I really don't understand why there's so much hate on Yelp for Jerry Hunt supercenter. This is the second vehicle that we've purchased there and it's been nothing short of enjoyable if shopping for cars can even be that. I will say after going to several lots and looking at cars that had way too many miles and look like people had lived in them and smelled like a cigarette factory Jerry Hunt supercenter is a breath of fresh air, literally because their cars are clean they're very low mileage and it's hard to beat the price. We were able to quickly pick out a new car or a used car for our daughter and it looks brand new they even repainted a back piece that had some scuff marks on it and there's just nothing bad I have to say about this dealership. The only deal in used cars but how many of us can even afford a new car today? If you're in the market for a new car for you I would definitely go to their website because they have hundreds upon hundreds of vehicles and if you're looking for a specific type they probably have 15 or 20 of that type in many colors and they're all going to be clean. Another bonus is they offer a lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as you own the vehicle. read more

Updated 7/22/2026 I know this will get lost in a sea of reviews but I am absolutely disappointed in Jerry Hunt. We have had to go back 3 times to sign paperwork that should of been handled at the beginning, this isn't even the beginning of my issues. We bought a car from them 3 years ago with two weeks we had to drop $500 in it because the fuel gage didn't read correctly & while dealing with all that the manifold was crack and the catalytic converter was stopped up. Throughout the three years we put at least $3000 in that equinox. The check engine light stayed constantly on. Then when we found out the timing chain needed replacement and that's another $3000, we decided no, taking it back and they can have it. I'm done. So on 7/4 we took it back and at the end of the day they worked with us & we got a 2024 Soul. Nothing down. Jason was amazing and the sales manager was accommodating. We get it home , touchscreen on radio doesn't work & now there's a fan noise that's very noticeable, like it is hitting something. For the touchscreen they sent is to Bob King Kia to get it fixed, Bob King called the Ally (extra insurance company for the electrical stuff) Ally called us letting us know they are waiting to hear back from Jerry Hunt, which as of right now typing out this line of frustration, Jerry Hunt has yet to call anyone back. I cannot speak for any other person but when I decide to invest in a car that's priced at $25k I expect it to be right. I just want it corrected. Is that too much to ask? read more

One star is too much! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE! We bought a truck here a year ago and had multiple issues with this place. The truck was fine for the most part- the service and overall experience were awful. We had to go back several times to finally get the truck. The rear bumper had some damage that they said they would fix. When we looked at it after being "fixed", it was crooked and had to be fixed again. This was the third trip there! Then they gave us the wrong key fob that didn't even go to the truck but they programmed it anyway and passed it off as the one to go with the truck. We had to confirm with a local Ram dealer that it was not right and then had to buy 2 new fobs. Also, had to fight to get the license plate sent to us instead of driving back to Jerry Hunt to get it. Then...... we go back for the yearly drive train inspection (part of their warranty) and state inspection........ they fail the truck on the state inspection. Why? The window tint. This truck was purchased with this window tint and THEY passed it on the yearly inspection last year. When this was stated, two different managers said they had been caught on this issue and were trying to do things right. Well, if you don't do shady things, you don't have to worry about being caught! To be fair, they did offer to make it right but had to agree to a higher amount in order to have the tint corrected by a place of our choosing. My daughter bought a Jeep from them and also had nothing but trouble and MULTIPLE TRIPS to the dealership to get things fixed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JERRY HUNT! read more

I had to leave a one star because no star wasn't an option. I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership and would strongly encourage others to be cautious. I found the truck I wanted, test drove it, and decided to move forward with trading in my current vehicle. We went through the negotiation process and eventually agreed on numbers I was comfortable with. I initialed paperwork for both the trade-in value and the financing terms we discussed. After sitting at the dealership for hours, I was finally sent to the finance manager, Tyrone Mcelveen, to complete everything. This is where things took a turn. Without clearly explaining anything to me, he changed my loan term from 72 months to 84 months and added a warranty--without my knowledge or consent. Because the term was extended, the monthly payment stayed about the same, so it wasn't immediately obvious what had been done. When I questioned why the total amount was higher than expected (around $7,000 more), I was told it was due to GAP coverage and interest. That didn't sit right with me. I asked for an itemized breakdown before leaving, which I never received. (Still have yet to receive!) Later that night, I went through my paperwork more carefully and discovered a warranty brochure included--this was the first real indication that something had been added. Not a single document clearly showed a full breakdown of what I was paying for. I contacted the finance manager, Tyrone, the next day and asked directly if a warranty had been added to my loan. He admitted that it had and then tried to tell me that GAP required the warranty, which is simply not true. I immediately told him to cancel it. He claimed he did and sent over paperwork, but at that point I didn't trust the situation. To be safe, I contacted the warranty company myself (which had not been done like he said) and confirmed the cancellation and secured a full refund. Because of this experience, my loan ended up being financed for thousands more than it should have been, and I've now had to take additional steps to refinance altogether. Moral of the story: be extremely careful here. Read every single document thoroughly, do not let anyone rush you, and don't assume anything is being done in your best interest. Everyone was fairly nice but it was both rushed when trying to look at cars and test drive but then extremely slow when doing anything else. I found a car i really liked and wanted to talk about it but they didn't give me time to think. I liked it enough so I traded my car in for it but then they wouldn't tell me how much I was getting for trading it in until the end when i was signing loan papers. They also gave me $5000 less than what they appraised it for as well as charging a $6000 service fee for just buying and loaning through them which is insane, almost twice as much as when i bought a brand new car! Then when I was looking at the car after buying they didn't even clean it, maybe besides vacuuming the floors! I know it is used so it has wear-and-tear but charging so much just to buy with them but not even doing a good job detailing is crazy. Also just checked, no spare tire or jack and the key is not original key, but of course they did not tell me this. Update: They are trying to make this right, and gave me an explanation of how this situation happened. Apparently I am very unlucky! Still, I can see room for improvement on making sure we're talking about the same car - I tried to identify it via price (they have a recording of our call, which is great, and I apparently did not mention the blue color). I said something to the effect of "the one that's 31 thousand six hundred something" - and she affirmed that and said that actually the price had dropped. Turns out she was looking at the only model Y in her system and assuming we were talking about the same one that I had been looking at as available the night before. She assumed the price had dropped, as they often adjust their pricing; it had not, actually. I don't know if they have the capability, but if at that moment she had said "hm, let me see if the price just dropped from 31.6 to 30.2" we might have found out we were talking about different cars. The other thing is I clicked on "value my trade-in" from the details page of the car I was interested in, and so I thought she would have that information. Apparently this should normally happen, but did not - perhaps because the car was sold that day and had not yet entered the system as sold, but had exited the system when she looked at it in the morning? Josh, the sales manager, said they update things at midnight. Like I said, I'm unlucky. The other bit where there is room for improvement is how somehow the different departments can fail to sync up; I guess I should have been "showroom" or something, but when I asked the front desk for the person I was speaking with by name, she said "oh you're PDC" and "she's not around". Josh said she was, but somehow there was a disconnect. I just showed up at the address they texted me and asked for the person by name - that should hopefully work! But Josh clearly cares about getting things right (he wasn't happy about the water thing for example, haha), not just burnishing reviews, so I am raising my rating. It isn't yet a 5 star experience because of the room for improvement, but they are also looking for another car for me - maybe the whole thing can be redeemed. Original review: What a horrible experience. They said they had the car I was looking for that I found on their website. I said, "you've got the blue Model Y, right?" Yes. "Ok, because I'm driving 2 hours." Well, I get there and suddenly it's not there. Did they sell it out from under me or did they have some false listing to pull people in? I don't know and they wouldn't say. Also when I got there, the lady I spoke with was not around so they eventually found someone. Though I mentioned my drive, they didn't offer a water or anything. Called Jerry Hunt late Feb. to make an appointment for a specific truck for the following day. Drove 2 hours to the Lexington location only to find out it had been sold the previous evening. They had a decent inventory so I looked at a couple of similar models and found one that fit my needs. Agreed to a price and that is when things went sideways. Two days after my purchase, I received a call from the finance manager to let me know the paperwork I had signed had the wrong VIN and the paperwork needed corrected and re-signed. Also, they got the match wrong and owed me about $300. I had them FedEx the paperwork. Received the paperwork the next day but no check was included. I called the finance manager to ask what was going on and he said they would MAIL me the check. Fast forward 8 weeks and I have yet to receive the title and registration (I paid cash). Spoke to one of the Hunt family members, explained the situation. He called me back a few minutes later and said they had not sent out until the 17th of APRIL. The title and registration paperwork had been on someone's desk for 7 Weeks! The plates I transferred expired the end of April. I will have a truck that is fully paid for, insured and cannot be driven. Their customer service is terrible and business practices worse. read more

I saw a post for a great little car online and had been communicating with a lovely person named Stephanie on the sales team who was very responsive and respectful. I thought trying to work with them would be easy and worthwhile based on that interaction. The next day I called to ask some clarifying questions, fully prepared to try to get a contract going and head over for a test drive. The internet sales manager (?Josh) answered and unfortunately immediately began condescending and giving me the run around which unfortunately lost my business. He actually asked me how many cars I have purchased and felt the need to keep reiterating that he has been doing this for 30 years. He refused to share the buy rate with me and asked if I even knew what the payment would be on the car, further belittling me for having a budget. I had a great experience with Manny has my salesperson. I live in Charleston, SC and found the car I purchased online. Manny did a very detailed video for me to see before I made the four-hour drive to the dealership. I had rented a car and a different salesperson picked me up at the rental office. The paperwork was smooth process, and I was in and out. I would recommend working with Manny if you are in the market for a good used car. I recently purchased a car from them. Unfortunately, a lot of what I was told turned out not to be true. They told me 'Multiple times' that the warranty was transferrable. When I called the manufacturer to get more details I was told only "certified pre-owned" cars were eligible for the warranty to be transferred. JH told me, what was included in the price was title, registration and property taxes.... then I got a bill in the mail for the property taxes. When I called ask JH why I got the bill they suddenly played ignorant. I like the used car well enough (although the price was a bit on the high side), but I don't like the fact that I was given so much misinformation; not only by the salespeople, but their supervisor and the manager I signed off all the paperwork with. Each kept stressing how the warranty was transferred and 'all the money I'd be saving' with the warranty... none of which turned out to be true. If they had been honest up front it wouldn't have impacted the sale. However, since they weren't being honest, I can't recommend them. If you can't trust their word, you shouldn't do business with them. In the future I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

After purchasing a vehicle at the beginning of this year with a full warranty that I paid extra for, a month has not gone by that it has not had to be in the shop. i took it a few months ago and stated there was an aggressive downshift and upshift between certain gears and also that in higher gears at a low rpm (about 35-40 mp) the entire front of the truck would shake going down the road. the solution was to service the trans and do a full fluid flush. it did not solve any of the problems. in fact made the shaking happen throughout all gears. I took the truck back on 6/25/2025, and after almost another full month of it being in the shop again they finally told me after I had to reach out to them after about two weeks that the warranty company was going to be sending a reman transmission. when I asked if the flywheel was going to be replaced along with the reman and torque converter the service manager informed me he wasn't sure and that the flywheel was another story in itself. (mind you when I first purchased the truck, one of the sales managers told me that while it was getting a rear main seal changed the tech made a comment about suspecting the flywheel may be bent. nothing else was said or done concerning the flywheel) fast forward to 7/9/2025. Got notified my truck was ready. went and picked the truck up and before I got more then 5 miles away. Truck is still slightly shifting hard in certain gears and still shakes in low rpm's. So another month and another payment for a truck that still is not fixed per usual. And that's just the short version of the story read more

I purchased a 2014 Ford Explorer in December of 2021. Within the first few weeks, we noticed a leak with the transmission fluid. I took it to Jerry Hunt and it was in the shop for 3 weeks. We were told it was a crack in the transmission housing and they would replace it. We were told they would replace it with a jasper transmission. The car has been towed 2x and been in the shop multiple times. We noticed the transmission was shifting hard, earlier in the month of April 2023. The pressure in the transmission was so high, it was causing the fluid to blow out the cap and spray out from under the car. We took it to a local shop and we're told it was internal and we needed to return it to the dealer for them to fix. We arrived at the dealership on Saturday and were told that they would not fix the transmission and that it was out of warranty. It was out of warranty because they put a USED transmission in my car, rather than a refurbished Jasper. I am a home hospice nurse and drive hundreds of miles a week to see my patients and help them transition to their next life and I need a reliable car. I also drive my children to sporting activities and all our family trips are in my car. I need it to be reliable!!! Jerry Hunt refused to acknowledge that they lied and didn't do what we were told. I was also told by the sales manager, to let the bank rep the car and buy a new one before they did. We were also told by the same sales manager, that we needed to budget our finances better so that we could afford a $700 car payment! I was absolutely appalled at these comments and the lack of respect that was shown to myself and my husband. We will NEVER purchase a vehicle from here again and I will make sure that none of my family or friends, will either! read more

**SELLER BEWARE!!!** I took off work to visit Jerry Hunt Supercenter in Salisbury to SELL my 2018 Maserati Ghibli S. This decision was made based off of a woman named Candice who works out of their business development center in Lexington, NC hounding me for literal months to bring it in. Candice and I had exchanged MANY texts and phone conversations leading to this visit. I had given her many photos of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. I told her I did not want to waste my time by bringing the car up there just to be given some lowball number. From the beginning of our conversation it was made clear I was SELLING the car and not TRADING it. This is important because of what I found out when I arrived at the dealership. I had an appointment for 9:30 am this morning and arrived a little late. I walked up to the front desk and a gentleman who I would later find out is the sales manager looked at me and did not even greet me. Instead he got the newest member of their team, Mac, to greet my girlfriend and myself after we had been standing there for 5 minutes. Mac took the car to get appraised and came back with the number of $21,500. I told him that was VERY low and he came back again at $22,000. I rejected the offer and approached the sales desk. It was very professional to see the women working there at their respective computers with their vapes in full view next to their keyboards. I spoke with the sales manager Jared Barnes who told me he knew exactly who we were when we walked in the door, since it was obvious he in fact did not. And even if he did, he just stared at us and sent the new guy over. I told Jared that the price quoted was ridiculous and he proceeded to tell me that it was the fair TRADE- IN value. I reminded him we were not trading the car in, but SELLING it. He said they only offer trade-in prices for a person selling them their car. **This was the first time I had heard this from anyone. Even on Jerry Hunt's website it has a tab where you can see the SELL value of your vehicle. VERY MISLEADING PRACTICES. He also told me they were going to have to put $1800.00 into replacing the brakes and rotors since they were worn down completely. Yeah ok. My brakes do not squeal at all and there is absolutely no grinding of the rotors. So this was just a ploy to justify some of the low price offered for my car. **Please note, if I had not approached the service desk to speak with Jared, he would not have spoken to us the first time. Instead, he hid behind the newest employee there and let him do his dirty work. If you are in the market to SELL your vehicle, go elsewhere. I hope my experience helps to shed the light on what you will experience with Jerry Hunt Supercenter. The person you may be talking with at the business development center is just trying to get you to the dealership. You will not be offered a fair price as a SELLER. I drove an hour one way to the lot in Lexington to look at a 2021 Honda Accord that was on their website. As early as 1 hour prior to me taking the drive to see the car, I received a text from "Emily Everhart", with more updates about the car (ie Carfax info - that incidentally showed a front end collision had occurred). On the website it said 1 owner, NO ACCIDENTS, clean title, etc). That is not even the best part. I got there and they told me the car had been sold 2 days prior. I'm amazed by all the glowing reviews. I had a very different experience. They don't stand by their word. They do have nice prices, but the customer service is terrible. Although my enthusiastic salesperson, Matt Marsh, told me over and over during the purchase process that Jerry Hunt stands by their word, backs up their cars, and will do what it takes to satisfy their customers, the extremely rude sales manager laughed at me when I asked for a few items to be looked at just a few days after my purchase. Sales manager's name is Bob Keleman. Worst customer service experience i've ever had buying a car. Just buy direct from the auction since that's all they're doing. They claim to have a service department, 140 pt checks, and an intro warranty, but it's all BS. Bought a BMW X5 from them and they won't even give me the floor mats. When I told them the service due light came on on my initial drive home from the dealership, same rude a$$ sales manager, Bob Keleman, told me they couldn't control whether or not oil changes were needed in their vehicles. He also directly contradicted what the initial salesperson had said regarding presence of spare tire and original equipment. Poor form. Stay away. I'll give them 2 stars b/c the salespeople, esp Matt, seemed decent. Except Matt never returned my phone calls regarding issues. Management sucks apparently. I see people bring up the name Todd Hunt in their reviews, often praising what a good, customer service oriented owner he is. Husband purchased a ram from there two months ago. He wanted this truck bad and after a week of back and forth he finally got it. Four diff salesmen four diff prices four different down payments? Sounds fishy right. Get the truck trailer lights do not work. Two visits to the service place still not fixed. Five seconds of checking fuses and we replaced them ourselves. Fuses! Your mechanics could as so much look at that!. Next visit power train warranty. We received multiple letters and phone calls to bring it in for an oil change under warranty right. Free of charge. Horrible experience, incompetent and untrustworthy staff. I called and did everything I could to be the 1st person in line to purchase a vehicle that was "coming soon". The internet staff person, Katina, told me she would call me immediately upon said vehicle coming available. She did not and nobody from the dealership did, so another customer got a deposit down on it before me when it became available at random. When I addressed this with the sales manager, and later the GM, I was met by nothing but excuses and indifference. They either are too incompetent , or simply lazy, to care about putting a fair process in place around those inquiring about vehicles in the "coming soon" status. It makes no sense why I was unable to put a deposit down on a vehicle until it reaches a certain point in their system. Then I can't trust their staff to do what they said they would do. Because of their lack of process, I lost out on a vehicle that I really wanted and that doesn't come around that often in the condition and YMM that this one was in. Came to get a car because of the lifetime warranty for cars under 100,000 miles. Found a car with 80,089 miles and decided to get it. Was informed the warranty had changed to 80,000 miles but no big deal they could still get it since the car was so close. After doing about 2 hours of paperwork to purchase, they said they couldn't do it because it was over 80,000 so I pulled up their website and showed them on their own website where it said 100,000 miles. The salesman took it to the managers and they deleted it off my phone and changed the website immediately. (Good thing for screenshots) now the car has electrical issues and is leaking water into a tail light housing and I have to call 3-4 times a week to get a call back. They have tons of cars but simply do not care about their customers. Very shady car lot that will do anything but help customers out. read more

This place will make on offer on your trade, albeit somewhat low. They will call, email, & text you until you come in. The salesperson showed us a Jeep in our price range, which had obviously been wrecked. I had 2 mechanics with me who know their stuff. The salesperson just played dumb with every issue they pointed out. There were bolts MISSING above the radiator, and the entire plastic engine cover was MISSING also. There were obvious drips of coolant, and a chunk out of the lower air deflector. Tires, brakes and rotors had been changed as well as radiator. Dead giveaways to a front end accident. Do not trust these people. They obviously buy wrecked junk at auction polish it up & pass it off as a quality used vehicle. read more

Takes it back to Jerry Hunt's ScamCenter to get it "fixed" and then a few months go by and boom it goes out again. Now, let's take it back to the ScamCenter for a second time. Look at that, takes them almost 2 weeks to fix it and she gets it back...ONLY FOR IT TO GO OUT AGAIN THAT SAME WEEK! Horrible business. They did not apologize for the inconvenience or anything. Came here to buy a truck after seeing the huge truck inventory. I stopped in to look at the truck before going inside to get a salesman and boy i'm glad i did. The price was too good to be true and i figured there was something that just wasn't right. After looking at the truck, there was overspray on the paint and then to make it worse, the whole entire underbody was spray painted black with orange rust showing through in spots. I took a rough bristled brush and rubbed underneath it and the under spray (to cover the rust came right off.) I'm not talking about a little rust but tons of rust. I don't recommend this place and if you do use it, make sure you have your mechanic really check the vehicle!! read more

We purchased two cars in the same year from this dealership, both with quite expensive warranties.Jerry Hunt sold us a truck Ram with a broken window that now leaks. We saw the stain at the time of purchase but trusted that the problem had been fixed. A few months ago after a big storm we realized it wasn't. If they were a responsible and ethical company they would have noticed the stain, fix it and sell the truck in good condition. Now they refused to fix it because it has been a year since the purchase. This is the second problem we have had with that truck and this was the only time we could bring it in since it was until not too long ago, our only reliable vehicle. Jerry Hunt missed an opportunity to do what is right. We are greatly disappointed and we don't recommend this dealership. We won't purchase again. read more

I purchased my car in the rain. Look at everything about their cars before purchasing. Paint job too because my car has soooo many scratches and make sure they have mats in the floor but look under them to insure good carpet. They Will sell you a lemon got my car 2 days later starter went out had it towed wasn't hearing anything had to keep calling them also I didn't have any floor mats and I just now took the plastic off my floor. It's a hole in my floor board plus it like a big splash of bleach. I'll be careful when buying a car again!!!!! Don't let them rip u off like me read more

Bought a 2012 VW Tiguan for my 16 year old daughters first car 9 months ago. Had a oil leak. Daughter of the owner came in signed a paper stating leak was fixed. Now car burning oil and still leaking oil from the turbo! Dishonest and by the way she said this was a great car for our daughter. My question to her is would you put your daughter in it!!! EDIT 10/10/22: while the sales experience was wonderful, the service experience has been anything but. We bought a vehicle that was five years old and have only had it for six weeks and it has been towed back to the service department twice now. Today the vehicle was brought back and the check engine light is still on and it's still putting out an engine code. I am so incredibly frustrated with the service department and the fact that they continue to put a Band-Aid on the issue when we live 1 hour and 45 minutes away. I am so unhappy with the service department. It's quite embarrassing when you have to continually have a vehicle towed and your neighbors start asking why. It's also embarrassing on Jerry Hunts part when our local Chevrolet dealership starts asking why we keep having to have the check engine light codes ran when the vehicle is not getting fixed. I keep hearing how "Mr. Hunt wouldn't be happy with you, leaving with a vehicle that has an engine issue this soon" and "Mr. Hunt wants to make sure you have a happy experience". I'm sure if Mr. Hunt knew what was going on. He wouldn't be happy with the situation either. Incredibly pleased with the service they provided! The buying process was very quick and easy! I've never been in and out of a dealership that quick before! Unfortunately less than 24 hours after we bought the vehicle the check engine light came on (nothing they would've known about ahead of time). It was very inconvenient because we are one hour and 45 minutes away from the dealership. I called them and told them the issue and they immediately said that they would come to my home to pick up the vehicle they would cover the cost and they would return the vehicle to my house and I wouldn't have to make that long trip. It's very unheard of in this day and age to hear of a dealership so willing to help! Highly recommend them! read more

Purchased a truck from these jokers and 9 months later found out the shocks are trash. They blamed it on the off road tires and said it needed an alignment. Got truck checked out at another dealership and it's the shocks. Spoke with Aaron in service who said "he wasn't paying for it but would give a discount. Quoted price was 200 more then the dealership next door. I will never do business here again. They just mask the problems and then make excuses to push blame off themselves. They sold a friend of mine a Nissan truck with three bald tires. There is no way it would pass inspection someplace else. Too bad too, the guy who bought it is a real nice guy and as a young person, this was his first car purchase on his own. They took advance of his naivete with used cars.
