Had a most excellent experience with Jerry's! My old PT Cruiser had been having transmission issues for a while, and Brett was candid about my options during my initial discussion with them. We went ahead with a transaxle rebuild because of its poor driving quality when I brought it in, and then spent the next two months dealing with one issue after another, trying to find the right parts (because old PT Cruiser), trying to outsmart an onboard computer that had clearly lost its mind, basically everything that Murphy's Law could throw at this vehicle. Throughout it all, Brett and his guys absolutely went out of their way to be super fair, understanding, and communicative every step of the way. In the end, there was one issue that they weren't able to diagnose, again being very upfront about it, and Brett had me do a testdrive with them to see if it was acceptable or if I wanted them to keep working on it. Since the car was running WAY better than before I'd brought it in, I gave them my stamp of approval. This could easily have been a very negative situation, but because of how reasonable and professional Brett and his team were, I'll continue to rely on them for anything related to any transmission going forward! read more

I am very happy with my experience at Jerry's Transmission. For starters, they went above and beyond the "call of duty" to fit my repair into their schedule so I wouldn't be without my pickup for long in view of the huge expense of my having to rent a car. In addition, Brett made the process less stressful with his kindness and humor. This is the second time I've had this same repair done. The first time, it was done at a different shop. After that repair, the pickup was a little difficult in shifting (a 5-speed manual transmission), but slowly smoothed out; but after about 3 - 4 years, the same problem started to show up again! Looking back on it, I wasn't confident with that first repair, thinking I shouldn't have occasional rough shifting afterwards. Now, this second time around, the shifting is as smooth and solid as it was when I bought the vehicle. I know it was done right! Thank you Brett and everyone! Jerry's is better then great they are excellent! 5 stars all the way. They have a great staff who are very well versed and trained in there trade as well as have a very high regard for customer service. I was traveling through the state when my torque converter died on me and trashed the rest of my transmission. I got towed to Jerry's after find great review on yelp. Need less to say all the great review where correct. They had a full lot of vehicle they where working on but since we where traveling and from out of town they took us right in the same day and had us back on the road with in 48 hours. That's means they custom built a new heavy duty torque converter and new transition in less than 48 hours all while providing great customer service and also keeping me in the loop about everything that was going on. 5 stars work all the way and a fair price with a nation wide warranty. (Good luck finding any shop that stands behind their work so much they give a nation wide warranty! It's not a great experience having you transmission go out but dealing with Jerry's made it a great experience. Don't even hesitate to bring your vehicle here. read more

Started having problems with my transmission and did a great deal of troubleshooting myself prior to calling Jerry's. When I called after doing the research, pulling codes, etc. I asked what they would charge to troubleshoot the vehicle and tell me what was wrong. I was advised $102 to do so. I took it in and the second day they had it I called to see what the status was and was advised it was throwing two codes, shifting hard and that the fluid was full and clean. These are the exact things I told them when I dropped it off and they noted this on the paperwork that the customer advised of codes (I provided both code numbers), hard shifting and clean and full tranny fluid that was clean and didn't smell burnt. I was blunt and told them that the information they just gave me was the same information I gave them. So, I asked what the problem was and they said they didn't know and wouldn't be able to tell me without tearing it out and also told me that a rebuild would be $3600. They still charged me the $102 to tell me exactly what I told them! After this happened I spoke to several people who said that every time they have taken vehicles to them that they were all told that they need a new transmission or rebuild and were quoted a huge price tag. Jerry's should have said, we weren't able to determine what was wrong or find anymore information than I did and not charge! They didn't diagnose anything! read more

I called and made an appointment and brought my 2017 Jeep Cherokee to them as they wanted. The transmission had a leak. They kept it for a week, never even looked at it the whole week. I stop by one day after work in the evening and my jeep was parked in the street and left unlocked! When I called him about it, he told me to come and get it he didn't want to work on it. I give Jerry's transmission 5 stars for their service, and the ability to diagnose and fix a problem with my transmission. Another shop had proposed a fix for $2700 - $6700. Brett was great to work with. Very professional and honest. When he said he was going to call me, he always did and kept me in the loop. I never had to call him to find out what was going on. They were able to fix our car in a very timely manner and we ended up not needing a new transmission and only some cooling lines and fittings. Since they were so honest with us, they saved us from buying a new transmission like other places may have said. We will definitely come back to them when we have any other car issues and will recommend them to everyone we know. We will go through them first for any other referrals as well. Thank you guys! I needed help so I stopped by Jerry's. I couldn't get my downstream oxygen sensors out and it turned out I stripped the nut because I didn't have the special tool. Didn't take more than 10 minutes for their mechanics to fix that problem, put in the new one I had purchased and the best part was they didn't charge me for something so simple. It was a unexpected kindness for business owner here in Missoula, most places are concerned with pure profit which I noticed from the other place I stopped by to price the replacement. 100% recommended this place read more

I unfortunately needed a new transmission while driving through Lookout pass and was happy that I got towed to Jerry's. Brett is super easy going and great to work with on the front end. I knew the repair was going to take a week or so because they had so many cars in the shop, so I flew back to the midwest to allow them plenty of time to fix my car right. Unfortunately, they told me 7-10 days and it took almost 3 weeks, but I was flexible and allowed them to take their time. When I arrived back in Missoula, they picked me up at the airport and had me on the road within the hour. Then, the worst happened. One small mistake on their part, the wires were put on the wrong side of a dipstick and started to melt and burn and spark just one hour down the road. The check engine light came on and the computer was freaking out, making the engine shake. So yet again, I was broken down in St. Regis. But they paid for my tow back to them, put me up in a nice hotel for the night, gave me a loaner car and fixed the problem immediately. They then proceeded to test drive my vehicle for 70 miles and the next morning I was on my way again. They stood by their work, apologized and made me feel comfortable along the way, all of which I am very grateful for. Mistakes happen, and I'm sure that they will be much more careful in the future after this most recent incident. (3/5/14) I feel confident that the warranty will be backed, but hopefully I do not need it again!!!!! The vehicle felt very good on my 8 hour drive. read more

My initial impression was very positive when dropping-off my transmission for inspection, replacing several seals and a throw-out bearing as I was replacing the clutch on my vehicle. That initial impression was as good as it got. After many weeks of no news followed by many weeks of me hounding them for information by phone and stopping-by, getting the run around, various stories/explanations changing as to why and at 7 weeks after much effort I get a call to pickup my transmission. However at pickup there was no receipt ready, no detailed explanation of what was completed/done or hours billed. I was allowed to take home my transmission without payment but when the bill did arrive it was vague; with no explanation of specific parts replaced, transmission condition, or hours billed but was a reasonable lump sum, but again with no explanation for my own records. Now after multiple months of playing some sort of game: me requesting more specific information, they sending me the same bill at the beginning of the month I have decided to pay it to be done with it. Less than professional obviously. Not customer friendly or reasonable from my experience. I still hear that they are the best in town and are very busy, but with service like that for the little guy (small job), I wouldn't recommend them to anyone in town. If I was required to use their services in the future, I would ask for a copy of the initial work order with a specific time estimate and a request to have them call me if that estimate is not met (not asking a lot eh?). And next time I would pickup my car/transmission if things start getting funny and the initial time frame drags on. If someone from Jerry's reads this: I would really recommend improving your communication with your customers (calling them when things are delayed) and calling back in a timely fashion when they contact you with questions. Additionally, giving honest information related to completion time frames, making detailed paperwork a norm and letting potential customers know if you're so busy it's going to take 7 weeks, so they can make the decision of having their property left there for themselves (versus being felt like its captive). That's a courtesy that would benefit you in the long run. I believe you do good work, but all the other aspects leave me with a terribly bitter taste in my mouth. I hope you can make those improvements for your business' benefit as well as all your future customers. read more
