was clean looking at first glance and the man who called me to set up the appointment remembered me so it was inviting. They don't have the usual forms to fill out before you are seen; so make sure you tell them what kind of massage you are looking for. Upon entering the room, we noticed it was very small. There was barely enough room for both of the women to do their jobs without bumping into one another. They were talking to one another through the entire massage making it difficult to relax. They made us feel a little better once they Included us in the conversation...for like a second. After the massage was over it was time for the hour long facial with a continual massage of the upper body. Upon one second of looking at my partners face they said she needed an extra procedure for extra money. Which if you read any of the reviews they will tell you they are pushy about extra services. Once they started the extractions they proceeded to insult my face as much as they felt. They kept showing every blackhead they removed. If I didn't already know I had bad skin I would have been hella insecure. They declined to finish my upper body massage because they spent so much time on my face. After it was all said and done they asked me for extra tip because they felt they worked hard on my face. Haha. I obliged. Overall they kill the vibe of coming to get a relaxing massage and facial and replace it with criticism and talking. I'd rather pay the extra money to go to massage envy and be treated respectfully. First, I would have preferred leaving zero stars if it was possible. My bf and I had decided to buy the groupon deal for a couples massage and facial. First, we received the facials with my girl telling me throughout the entire facial how awful my skin is and that my eyebrows are too thin and that they have products and treatments to fix all of that. I kept telling her over and over that at this point I do not want to make any additional purchases. My bf's girl told him that he had good skin and when she finished she took a mirror to show him his face but instead held the mirror so that he can see her. Then they left us to relax for 15 minutes. Upon return, they started with the "deep tissue massage". First, they did the front with a towel covering our eyes. The towel that was supposed to cover our body kept on sliding further down than what it was supposed to as it was just a small towel and when they had moved to the leg segment my bf's girl started to moan and groan, which I still don't understand what the point of that was. Then we turned over and my girl put the towel over my buttocks but then kept on pushing my underwear along with towel all the way down before finally climbing onto our backs for the last segment of our my massage. My bf told me afterwards that his girl also kept on straddling him throughout the massage. Thankfully there was no more upselling throughout this portion but constant chatter in chinese. Unfortunaltey, I suffered from severe headaches for the following 2 days and my temples were sore to the touch from the facial I had received. My skin broke out as well. I will not ever return to Jennifer Day Spa at any location as it made me feel awful about myself and did not help with my backache at all. I bought a groupon for the Edison location. However the phone number was for the Greenbrook location. This was not communicated and I went to the Edison location. When I got there, they were not helpful to rectify the situation or reschedule. I was very displeased with my experience and do not recommend this to anyone. read more
