Hannah was full of knowledge about the river and the surrounding area, as well as being a skilled river guide with 4 years of experience with this rafting company. All of the staff were pretty chill and everyone had a memorable and safe trip down the Rapid. All of this without a 4+/- hour ride up into whoknowswhere Maine. BONUS: to finish the run with a slow pontoon boat ride back to base camp was the perfect way to end a great afternoon. Each one is so excited to meet you and super friendly. We did a 4PM ride which took us into the dark but they had headlamps for us to use when we returned and nice hot drinks. I would definitely come back simply to spend more time with the dogs! It was a cool experience and even better that we got to have some snow on the ground while doing so.

My husband found it while looking for something unique to do, and what I expected to be a fun winter activity turned into an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we could tell this wasn't just a business -- it's a passion. We loved interacting with both the puppies and the seasoned sled dogs who quite literally do much of the heavy lifting. During our sled ride through the White Mountains forest, we enjoyed the sights and learning. The dogs are treated like family, and are happy, affectionate, and genuinely excited to run. One of the most meaningful parts was talking with the mushers and learning how they came to Muddy Paw and how the dogs begin training. We also learned that when the dogs retire around 8-10 years old, many are adopted by families who've taken the tour. I'd be lying if I said my husband, kids, and I don't already have a list of dogs we hope to adopt someday -- we've even reached out to express interest! This is more than an excursion -- it's an experience filled with heart, care, and joy. I can't recommend it enough.

And when I got off, I went to retrieve my keys to leave, and I was treated as if I was a moron when I tried to explain that I just had given her a fob, not a full set of keys. She treated me like I was a two year-old idiot and was very sassy with me and again with her long snarl of a face. The locals refer to it as lower acusshnet falls (not spelling it right) but it's absolutely AMAZING…read more& there is no way they want tourists to know about this spot- because there aren't really maps or directions. It sort of just comes up as white mountains park. You pull into a parking lot and you walk about .25 of a mile and you begin to see little spots on the rocks where individuals and families are camped out or have their towels set up. There is a natural water slide with gentle rapids making it just the right amount of fun without being scary! My son LOVED IT. You can bring tubes or water toys- which make it great- I can seen kids as young as 1 going down! The only thing that made me nervous was kids falling & possibly hitting there head- because during my visit- we helped save a man who slid down on his but & hit his head and was knocked out cold face down unconscious in the water & we turned him over and he eventually came to! One of the members of our group also saved his son- who was just drifting really far away on his raft. The views and water are crystal clear and beautiful! This is a BEYOND BEAUTIFUL SPOT- a definite must see for locals AND TOURISTS! Just be careful because rocks can be slippery and it can be dangerous. I'd say to stick with groups & if you're going alone just make sure someone knows!

In the late September I really enjoyed fall colors. Besides, this forest is very light which I liked a lot. Although this is a couple of feet under 4000 foot, still listed in the 4000footers!
