I just picked my dog up and he looks as if he was abused and covered in vomit piss his own pulled out dog fur and this green gunk and shit he was terrified when I picked him up his neck is all bright red. I was able to get my doggy boarded last minute. I personally was not able to view the facility due to time constraints so the negative reviews on the pups not being supervised outside I cannot speak to. I do however know my little guy can hold his own, even with big dogs so I wasn't to worried. I do plan to go back next time and take a little tour and see for myself. My pup came home and appeared to be happy, minus missing his people like crazy. I spoke with Jerry personally and he seemed incredibly down to earth as well as a girl that answered the phone when I called them to ask ask last minute if they could keep him an extra day. I would not recommend this place to take your beloved pet under any circumstances!!! We dropped our 2 1/2 year old boxer Bentley off for a week while we were on vacation after being assured he would be well taken care of. When we picked him up on Monday we immediately knew something was wrong with him. He was not the healthy, happy dog we left there. When they brought him out to us, he was walking sideways and viciously shaking his head and his face and his right eye was swollen. He also smelled really bad ( actually the whole place smelled terrible) We asked Jerry, the owner about it and he said he probably just had an ear infection and " just pop a couple antibiotics in him and he'll be fine". ( Who has antibiotics just laying around?) We asked him about his eye and he blew that off too. We were so upset and immediately took Bentley to an emergency veterinarian. He had conjunctivitis in his eyes, severe double ear infections with raw, swollen ears leaking puss (one with a ruptured eardrum and hearing loss that may be permanent), vertigo from his ear infections and red sores and raw spots on his skin. The veterinarian kept asking us " you picked him up like this from the boarding place???" And also, confirmed our fear that this was something that had been ignored/neglected for days. He was in shock like we were. Now he has to wear a cone on his head for at least 2 weeks and it's cost us $556.00. When I called Jerry to ask him why he didn't seek medical attention for our dog while in his care, he said " he was fine until we picked him up". I basically told him he was full of shit. He is a liar and I am writing this to warn people to stay away from this place at all costs for the sake of your pets. read more

I'm super picky about where I take Zoe to get groomed. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and started grooming her myself because I had to do touch ups myself after paying lots of money to get her groomed. A friend introduced me to Jerry's Paw Spaw and I couldn't be happier. They did a wonderful job and, instead of coming home stressed as she had done before with other places, she came home wanting to play and run! We tried them today. We walked in and were told to take the dogs off their leash. Our dogs walked around the lobby and got used to the place meeting new dogs. When we were called to pick them up, we were greeted with our dogs at the door in the lobby again. They weren't in the cage but walking around. I loved it. The look great and even gave them a teeth cleaning for $5. The dogs were in great moods. I've tried other groomers in the area and our dogs would either come away depressed and drugged or having a crazy cut. We will definitely go back. read more

My dog was a regular daycare visitor at Jerry's for quite a while. After a day of playcare, I inquired on fresh scratches on the inside of her hind legs, asked if there had been a "humper" in the yard that day. I was brushed off with no regard and told "we don't have humpers". It was a week later, while playing at the adjacent dogpark that I realized the yard is RARELY if EVER monitored with a human outside WITH the dogs. It made sense how she could have been scratched up by another dog. This is not a safe environment !! I never took my girl back. As a frequent visitor to the park, I can confirm that the lack of supervised playcare is still the norm. Dogs left outside, distraught & crying to come back inside while being completely ignored by any staff. I highly recommend reconsidering using any of their services. read more

I took my main man, Milo, here for a day of daycare one day when I had a bunch of errands to run. I like small places because you know there won't be hundreds of dogs competing for attention and the yard with the trees for the play area looked awesome! The only thing that I wish they had was some kind of "report" on how Milo did. All I really got was a "he did okay". While I know Milo has a great temperament and kind of just "hangs out" not really doing anything interesting or crazy but I just wanted some feedback, I missed him all day! read more

Regarding Jerry's character.... he is an honorable man. We've used Jerry's services periodically over the years for our dogs, but that's not relevant to my story. Via our dog rescue network a few years ago, a man approached us about temp housing for two large dogs while he transitioned to a new apartment. He could not afford to board them. We approached Jerry, not for a handout, but for help. He agreed to help board these dogs for a reduced rate. Gerry helped us help this man when he was down & saving the dogs from a difficult situation. This speaks louder to me than anything else. I'm sorry to hear of any negative reviews & the unfortunate circumstances related to them. Familiar with the many small business stresses, I can say that Jerry is probably not perfect, but definitely an honorable man. We prefer to do business with good people. In my experience, he is "good people" & takes his commitment to pets & their owners seriously. read more

This is the only place I would take my dogs to get groomed. I use to go to petsmart, but they wouldn't cut my smallest dog anymore because he got aggressive. Jerry and his staff are great with him and my other dog! I would drop them off between 8-10 am and they would call within a hour or so to pick them up. They always get new bandanas around their necks! Great price too! Around 45 each for bath and cut. I stumbled across this place somehow and glad I did! I have a St Bernard and needless to say she needs a good bath and often! My bathroom isn't big enough and the groomers I've taken her to just aren't washing her very well and she comes home smelling like wet dog. I took her to this place, and although the lady at the front desk wasn't the most personable, I did like the washing stations. There are 4 or 5 of them and for $10.00 you get to wash, dry, brush, and cut nails and they provide everything you need. She fit perfectly in the tub which was a plus. The dryer was so powerful that I was afraid to dry her ears in fear I'd pop an ear drum! I'm sure there are ways to adjust the settings but I couldnt figure it out. So I finished drying her at home. The next time I go, I'm bringing my own shampoo and conditioner because I like Maggie to smell as good as I do and the soap they had there didn't cut it. But I would definitely recommend this place as a do it yourself dog wash. I also loved seeing all the dogs playing in the dog park behind the building. We have not gone in yet to play but it was packed with dogs and their owners so I'm assuming it's a nice park. We will check it out very soon! read more

Took my sweet Marvin, a very hyper and active Black Lab to Jerry's for a "spaw day" and play date. When I picked him up he was happy to see me and he looked "mahvelous!" The groomer did an excellent job and got all those dead shaggy lab whisps of hair off of him and he has been cooler ever since. He seemed to have a wonderful time...at least that what he told me :) He will be going back again this weekend for a weekend stay and I know he is looking forward to playtime again with friends. I am shaking right now because I am so upset. Jerry at Jerry's Paw Spa literally pushed me out of his store. It was super busy in his store (right before the Thanksgiving holiday) and my puppy was over-stimulated. She barked at a woman who tentatively and sheepishly walked up to grab her. This woman worked at the dog spa but acted like she was super afraid of dogs. I said, "My puppy hasn't reacted like that to a person since the first few weeks when she first came home from the shelter. I even took her to a park in Irving this weekend." Jerry said, "You're crazy." I said, "Are you calling me a liar, sir?" He said, "No, you're just crazy, and don't you talk about "her" (the employee) like that. Get out of here!" I said, "Excuse me?" I came in here after my dissatisfaction with Petsmart grooming. Parker, my Cavalier, had been in an accident almost 3 weeks prior and was still a little skiddish. I got to talk directly to the groomer, tell her all my concerns, as well as tell her exactly how I wanted him groomed. She listened and even washed his ears with his prescription ear wash after the bath. My brother picked him up as I was running late for work, so Jerry let me pay over the phone. I have had interaction with the owner and even got NBC to report on his business. We are not looking to get repaid we just want the answers to why did he not take Bailey to the vet even after we signed a release stating that we would pay the vet bill. Instead he left her in a kennel for over six hours bleeding. He is also lying on a lot of threads saying he got her medical treatment when he didn't and also he keeps changing his story on where the dogs were when the bite happened. We have been boarding our dogs at Jerry's paw spa for years. This place is absolutely the best of the best when it comes to meeting all of your pet's needs. I have yet to see any other boarding facilty have a huge dog park for the dogs to play in and this is sectioned off by breed size. They even have large rooms inside so your small dogs can stay together. This means a lot to us because the last thing we want is our puppies boarded in cages all day when we are gone for a week. Our maltese dogs Martini and Rossi look amazing after the grooming services. The boarding and grooming services are very reasonable considering the facility is boardering Southlake. I don't even think this place deserves the score unless it's a negative score. I took my dog there quite a few times and when I first started going they did a really good job he smelled really good when he came out and it was good cut. The last time I took him in I picked him up like 40 minutes later and normally it takes so much longer to cut him and bathe him and I thought that was weird they were done in 40 minutes. When I picked my dog up he didn't even smell like he had a bath his cut was horrible and the owner blamed it on how matted he was but he's been far more matted with much longer hair. Since it was such a bad job I asked if they could bathe him and cut him again and he said no they would not and again blamed it on my dog and said he would shave the dog which didn't need to be done. I have had this dog for 15 years and I know what needs to be done when it comes to a bath and a cut the owner is just a jerk. Find another place to take your dog if you're taking your dog to Jerry's Paw Spa. read more

Think twice before leaving your precious pup in the hands of this man. It was very busy when I went to have my dog groomed. You have to sign a piece of paper stating if your dog is barking too much, you will get called and you have to pick up your dog. Come on! It's a dog place. My neighbors recommended this business. I'm not sure what they were thinking. :( The owner and his employee seem to be indifferent to dogs. I like to take my dog to a place where they love pets. The owner, Jerry, was very gruff and rude. It was not a relaxing atmosphere. While I was there, the phone rang multiple times. Jerry was short with each caller. I decided not to have my dog groomed there, and Jerry almost refused to return the paper I had given him containing my personal information and the information of my dog. read more

As far as we know, our pets were treated well at Jerry's. My only concern is play time in the yard. I would hope that aggressive type dogs would be banned or separated from the others. After my dog received an eye injury while being boarded, The facility failed to even notice the injury or that the eye was completely matted shut and had been for days. Nor did they seek the medical attention for her that I was assured would happen in the event of an illness or any other unforeseen incident. So I tried this groomer because I got a coupon in the mail and his website is great. Jerry is very nice...as a person an A. But here is the deal....I asked him to brush my doggie's teeth and groom him. I told him I wanted his hair shorter but not to shave him. I picked him up and he was shaking and shaved. NOT COOL. Also when they told me the price it was less than I expected because I wanted his teeth brushed. They said they didn't write that down and so they didn't know if it had been done....and that was it. HELLO?! That was not what I asked for. Nice Guy...Not so great on the grooming. I am going back to the sweet ladies who love on my dog and listen to what I want. It definatly bothered me that he was so shaky too. He is not a nervous dog and didn't shake at the other groomers. We are done here. read more
