Used to be great. Has gone downhill in recent years. Had had two vehicles where they kept the custom valve caps. Had two vehicles with leaking tires (not seated or valve issue) after buying new. Had one vehicle after service that had 3 of the 5 lugs on 2 of the wheels completely loose and could have caused a serious accident or damage. Thankfully was found after hearing a grinding sound before any thing really bad happened. Additionally, they tried to upsell services and said things were bad when they weren't. Will not be back and will be advising others to avoid. read more

I love this place. I've been coming here for close to 40 years. It's like CHEERS; everybody knows your name. I always get great service, fair prices, and honest answers. If they tell me that I need to have something done, it's because I need it. Not because they want to charge me. They gave my children's cars top notch service. I never had to worry about safety when they were driving. And personal service. My minor kids could take their cars by for work and Dale, Danny, and their crew knew that I'd come by and pay them later. When my mom and sister were driving through High Point and had car trouble, they called High Point Tire. They helped them get a rental car so that they could continue their trip to the beach, and had their car ready when they returned. Best people ever! read more

DO NOT Let this place touch your car! Took my car to have aligned. They could get the steering wheel straight and my rear adjustable cambers they never touched. Told me everything was good. It took less that 2 months for my rear tires to be completely bald... I replaced both rear tires. $1000 a piece (dodge charger).. That's $4000 for and these idiots couldn't or wouldn't turn the nuts to positive on camber to get rear wheels right. I took car to a professional alignment shop where they told me they "NEVER EVEN SET THE CAMBERS RIGHT".. Meaning they never touched the rear . They won't take owner ship of their screw up. I think Chris Austin is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I caught a flat tire and they were about to close and Chris made sure his guys fixed my tire. And everyone was so respectful and kind. I would recommend their service to anyone. He also gave me advice about getting another tire for my car I will be returning soon as they open to purchase a new tire. On a recent Monday morning I drove into High Point Tire with a flat tire in the back of my SUV. 5 minutes after I arrived, a tech found 2 holes in the tire, plugged them, remounted the tire and test drove the car for safety. The cost was reasonable. With my last flat tire experience, a different tire store nearby insisted the hole could not be plugged and the only solution was a new tire. My next tire purchase and car service will be at HP Tire. read more

Scheduled 9AM appointment in advance. Requested mounting and balancing of 4 brand new tires and a NC Safety Inspection. After an hour wait time, vehicle was driven into a service bay. Tires were mounted and balanced. Waited an additional 45 minutes for NC State Inspection When I brought the extensive wait time to "Randy's" attention who became visibly irritated and attempted to justify the delay in servicing my vehicle by stating that "walk in" customers' needs had to be addressed, I recognized that first time customers were given a low priority. In addition, an emission check was performed. Under NC DMV guidelines, an emission check is required only if the vehicle is 3 years old and the odometer reflects a mileage of 75,000. I had to bring the error to "Randy's" attention who had the $30 charge removed from the final invoice. I was again sorely disappointed as to how I was treated as a first time customer. I will take my automotive service needs to any number of High Point Tire Service competitors in the future. I would like to recommend that the staff improve their level of communication with consumers and management develop a more organized system of serving customers' needs . read more

This place is very convenient and I have always had positive experiences. This was the first time I have ever seen or spoken to the owner, Dale. Dale was very aggressive and agitated when I conversed with him. When I asked a question he told me to "stop" and continued to speak very loud. He completely caught me off guard with his volume, tone, and language. Unfortunately, I won't be back because his customer service was disappointing and lacked professionalism in every manner. read more

I had bad experience with the owner very aggressive and disappointed and disrespectful he fix wrong thing in my car and he wants me to pay $300 for the mistakes plus another $380 to change the spark plugs and coil when I tried to tell dale which is the owner why would I paid for something not fixing and very aggressive cursing me out told me to leave his office and he keeping my car be carful with this chop. read more

After a horrible experience at a local Havoline where they tried to charge me $1000 for something that ultimately cost $60 to fix, it was refreshing to see the High Point Tire provide excellent service at an extremely fair price. Made an appointment for an alignment and dropped off car. While in the lobby one of the guys came out (very nice guy maybe owner or co owner) and asked if I was being helped. Mentioned I was dropping off for alignment appt and while talking I casually asked, "Hey can you guys check and see if my brakes are ok or need any attention?" He replied "sure no problem, we can check that while its on the rack." Oh great. Turns out they said I did need front brakes and rotors so the bill was going to be up there more than I had anticipated at the moment so I decided to hold off for a bit. Go to pick up the car and the bill was $60 more than my initial quote. In looking at why I saw they charged me $60 for "brake inspection". When I asked what the deal was was told oh yeah there is a lot of work to do that. It would have been nice if someone would have mentioned that when I inquired about doing it rather than acting like they were happy to take care of me. Perhaps a better response would have been "Sure we will be happy to look, there is a brake inspection service we offer for $60 if you want us to do that." Had I known there was a $60 charge to look at brakes I would not have had checked because brakes are working fine and no warning lights to replace pad yet. Just thought it had been a while since replaced. Not only that but when I got home and further looked at paperwork the alignment for the front, of the three items that you get an alignment for (toe, caster, camber) they were only able to adjust one (the toe) to be within spec! The back wheels were adjusted to spec and seem ok. No mention of what was wrong that they could not set it correctly. Or even that they didn't other than the paperwork/receipt mentioned it. So basically I paid $145 for a partial 4-wheel alignment that I was quoted as being $80 out the door. Not too happy with this and will probably never return to this shop. Just beware and make sure you you specifically ask about any other charges beforehand. Oh and ask if they had any issues performing the work you did pay for! read more
