We brought our minivan in to have the air conditioning repaired. The first repair was quoted at approximately $1,000. The AC worked for only about a week before failing again. We returned, and they diagnosed a different issue and charged an additional $1,300. Again, the repair lasted only about a week. Now they are telling us there is a third, different problem that will cost another $3,300 to repair. Had we been accurately informed from the beginning that repairing the AC could ultimately cost more than $5,000, we never would have authorized the initial repairs. Despite two unsuccessful repair attempts and thousands of dollars spent, the original problem remains unresolved. We asked them to consider a refund or other resolution, but they declined. To make matters worse, because our van was unusable, we had to rent another vehicle for an out-of-state family reunion, adding even more unexpected expense. I understand that diagnosing automotive problems can be difficult, but I expect a repair shop to stand behind its work and work toward a fair resolution when repeated diagnoses and repairs fail to fix the problem. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this business.

I liked the experience enough that I decided to give them a shot again for my next paid oil change, and that's when the difference really stood out. Jiffy Lube's main advantage is speed. You stay in your car and you are in and out quickly. But Christian Brothers wins in almost every other category. The waiting room is clean and comfortable (even have cell phone chargers), the people are genuinely friendly, and the pricing has actually been better in my experience. I also appreciate that my car is returned clean, without the greasy or rushed feeling I sometimes had before. Scheduling is easy too. Their website makes it simple to book an appointment, so even though it is not a drive through experience, it still feels efficient and well organized. If speed is the only thing you care about, Jiffy Lube works. But if you value service, cleanliness, and feeling confident about who is working on your car, Christian Brothers Automotive has earned my business going forward.

CB didn't seem to want to deal with the warranty, telling me on the phone they need to check the vehicle to see why my car was draining the battery before any talk about a refund or partial refund. The battery had side posts. CB used old stripped posts that caused my battery to only have a weak connection at best. The result. My car got stranded just off a freeway ramp. I had to wait two hours for AAA to get there and tow me to a place that discovered the issue right away and replaced the battery posts with new ones. Now it runs perfectly, no thanks to UnChristian Brothers. Needless to say. They lost a customer.

To me it is the stuff of nightmares, not too long ago I spent $1,800 in repairs that I literally ended up having to pay someone else to do. This is where AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care came in. After another shop replaced my transmission and left it in worse shape than the bad transmission they took out, I'd lost all faith and trust in mechanics and even considered just buying a new car instead of having to deal with a repair shop again. But I'd met Stephen and his team at The Best of Omaha 2016 event and spoke with them about my troubles and they were so understanding, I decided to give car repair one more try (plus I really didn't want a car note). Finally, I called and spoke with Stephen to make an appointment to bring in my truck. But I kept giving excuses that I couldn't bring in my truck because I was having difficulty finding a ride back home, and he quickly piped in to let me know that they would come and get my truck and as long as they do the repairs, there would be no charge. Sure enough, he called me this morning right when he said he would and told me DC Girl was ready. They fixed my transmission, flushed my radiator, changed my oil and replaced my muffler and exhaust pipes, for a price I felt was more than reasonable AND he treated me to a home-made cupcake that his mother made (which was better than any of those high price cupcake places I've been to).
