The worst customer service. The worst online buying art supplies experience I've ever had...and I've been doing it for a long time...and my orders are usually huge and costly. Yesterday I called Jerry's Artarama in Lawrenceville to inquire about easels. I first spoke to "Lisa," who was very helpful. She provided sound advice and suggestions that enabled my visit to the store, also yesterday, to proceed with knowledge of the product, which were the Saint Remy, Da Vinci and Carolina, (which I purchased). The salesperson whom I encountered, "Jenny," was equally helpful. After looking at the products, for my needs the "Carolina," was in my opinion exhibited the most stability. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience beginning with my initial call to the store and my eventual purchase. For me, I will in the future shop at no other art supply store, despite my drive from Bensalem, Pa. The people at Jerry's Artarama are great--everyone there has a casual smile and is generally helpful. But it wouldn't be a good store if they didn't have exactly everything an artist needs. Pens, pencils, papers, frames--pretty much everything. They could use a few more art supplies for kids, but that's a minor quibble. They are also a good resource for framing--but you should know a little something about how framing works. They did one amazing picture for me, and a second one that was good, but would have been much, much better if it was dry mounted. They told me they didn't dry mount, but I wish the person who helped me said "Honestly, you shouldn't get this done if you're not doing go dry mount it." That's what I would have said. Nevertheless I'm still mostly happy with even that art piece--the person helping me was patient and had a great design eye. The price at the end of the day was reasonable. (Though after I have to have this re-done with the dry mounting, it'll end up costing me a bit more than I wanted.) If I do work with them again I'd just make sure I knew a bit more about framing. You'll probably mostly be going for art supplies, and for that this place is aces! read more

The Rundown: Art store located in the Princeton/Lawrenceville area. Good: Good selection of art supplies, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. If you sign up for their mailing list, you also get coupons for use with the store. I have been building up my Copic marker collection with Jerry's selection, and their paint inventory is not too shabby either. Bad: Nothing really! Verdict: While Michael's is closer to me, it generally lacks that real art store feel, especially for art supplies for the more serious artists. Artarama fills that gap, so any artists looking for a better selection in the Princeton area, this is the place to go! read more

I discovered Jerry's in the spring when I took up watercolor painting. Such a friendly neighborhood place with a great selection of art supplies. I do have to find certain things online still as I get more particular and advance my skills. But overall this is my go-to source before I look elsewhere. This is a legitimate art supply store (without the crafts, though there are a few fun promotional items) with reasonable prices too. Staff is great. Recently, we were in there to buy cutting tools because we needed to make some mat cuts and an employee did it for us, no charge. I'm not sure if that's always the case, but we were in a pinch and it was a huge help. You'll find what you need without the parking nightmare and (mostly) ineffective, depressing staff at Michaels, at Nassau Park Plaza. read more

This is a wonderful little art supply that I happened upon while I was looking for stores outside of the Michael's/AC Moore ilk. It was only about 10-15 minutes away, and while the range of products was smaller than, say, Blick's Art Supply, I found that it more than met my expectations. The prices were very fair, and many of the more expensive products like easels were very heavily discounted. The staff were friendly and welcoming, too. I ended up opening a loyalty card with them because I definitely intend to come back whenever I'm home from college! I would definitely recommend this store to others. read more

I'm not sure what it was but when I walked in this Sat afternoon, I was a bit disappointed after walking around to be honest. It was empty and the 3 workers there didn't even a knowledge me until I was standing next to one fixing the shelf, it also seemed unusually dark/dim in there, it just wasn't a great vibe. I left with just 2 fine liner water color brushes. I expected a larger store and MUCH lower prices, the prices are nothing like the website! So its almost better for me to just order online then taking the 30 min trip over the Trenton bridge. Also, they advertised Mothers Day sales on all painting supplies however it was only for what seemed to be painting "kits" when I got there. I don't know if I had such high hopes bc I recently visited Blicks Art supply in Philly BC that place is huge and carries way, way more brands in store.. Strange BC their websites are so similar. However I do love that there is a actual art supply nearby if I needed something quickly and know I could find it there but I would much rather just buy online to cut costs. read more
