I've been a loyal customer of Jerry's Pawn since 1992, and I'm honestly disappointed with how much the customer service has changed. The previous staff treated customers with professionalism, respect, and appreciation for their business. Unfortunately, the newer employees have been rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. Recently, I brought in audio equipment that I purchased for school and one piece of equipment I paid around $350 for and instead of being treated fairly, I was yelled at about items "losing value" and even asked for a receipt in a disrespectful manner. What makes it worse is that the store can clearly see my long history with them, including similar items I've pawned in the past for higher amounts. The atmosphere of the store has changed completely. The place feels empty now, and instead of valuing loyal customers, they treat people like they're trying to scam the business -- when customers are the ones trusting them with their personal property. After over 30 years of doing business with this company, I expected better treatment, communication, and respect. Loyalty should matter. Once I get my items out of this location, they will never see me again. I will also advise all of the people I've referred to this particular location to never go back. Don't trust it. Now I see why they have 1 stars all over the place. Go to the downtown location on Pryor. Came to Jerry's Pawn on Monday 9/23/24 had a fine visit, I'm selling an old wedding ring and band. The young lady offered me $2000 however I wanted to stop by 2 other places and compare prices. I had one other offer at $2000 in buckhead and an other offer for $1700 in Riverdale. So today 9/28/24 I comeback to sell my ring here but the man (older, large man) offered me $700-$800. I literally laughed at him. Why such a wide price difference? He said the price of gold changes everyday. Yeah okay not that much. Not everyone knows what they're doing here and I don't like that. I'm fine with a difference in price but that just makes no sense. 2 stars because there is nice stuff here and if you come on the right day maybe you'll get a fair price. Called in and told them exactly what I was selling to the model and everything. Was told a certain amount over the phone. Item(s) are in excellent shape so there was no way that the value they stated should have been reduced. Marked it down by half once I arrived to store. The item goes for almost 400% percent higher online on sites like eBay and other shopping pages. Makes absolutely no sense even if they marked it up to turn a profit. I went there last week on Tuesday with my brother, when I go in no body care about us and they ignored us for at least 30 minutes. The reason I was there was I want to SELL my jewelry and NOT PAWN IT. So finally I dare myself to go to the country, still they ignored me, I tell the guy with his mouth full of Pizza. I tell him that I WANT TO SELL MY JEWELRY. So he checked it and I asked for $1,500.00. Finally he came back to me that he can't do $1,500.00 and he just can $850,00 to pawn it!!! " Who want to pawn it?? I tell him like that, since beginning I tell him that I want TO SELL MY JEWELRY. He played dumb, actually everyone in store. Weed smells the entire store too. For the record I was not feeling well because I just got sick and stay in bed for almost 5 weeks. That's why the purpose of selling my jewelry was to pay my late bills. Back to the store, so I tell him that I don't want to pawn it. He said okay' But guess what he printed the receipt with the amount same if I pawned it..CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE THAT, they robbed me. I can't do anything that time and sign because my body started to get fever again and I'm really upset. I have been buying jewelry here for years until today. I saw two item I was interested in, a bracelet and a diamond necklace, and BOTH I was denied to place in layaway by the 'manager'. I went in recently to sell an item and was offered an amount way to low. I pawned it at a price that was too low. The workers were all rude. I will not do any business with this store again. The owner needs to train workers better. Basic courtesy is something that a customer deserves but this is absent here. read more

After I bought it I realized they said it was iPad mini 4 but I never checked it my self(assuming their a business and they would be 100% sure before they post or sell items) so I checked it and found out it was an iPad mini 3.... So I drove all the way back and the best dead they can give me is $25 off iPad mini 4 and 3 is a big difference and $25 off isn't really a difference. Got my refund at least. Jerry's Pawn Shop on Piedmont might as well put a "No Blacks Allowed" sign on their door. As soon as they see you walk in, they automatically disregard you. After that, they walk over saying "NO"! to anything you have. Last year, I tried to pawn my Platinum wedding band for money to pay rent, they told me it wasn't platinum without even looking at it. Today, I took in a fur coat that my grandmother purchased over 30 years ago from Saks. They told me they couldn't take it. When I asked why, they gave me every excuse in the book. "It has a rip", "We Just have too many coats". And they look at you funny and watch you walk around the store like you are going to steal something. Jerry's Pawn in Buckhead on Piedmont is definitely not prejudiced toward blacks. I am a Black woman and I have gone there many times with coats and they always accomodate me. I do not know what your situation was or the quality of your goods but I do know several blacks who have gone there and been served. I have tried on may rings, coats and have even been allowed to come behind the counter and try on coats. So lets not label people unjustly. read more
