Jerry is timely and efficient. My main complaint is that I had asked for stains that would help blend an existing staircase with my main floors and there he fell short. The service itself was fine but I am very disappointed with the finished product in that the stain he used is a complete miss to my existing staircase. He provided several options for the stain which he said would all look good with my staircase but when I expressed my concern that they looked "too red" his response was that it is a red oak floor. He seemed rushed for my stain decision and I didn't feel like he was really trying to help me find the right stain. It may have been because he had family coming into town and wanted to finish up asap. When I saw the finished product and mentioned it was in the end too red, and was a miss with the staircase, he basically said it was my decision and asked for the check. read more

Incredible job! Jerry and his team turned my entire first floor of old, light colored maple into something out of a magazine! They meticulously worked to strip, sand, level, and fill the entire floor to perfection. Preparation is the entire key to the job. Then, they darkened the wood to our perfect color and put on several coats of top quality sealer. The floors look absolutely amazing! One of the most notable things is that there is literally zero dust. Jerry uses top of the light HEPA filter sanding equipment. It captures literally all of the dust. Even with this equipment, I expected to find some dust, but there was none. Not on the windowsills, none anywhere. Finally, here's what really matters. Jerry is a perfectionist. His standards for the work are far above most homeowners. He sees the smallest of flaws and makes sure his work is literally perfect. I'm a pretty tough person to please, and I can't say enough about how good of a job they did. After checking the reviews of several flooring contractors, I decided that Jerry's would provide the best outcome for my flooring remodel project. I was absolutely right. He came out to measure my floors and gave me a quote that was right in the same range as the other quotes I received. However, the others didn't claim to be dust-free. I was also getting my walls and ceilings repainted in the same rooms, and Jerry was able to schedule his crew the very next day after the painters were done in order to keep the project moving along. He came in, took out the old carpet, leveled the floors from all the old staples, and then installed the oak flooring. He and his partner sanded the entire floor, filled in the cracks, and in the end was a smooth and level as it could be. And absolutely no dust! Jerry uses a cyclone-style dust separator on his sanding equipment that captures everything that the machine puts out. Backed with a smaller sander for the edges of the room that uses a HEPA filter, you simply don't generate any dust at all. Because I had hardwood in adjacent rooms, we needed to match the stain to the existing floors. At first we didn't seem to be on the same page, but after trying a mixture of 50% one stain and 50% another, we came up with a perfect match! In fact, people remark how close the two woods appear now that the new floor is installed. (And the old wood is 20 years old!) Jerry completed the work by applying three coats of sealer, and replacing all the heavy furniture that had to be out of the room. Great job! read more

There was minimal dust, and they were thorough in cleaning up after the project. I appreciated them working us into their schedule quickly, and working late and weekend hours to accommodate us. Jerry also let me choose 3 stains to test out in small areas on the sanded wood, so I could see what they looked like for real. We had hardwood floor installed in our living space by Jerry's dust free flooring and they did a really good job. I actually found them on Angie's List and they have really good reviews out there. Here are some points you may find helpful: 1. Rates were competitive. I always invite multiple quotes before doing a major project and their estimate was at par with other flooring companies. 2. On schedule. They stuck to the dates and work was completed on time. 3. Dust Free. Dust is typically generated during sanding but they use a specialized powerful vacuum attached to the sanding machine. The vacuum is big and sits outside the house (on your deck or garage) and sucks it all in. This is different from the regular sanding machines that have a vacuum bag attached to it (like a vacuum cleaner) and these produce some dust. We did not see any dust on the cabinets, doors & windows after the job was done. 4. Good workmanship. There were no noticeable defects in the flooring and quality was really good. 5. They used water based poly-urethane. Water based poly does not have the toxic odor as an oil-based poly and dries quickly. The advantage was we did not have to move out of the house (no odor) and they could do all three coats in a single day (it dries fast). My neighbor had to go stay in a hotel for a day with his family because their installer used an oil-based poly. 6. Here are the additional things that they did and all this was part of the estimate: - They moved the furniture out. - Put the furniture back after the job was complete. They even brought felt pads for the furniture so as not to damage the new floor. - They disposed the old carpet & padding. - They raised the baseboards (so it looked aesthetic) and installed the quarter-rounds after staining it with matching color. - They replaced the old metal air vent covers in the floor with matching wooden trim. Again, aesthetics matter! There are a lot of flooring companies that nickle & dime you for these things and will end up costing you significantly more. Jerry's attitude is: "these things are part of floor installation and we just do them." They don't up-charge for these items that others consider as extras. As goes with any big project, there are always areas for improvement. 1. There is one small area of flooring which creaks a bit when you walk on it and I wish they had secured the sub-floor to the joists more thoroughly. Luckily, I have an unfinished basement and if the creaking increases, I can secure it from below, from the basement. Make sure you scout your floor and map out all the creaky areas before-hand and let the installers know. Just my two cents. 2. The floor stain turned out to be a little lighter than we expected. We like it a lot but it's lighter than the sample area they stained on the floor. I think this is true for all stains. A small sample area always look darker but the whole floor looks two notches lighter. This is just an fyi and not the installer's fault. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with how the floor turned out. It is so much better than carpet, looks updated and adds a huge value to your home if you ever put it out on the market. And it's easier to maintain! I would definitely recommend Jerry's Dust Free Flooring to anyone looking to get hardwood floors installed. read more

Floors look OK. He was not really helpful in dealing with the concerns we had. IE - There was a space left between the floor and the side of the stove. I am concerned about food getting down into that. He told me not to worry about it. Trim in the hallway looks tacky. Other little things that didn't seem important to him. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about Jerry. Not only was he timely and efficient on getting us a quote, but his work is excellent, fast, reasonable and DUST FREE. They worked with our schedule as well. The process itself is incredible. Any friend I have ever discussed refinishing floors has sounded like a nightmare (which is probably why I have avoided doing anything until now) from the dust that seems to creep in every corner to having to move out of their house for days to allow the finish to set. Jerry's crew came in on Monday, sanded (completely dust free) and prepped the floors. The following day, they stained the floors and we were walking on them by 6:30 that same night.
