Even with newer beauty supply stores opening, this is the only Jenny's Beauty Supply I wholeheartedly recommend. They have been my trusted source for everything I need--hair care, skincare, body care, nails, jewelry, hats, scarves, clothing, beauty accessories, and so much more. What truly makes this location special is the people. John, Jenna, and their amazing staff consistently provide exceptional customer service. From the moment you walk through the door, you're welcomed with warm smiles, kindness, professionalism, patience, genuine care--and a wonderful sense of humor! I was in Jenny's Beauty Supply on 3/14/2026 and finding a black beauty supply store is hard compared to Chicago where I'm from. While in there I was taken aback when the Asian owner yelled at an older customer who was smelling some product she wanted to buy. He was screaming at her to close the product and if she want to buy buy. I have NEVER heard anyone speak to someone like that, let alone an older woman who was simply smelling the product to see how it smells (I know I do). Because I was already annoyed because it took me 4 stores to find rubbers bands I didn't say anything to the lady but as a customer I dropped my items and walked out because I will NEVER PATRONIZEA BUSINESS AND SPEND MY MONEY WHERE ITS NOT APPRECIATED. That's what I wanted to tell the woman as she was trying to explain to the owner that she was going to purchase it but simply wanted to smell it but he kept yelling at her nonetheless. I wish she had done what I did and walked out. I'm sharing this experience because these people get rich off the dollars of black people and have absolutely no respect for us as people. So I am on a natural hair journey of sorts...eliminating what no longer serves me as well as all of the things we as women put in our hair. Relaxers, coloring, over processing...women with ethnic hair deal with a lot and go through a lot. Over the years I've learned what does and does not work for my tresses. My hair is fairly easy to manage but it is very curly and often times it is a chore to detangle. What I love about Jenny Beauty Supply is they have literally every type of product imaginable for all spectrums of OUR hair! I love the 'Mixed Chicks' products and lately have been using that on my natural curls. I absolutely love their leave in conditioner. Not only do they have all kinds of hair products they also have fun makeup, lashes, costume jewelry and even all natural coconut/shea butters!! I am a coconut oil freak so I go crazy over that stuff. The prices are so affordable you can go in there and really stock up. Take your time when you go in there. It is a LOT to take in and look at. Stopped in here briefly with my mom as we spotted it after parking on our way into Kroger. Okaaay, I see you, Jenny! They had a large selection for such a small space, and the music was giving me all good vibes. Because it is a tight squeeze up in here I did lose count of how many times I said excuse me and heard excuse me trying to get by other shoppers. Granted: It was the evening of New Year's Eve, so maybe it was just packed out because everyone was prepping last minute for the night's festivities. The store clerk actually said she planned to close at 8 pm, but would extend their hours if customers kept flowing in. Do you, boo. As I browsed, I didn't see a particular style of sew-in hair bundles that I typically go for, so I know not to shop here for that. That was a bummer, but don't let that discourage you because they do have A LOT of hair, products, wigs, accessories, clothing, and jewelry to choose from. I had mixed feelings about even going here but ended up going by accident due to my error of reading the GPS. This store is very cramped and they have some how fit a crap of load stuff in this little space. In the back there were tons of boxes stack up that block your ability to maneuver around the store. I didn't interact much with the employees. I was greeted but kinda did my own thing. My aunt was looking for a wig and tried on a few. She didn't find one that she liked at a reasonable price. I was able to grab some small hair sprays for my hair. I looked all over the store and was able to find something reasonably priced that I thought would work well. When I got them back to the hotel one wouldn't spray. If this was home I would try and return them but since I'm traveling I'm not going to fool around with it. Even though the store is packed to the max I would say its clean and it's well lit. There is front door parking but a guy from a neighboring business came out when I was getting out of my car and it did worry me a bit. He was still outside when I returned from my car so I overlooked it. If I'm back in the area I will probably return. Absolutely love this store! This is my second time coming here for my hair needs and everyone is so nice. I was immediately greeted when I arrived and I asked where a specific kind of hair was and I was lead there. A gentleman noticed my hands were getting full, so he gave me a basket. I had another question, so he showed me where that product was. I did not feel like I was being watched and I left with a big smile on my face. Also, love the selection of products and the fact that they play uplifting Gospel music. It just made me feel happy and relaxed walking around! I will be back! read more

I've shopped here in the past for my daughter and I've never had a bad experience until now. I believe it was a taller lady and male working at the times I was there. They were very sweet and use to give my daughter candy. Today, I've felt extremely racially profiled. My friend was looking for a wig and the short lady was following us around. She also put her hands on my two year old daughter, because she was "fixing" the wigs. My daughter is no angel, but she wasn't being a nuisance. Also , a younger female and male kept bumping into us. This was my go to neighborhood beauty supply store until I entrusted them to help me decide on a wig. Of course I was told that the wig was 100% human Virgin Remy. I went to the store several times to inquire about the one particular wig as I was new to wig buying. I had two different sales associates tell me that the hair was human hair and could be dyed. It could not because I tried to sue it shortly after purchasing. I am left with $200 worth of tangled matted useless wig that I have had for maybe 4 weeks. And of course with most Asian owned beauty supply stores there is a strict no refund policy. There were no suggestions on how to make this transaction fair. I went in here to buy a few items. Being black, I usually don't like going to Asian stores, especially if I feel they don't respect the black community they serve. Walked in, no one said hi. Got a basket and started shopping around. I saw some staff (asian) with a scan gun doing inventory. I asked would they ever get a conditioner of a particular brand they had. They just said no, instead of asking me what I was looking for as a customer and ordering it. I walked away to the next isle, and they started laughing. Umm...what was funny about that? That's when I put the items back I had in my basket, and just left! Refuse to spend money on anyone disrespectful! Suggest you shop online or go to the main Jenny's that at least have more relatable staff & a large variety of items. read more

Love this beauty supply. I get my daughter $1 lip gloss here (my lip gloss is poppin). This store has just about every sheen, moisturizer, gel, or hair pack you need. I frequently stop at this location when I need a change up because it's on the way home. There is a much bigger beauty supply across the street but I prefer Jenny's. 1. They are friendly 2. Somewhat knowledgeable 3. They run sales on different product. The main reason you go to any beauty supply is hair selection and although this store is small for they have a much better selection of hair for crocheting than their competitor across the street. They seem to have lots of hair and know what's best for your application. It's always been a pleasant experience coming here. read more

I was sad to see them move but I will still drive to Irving because they have the best selection and they are always happy to see me! The staff is really nice and greet you with a friendly chorus of hellos as you walk into the store. This location has undergone changes and the friendly women who were always helpful have been replaced with two men and a Hispanic woman who don't even attempt customer service. The most recent time I was there I was looking for a compact mirror and I asked if they had any. One of the men came from behind the counter and showed me the aisle they would be on but said they didn't have them. I continued to browse to try and find something comparable but he literally watched every move I made and pretended that he was stocking the shelves while he stood next to me. It made me so uncomfortable that I left. A few weeks prior to that I asked for a hair product that they keep behind the counter and the same guy immediately said no they don't have it without even looking. If you're unfortunate enough to have the female cashier when you check out be prepared to wait while she talks on her phone and ignores you. She scans one item then stops while she chats with whoever is on her phone scans another and does the same thing. I was the only person in line and still had an unnecessarily long wait just to pay for 3 items. I have been shopping here for years and kept coming back because the women that used to work there were always super friendly and helpful. Even though I could find the same products cheaper at other stores their customer service was so above and beyond that I continued to shop at Jenny's. At one point they told me I was spending too much for a certain product and offered a cheaper alternative. Since I was happy with the product I didn't buy the cheaper version so they would always tell me to pick out something small like a comb, brush or eyeliner for free. It was such a nice gesture to show that they appreciated my business and it was a small part of what made me a loyal customer.
