I have been here three times. Once for stew chicken k believe. The second time, I got a daal puri and today I bought goat roti. It was delicious. Just the right spices and the tamarind sauce was sweet. Their service is pretty fast too. I wish them continued success in their business. Very disappointed. The website says you open at 9am. it's 10:40am, I walked over 40 minutes to get there, just to be told " we just got here, come back in 1 1/2 hours we need to cook." Your website shouldn't say opens at 9am if it's really 12pm. Some people have to travel to get there. :( read more

I gave this place a try even though there were many lukewarm reviews, big mistake! I got the oxtail with rice and peas and chicken roti. The oxtail was flavorless and rice was undercooked. The roti was actually pretty good but the chicken was also flavorless. You better off going to Golden Krust. read more

Absolutely disgusted with this place, these people are no way in shape or form Trinidadian. They do not represent my food and culture. I was biased to even try this place due to the mixed views, turns out everybody was right. The food is tasteless, the potatoes in the roti were cut huge (which no Trini will do) the jerk chicken was sweet. Just honestly a huge disappointment. I recommend shutting down. Have been meaning to go here for months, everytime I get off the subway to go home though, I'm always forgetting to...until this week.....and it was soooooooo amazing. I'm vegetarian and there were so many delicious choices for meee. The owner is super cool, he's from Trinidad but he told me a lot of Hindu people stop by so he always has veggie options. The food is hot and spiced so nicely, I can't wait to go back. The best was definitely the channa in roti... if you go there, the is a MUST. IT was ok... Would I go here again? Not unless I am extremely desperate and dont want to travel to Queens, NY. The curry was bland. THe roti tasted sweet-- ummm roti is not suppose to taste sweet.. THen the macaroni pie portion was like tablespoon portion and not worth the money I paid- I should have known better when the lady went to the back to get it vs. preparing it up front.. Great heapin' portions and friendly owner - we chatted about how his grandma actually taught Gloria's grandma?aunt? of the famed Gloria's mini-empire how to cook. Perhaps the student exceeded the teacher because I found Jenny's to be disappointing in comparison to most of the Brooklyn Trini spots I've tried. Dal puri was decent - soft - but the fillings were lacking in flavor, even with a generous hit of pepper and tamarind sauces. I had to pick out the weedy sprigs of thyme that were left in the overcooked pumpkin filling, not exactly a pleasant thing to bite into. Chana was also bland. If you have a crazy craving for a taste of T&T up in the Bx, Jenny's might be passable and convenient (right off the 6 train) but certainly not somewhere worth going out of your way for. read more

My husband and I visited Jenny's Roti shop on a whim, but were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was nice and the owner and his wife were pleasant, conversational, and extremely accommodating. I got the chicken roti and my husband, after tasting it, decided to get the stewed chicken roti. We also purchased an order of curry goat roti to go for my dad in NJ (aka "the food critic extraordinaire" ) who also reported that everything was delicious. Everything was seasoned to perfection...simply delicious...and we will definitely go back to patronize Jennys the next time we are in the area. read more

I am a Trini Abroad and Jenny's was recommended to me. I bought doubles and phulorie for an event and was satisfied with both the customer service and food. My platters were a hit. Jenny's made a wicked tamarind sauce that was nostalgic and a cucumber pepper that was unique and delicious. This was worth the commute. I met the owner, Jenny, who is onsite, and she was very warm and personable. I took a note of the menu and was told that I can call ahead to order. This is good because it means I am guaranteed fresh food that is hot with less wait time. I am definitely returning and would recommend this local Trini Caribbean spot to others. read more

Amazing fresh west Indian food. Everything there is good and inexpensive. The owners are a really nice family who make everything fresh daily. My favorite thing from there is the Chinese barbeque chicken. But they only make it on Fridays. read more

Excellent all around. The restaurant is clean, pleasant and cozy, the customer service is warm and friendly and the food is properly seasoned and authentic. Their dhal puri which I eat in place of regular bread is out of this world, fresh and hot. If you want to try authentic Trinidad food give this restaurant a try. I just came in here with my wife because I was curious to try out west indian food. First of all, I ordered jerk chicken with roti and was asked by the guy from the counter if I wanted bone or boneless? I was a bit startled it came boneless. My wife ordered fried bake with Biagan and spinach pie. The way the guy was talking was very condescending asking her if she knew what it was. Upon paying, I asked his father if this is jerk chicken with roti? He seemed confused and the guy behind the counter told me it was chicken curry which I did not order. There was no spinach pie either. I thought let me give them the benefit of the doubt and try it - I was even more disappointed the chicken curry didn't taste fresh at all and was very bland. Maybe even reheated by chef mic(rowave). I found this place to have poor service and over priced for low quality food. 1 star from me and would not go here again. read more

Went here a few weeks ago to get some roti. Ended up getting a few doubles, roti and a beef patty at the behest of the reviews. Needless to say I was very disappointed with the doubles, the Chana curry was bland needed salt and the double itself was dripping with oil. The beef patti was pedestrian at best and was nothing special. The roti was the saving grace to say the least, very soft and flaky. Was simply delicious and was very good with some homemade chicken curry. It was even good a few days later after being stored in the fridge. read more

The food is horrible here. It is all tasteless and gross. They cannot make doubles or pholourie to save their lives. They change employees regularly, this accounts for the different reviews. Their curries are tasteless too. In addition, The people who will buy from this place are definitely not Trinidadians. This area has a big Guyanese population. I'm not one to leave reviews. But after the experience had I feel I have to. Last week after work I called to order dhal puri this was at 610pm. I picked up at 630pm and went home 3 blocks away. I purchased 4 It smelled weIrd in the car but that's normal because of the bag they put it in. Like most I feed my son because eating he refused to eat and I found something else to feed him and then it was my turn. From the first piece the taste was off think it might have been the curry. I took another piece and eat that by itself but it was clear the dhal filling was spoiled. The dough was fine but the filling was spoil took the next one out and it was the same across all 4. I'm not as mad at the money lost but at the quality of the food. If my son had actually eat this I would have definitely report them. But reading reviews I hope this message gets to the owner and they can make the adjustments for better quality food . We strongly need a decent West Indian restaurant within our community. . read more
